Maaaannn I loved those games. Perseus Well-Known Member Jun 29, 2013 64 0 0 #13 Perseus, Dec 14, 2014 Ok! I've played some and I'll give you my impressions so far: Solid gameplay; I'm actually really enjoying this, especially compared to some other IOS snowboarding titles I've played. Very remniscient of Cool Boarders and a little of SSX (SSX was a tat more arcade-ey). It's smooth and fun. IAP's don't hurt the game as far as I can see. They are only meant for those that want to earn XP faster or just plain unlock everything it has to offer from the get go. I haven't unlocked too many maps, but it seems they offer nice variety. I'm glad I bought it! This game is what I was looking for in a snowboarding game. Still! There is room for improvement for nitpicky people like me. Grinding/slides are too arcade for my taste. It's too easy to get on. I mean: you can jump somewhat to the side of a rail, press the slide button and you'll magically get pulled ontop of the rail. Once you are on top if it, it's a sort of boring keep the arrow in the middle mini-game. I think it was in Cool Boarders 4 or Shaun White where the rail was sort of magnetic/sticky, but you actually had to physically balance yourself on the rail. You could slide to one side or another instead of only just tip left or right. Also landing: way too easy. Sometimes I'm almost horizontal and I still somehow seem to get pulled upright and land my trick. All in all it's all a bit too forgiving. Perhaps a realism/simulation mode for the more hardcore crowd. Another request: please add tail and nose blunts! I love manuals in skateboarding games and I love similair mechanics in snowboarding games! I'll check back in when I have more to say. squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,714 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #14 squarezero, Dec 14, 2014 I concur, though being more of a casual fan of this kind of game, I appreciate the more arcadey difficulty. So far this is the best snowbord game on iOS. Perseus Well-Known Member Jun 29, 2013 64 0 0 #15 Perseus, Dec 15, 2014 Last edited: Dec 15, 2014 So I played some more and now I got a couple of pointers: -please add an option to immediately restart the last played map after finishing it so I don't have to sift through the menus everytime single time I want to play the same map. It gets in the way of the flow of things. (Also a quick map select option would be nice) -stop asking me if I want to post my score online through a pop-up everytime I finish a race. Please add an option to do that automatically or manually, but not through a pop-up message. I want to get on with the racing! > -balancing slides using the gyro. It seems the IAP do get in the way of the game a bit. Meaning: the best rider in the game (has way better stats than the rest) isn't unlockable through XP as far as I can see. So it becomes kind of pay-to-win. Especially if you want to compete online. Perhaps this rider could be a nice reward if you complete the game 100%. I know game companies use these IAPs to ensure a better revenue stream, but it's a bit offputting for a sports game. Pay-to-win kills game communities > kills future revenue. Edit: NPCs would be nice. And next to ducking as a prep for a jump and a speed increase, perhaps a lean forward mode to increase the speed even more at the cost of manouverability. Makes speedracing even more strategic and intense. Speaking of which: time trail mode? Maybe add ghosts and such? Avalance mode? Im full of ideas. ratrodstudio Well-Known Member Sep 10, 2009 198 0 0 #16 ratrodstudio, Dec 15, 2014 Last edited: Dec 17, 2014 Thanks for the feedback guys, it's very helpful and we are glad to see that most of you are enjoying the game. We are a fairly small team (indie studio) and have been working on this for a while. @Perseus -Maybe an "Hardcore mode" setting in the game options which remove the auto re stabilization could work well for more hardcore games. -When it's asking you to post your score, if you press yes then it will never ask you again and scores will be sent automatically. You can enable and disable auto submission in the game options as well. -We will look into having an extra button or something in the session results for a "quick retry". -We went with the stick for balance with this game since we develop on multiple platforms and that way its universal. But we could add a platform specific option specifically for balance to use the virtual stick or the accelerometer. -Regarding the IAP and game balance, you can unlock Maverick the last charactes by unlocking all the other characters before. So ultimately it can be done without using any IAP, those are only to speed things up in the game but there's no limitation on what you can do without using any IAP. -If you hold forward, we actually have a lean forward to gain speed feature implemented. It will accelerate faster. Thanks for all the ideas, we are writing down everything on our side and will bring that to our dev team. We have a pretty major update coming up in January. We did a lot of improvements to the game and we are also looking to add additional content as well. We are planning to add new characters, outfits, boards and even new locations. ratrodstudio Well-Known Member Sep 10, 2009 198 0 0 #17 ratrodstudio, Dec 17, 2014 If you guys have any suggestions about what you would like to see in the game.
