That's too bad, this game definitely sounds great. I would love to be at WWDC meeting with all the awesome iphone developers, maybe next year.
lol i was wondering that too. are the global scores still updating in the beta? i had a badass run on the cyclone level, and i didn't see it on the list oh well. i know it happened! edit: thanks google http://www.mobileorchard.com/avoiding-iphone-app-rejection-from-apple/ 4. Button images must be consistent If you decide to use one of the existing images Apple provides for buttons, be careful you use it for an identical function. While the HIG states you can use a standard button in a non-standard way if your app is providing a “immersive environment”, you are better off creating your own custom buttons to avoid the risk of rejection. If you use the “action button” image, make sure tapping on it brings up a menu with choices. If it doesn’t, Apple may reject the app.
Good find, holliberry. That's exactly it. So don't worry - nothing was breaking, everything is still working great. It's just that we were using the standard "Info" button on a profile to bring up a set of buttons to let you edit or delete your profile. However, the "Info" button is ONLY supposed to be used to flip the view and display app info. Fun stuff, huh? I see you with 70 on Cyclone Island. Pretty awesome! Secret trick - you can view your scores here: http://www.imangistudios.com/imangi/harbormaster/viewGlobalStats.do You guys have already shipped over 90,000 cargo units! Freaking amazing.
wonderful. Now it will probably go to the back of the line again. It would be nice if they could 'Pend' apps rather than 'reject' them. That way they could give you 24-48 hours to fix it before it goes back in line.
So, let me get this straight, they need to take a hard line on you guys for breaking from the sacred code of Apple's UI BUT App Spammers like Khalid Shaikh are free to use stolen images from other apps and video games and THAT doesn't break any of Apple's sacred codes? Nice to know the priorities at Apple HQ.
Eh - we all knew the review process is inconsistent. Nothing new there. We've actually gotten really lucky so far - this is our first ever rejection, after a year on the App Store. So we're not complaining. @holliberry Did your cyclone score submit properly?
i think so.... man i swear a lot of the top scores weren't this high the last time i played.... 355 are you kidding me? i don't even want to see it get that hard. ... okay yeah i do
Apple only cares when you break the rules that they make. If you want to steal other people's work then that's your business
I didn't bother reading, I just saw screenshots and 1 post. So sorry if this is already in the game or suggested but here I go. Since this is like a Flight Control with a twist... How about power ups? Like a whirl pool that gets rid of some ships?
@Kiwii We've got some cool gameplay elements in there. For example, one level has cyclones that get your ships all turned around and mess up your paths. @VeganTNT Actually, that's exactly how they work, and I wouldn't expect them to work any other way. It's up to each individual company to defend their IP. That's not Apple's job. Can you imagine if they had to figure out all the legal minutiae for the 50,000 apps in the store? In the developer agreement that we sign, we actually state that WE are responsible for making sure all the content in our apps is legal. BTW, if you see any blatant infringement out there, you should bring it to the attention of the dev who actually got ripped off. Then they can decide what to do about it.
@nattylux - Since we have to wait a little longer, is there any way you could post a video of the gameplay to tide us over?
Haha, I get it... Since I didn't read through the pages, is there an approximate date for the release?
haha, I meant to do and clicked by accident. Kinda weird how that changes the entire tone of what I said. But yeah, even though I don't like it I have to agree that I don't want to wait months for an app because everything needs to be scrutinized. I may not like it but I completely understand that it's not Apple's job to fight anyone else's battles I just don't like seeing anyone have their IP's stolen
Haha, "tide" you over. Nice one. Ok, WWDC is over now, and I think we'll postpone our vacation by one day so I can finish that video for you. Will try to post that up for you tomorrow. @Hobbes Ya, showing Harbor Master to Firemint was totally cool. They had to rush off to do their Real Racing demo, but Keith and Rob commiserated a bit about how difficult it is to draw those smooth paths. You'd be amazed how much complex math goes into something that looks so simple.
This game looks absolutely awesome. I don't have time to look through 40 pages of posts, so excuse me if this is a bit redundant, but is there an ETA for this game? It looks fantastic.
Natty has the icon itself been posted? I'm collecting a ton of 100x100px icons and making a collage. All Imangi games are in there, expect Harbor Master, cause I need the image
