iPad owners rejoice, their uber-expensive, uber-enlarged iPod Touches are now officially out of date. Decrepid, unfashionable, worthless.
It's been a really easy wait too. There hasn't been a single point in time since the release of the iPad I've felt I was missing out. It's not because I don't know what I'm missing either, there's one in my household.
Even though I already own an iPad I am looking forward to #2. I have really enjoyed my iPad over the last year and wouldn't have wanted to wait when I can just buy the new one when it comes out. I am guessing there will be an iPad #3 at some point as well.
It has for me as well, but I don't own one and I haven't really wanted one. I mean I want one, but I wanted to wait for the second gen one so that it would have a least a couple major improvements. And I had enough patience for it. I am more or less really excited to run Beatmaker 2 on it. Of course there will be an iPad 3. And a 4... and probably a 5. It's the Apple curse. I only upgrade every 2 or so gens though. And I prefer starting even (2, 4, 6, etc.)
@Booch, I've done the same with for my last couple of devices, I bought the first gen nano and learned my lesson on that one. Not that it wasn't amazing for it's time, but the screen got destroyed an scuffed up from just being in my pocket with no other items. Consequently the 2nd gen nano had these issues addressed. I'm anxious to see what improvements have been made on the iPad. Still not sure I would need one other than for novelty reasons ie. Gaming. But they are pretty sweet! I'm hoping there's a price reduction like they did with the first iPhone to the 2nd gen. or the original iPads drop low enough I can get one of those.
Completely agree. I just have a hard time getting excited about 1st Gen Devices no matter how cool they are, and the iPad is pretty cool. I just wanted to wait for the second gen. That's my main thing though, I can't see myself needing one like I do my iPod touch. I mean it has most of my music, all my iOS games and everything in my pocket. The iPad is not accessable and I'd pretty much only use it at home. I dunno... like I said. Beatmaker 2 is all I would really use on it. Unless they make Starfront: Collision HD. Then I am all over that.
Board games are a big reason I want one, but I also really enjoy browsing the web on my iphone... except for the small screen requiring a lot of zooming in/out. The iPad resolves that. I don't have a 1st gen iPad, but have certainly had opportunities to try it out and have really liked it. I'm going to get a gen 2 iPad for sure, so I can't wait for the announcement and the pre-orders to start. I think I'm going to get a 3G model, but not 100% sure about that. I might stick with a WiFi only model to save some bucks.
