Hey Jayson, welcome to the forums Actually, you can find the UDID on your device page when you plug it into iTunes. When you click on the heading "serial number" (I think that's the one) it switches to "device identifier" yup, I agree 100% many of my favorite app store titles are smaller games made by indie developers who are active in these forums
Now it's my turn to blush! Thank you so much for your beautiful, thoughtful response to my post Natalia. It's even more exciting to hear how one couple who dare to follow their hearts and go out on a limb can experience so much enjoyment and satisfaction along the way - I find it so inspiring! I know I'm going to enjoy this game even more now that I've experienced a little insight of what's gone into the development of the final product. I really think you're sitting on something very big here - can't wait to shell out a few Aussie dollars for it when it arrives in the App Store! Thanks again for putting a human face to what is clearly an terrific development team. All the best and please remember me when you're all rich and famous!
i knew there was another way i just couldnt remember what it was... either way works but thanks for helping me out.
Ps. As for the one bedroom apartment you've been working out of, when the money starts pouring in from sales of Harbor Master, you might want to think about upgrading to a 3+ bedroom luxury apartment!
Sorry you missed out on the beta, Silver Orange. I wish we had more slots I'd be really interested to hear your feedback when it comes out. I don't think that Firemint will abandon Flight Control any time soon. They've been putting out a lot of updates, so I'm sure there's lots more coming there. Plus, Firemint is awesome. And they have Australian accents, which makes them even awesomer Yes indeed. I'm unflappable Awesome - thanks for the feedback! Haha - thanks, that would be nice. Keith is like a one-man whistling band when he's coding. He needs a sound-proof room
LOL, you guys crack me up! - I feel like I already know you. Oh, and just for the record Natalia, I have an ridgy didge Australian Accent!!!
And more brownie points for Jayson. Nice start in the forums I almost ended up in Australia when I was a kid - I could have had an Australian accent, too. Funny to think about that. BTW - we're at over 50,000 pieces of cargo shipped. You beta testers have been working hard I think we're going to need to upgrade our servers once we release...
just had a idea while playing... you guys let me know what you think i thought that it would be nice to be able to set an exit path for an unloading boat before its finished unloading... this way you can either plan around that or change it as needed but you have the option to plan ahead a little bit more.
Bug So I was checking the high scores and when I had finished I hit the "done" button. Then the screen turned black. The phone was still on because my iPod was still playing and I could double tap the home button to access the iPod controls. I have been able to repeat this. It seems if you try to hit "done" if you have been on the "total cargo collected" screen for ANY map it will do this AT ALL.
Thanks for letting us know. I think a couple of other people reported that bug too. Will need to check it out. Drawing the paths for docked boats is an interesting idea. Might play around with that after the first release.
You can't beat the old Australian Accent eh? I have been loving Harbor Master, certainly taking the Flight Control concept to a whole new level. The incentive to keep playing is great instead of Flight Control requiring you to just aim for a new high score
also adding twitter and facebook integration so you can send your high scores that way seems to becoming popular now... that might be a good idea later on. i may have already said this and if so... sorry
I have an idea for your game. It is a build off of surgeon creek there are two opposing nations that are seperated by a body of > water. Each nation has one artillery and 5 ships. 1st ship- large slow carrier. Carries ammo(cannonball) 2nd ship- gunner- has one gun that can be fired by double tapping it 3rd ship- transporter- carries soldiers- can attack island or > protect homeland 4th ship- medic boat- heals damaged land 5th ship-submarine- torpedo- only one per game
We'll need to look into how that works. I don't think I've played any games with FB/Twitter integration - or at least I haven't noticed them. Maybe if HM gets really popular and people are clamoring for it, we'll check it out. Wow, that's pretty epic. Harbor Master at War Really cool idea, although that seems more like a separate game than an add-on to this one.
Grats Slusty! Okey... *moves to another map* This game might have the same problem that FC has, for high records endurance and time is needed. Maybe having bigger gradual waves as time goes on, having the progression exponential instead of a linear one. Or instead of having waves, let it be more progressive. Now to test the new version
Don't let Slusty discourage you from Cyclone Island. I know Slusty, and he ain't all that (hi Slusty!). You can kick his ass. As far as difficulty, it does actually increase with each wave. As time goes on, the frantic waves get longer and have more boats on the screen. Also, Keith is working hard on the game-save mechanism, so pretty soon you should be able to take breaks in the middle of a game without losing your score. That way, high scores should depend more on skill and dexterity, rather than available time.
We can motivate each other till we reach Slusty (just placed 206). Either way, Cyclone Island is my favorite map, so I'll be going back to it. And the cyclone bug seems to be gone! Going to have more goes at Sturgeon Creek meanwhile.
Wow, 206!!! Nice - you're so good! I have a feeling your scores are going to go through the roof once Keith releases game saving. Good word. un·flap·pa·ble adj. Persistently calm, whether when facing difficulties or experiencing success; not easily upset or excited. Plus, easy to remember because it's so funny
