You guys should send this to arn... Ya know, a beta for him to review if he would.... It could get some positive feedback and people would get excited!so bribe him.... A promo code
they're all out of beta spots, so they can't send him the beta version...I am guessing TA will cover it though, they did cover Little Red Sled and all
OMFG!!!! Our friend Slusty just scored 355 on Cyclone Island. Holy. Freaking. Crap. No words. If anyone wants to kick his ass, I'll tell you where he lives.
ahhhhh is everyone here a beta tester?!?! lol But I'm pacient...veeeery pacient I can wait. Just watch me. Lol
Yeah, my sentiments exactly. BTW, Danny - have you tried the new beta? Slusty said it's much more fun to play now that we changed how the boats are coming in. I know you were complaining about that. Does it feel better to you? Arn and Blake are definitely going to get a copy. I know Arn is a Flight Control junkie (who isn't?), and Blake should get a kick out of the course names, so I think they'll like this one.
Yeah the game is a whole lot better now. I just shot Keith an email. It was short (since this new beta is mostly bug fixes).
Hey guys, sorry about the install confusion with the new beta. I think you definitely had to delete the old beta first to install the new one. Should have included that in the email. However, don't worry about losing your scores when deleting the game if you have online syncing enabled. When you install the new version and create your player account, use the same Username. It will ask you if you'd like to download your scores from the server. Don't have to lose your progress Cool eh? -Keith
Ya i was thinking this too... it would make it more self challenging and add a new level of fun to the game WTF?!?! ya ill do the honors and take care of him just kidding... nice job slusty! congrats... im still stuck getting 80's tops on the levels... its super addicting though so idc you had to contact the developers... they only had 100 spots which are all filled up. sorry
Can't wait for this one! Hello everyone, With a great deal of interest, I've just spent the last hour or so reading though the past 23 pages of this thread. Although I've been a frequent visitor to touchArcade for over a year now, today is the 1st time I've actually read any of the forums posted on this web site. Having stumbled upon this particular thread almost by chance, I've quickly garnered a great deal of excitement for what appears will become one of the most successful game releases in the App Store yet! Being a typically casual gamer, this style of game is right up my alley. I became an avid fan of 'Flight Control' when it first released and am patiently awaiting the updates which have been announced for that title. Although I am not one of the 'lucky 100' beta testers for 'Harbor Master', I am extremely confident that this new release from Imangi Studios will swifty rise to the top of the App Store ranks within a very short space of time. No doubt initial comparisons between this game and the hugely successful 'Flight Control', will certainly serve to increase initial interest in 'Harbor Master'. However my gut feeling is that once this established audience of fans (myself included!) experience the vastly more engaging gameplay of 'Harbor Master', it's only a matter of time before new sales records are blitzed! Lastly I would like to add that the level of enthusiasm and engagement that Nattylux (sorry, I don't know your real name!) has demonstrated in this post is a testament to developers who are committed to realizing great success in the endeavors. Thanks again to all the team at Imangi Studios for all your hard work and I eagerly await the arrival of "Harbor Master' in the App Store this month. Ps. Although I've spent far to much time gaming on my iPod Touch, I had never previously considered becoming a Beta Tester for upcoming titles. Could anyone tell me if this opportunity is only open to 'Jail Broken' devices or is the download of Beta software achievable on 'Unbroken' devices, thanks.
it is actually intended for "Unbroken" devices. what you do is you have to first find a developer that wants you to Test for them. You will then need to provided them with your UDID. You can find this in several ways, the easiest being searching the app store for "UDID" and downloading one of the free applications that finds the UDID for you. The developer will then provide you with instructions on how to install their application and you test away. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also I just thought I would point out one of the other major advantages that I feel Harbor Master has over Flight Control. IMHO I think that games developed by a larger company such as Fire Mint will be abandoned sooner than one developed by a small team like Imangi Studios. Again... both types of development teams will still make GREAT games, but i feel that the smaller team will feel more of a connection towards an app. just my $.50 for what its worth
Awww Jayson. That is so so nice of you to say. I can't even tell you how much I appreciate your kind words. That just made my day. I'm Natalia, and Imangi Studios is just me and my husband Keith (kshep) working out of our one bedroom apartment. We've been in the App Store from the beginning, for one year now, have released 3 games, and it's been a wild ride. We both quit much more conventional software engineering/management jobs to do this, and we're loving every second. Getting the kind of feedback we've been getting for Harbor Master makes this the most rewarding job in the world I hope you love the game as much as our testers do when it comes out. By the way - no, you absolutely don't need to have a jailbroken phone to do beta testing. Apple has a system set up for beta testing that is totally legit. To beta test, just follow the threads/Twitter feeds of devs you like, and chances are, they'll eventually recruit beta testers for an upcoming game. Thanks again!
sent back a reply email, kinda short but ill be sending more feedback as i go along edit: this game is going to be huge
Wow, this is partly what I meant about developers (such as yourself) who clearly take pride in their projects - thanks for such a quick response kfred35! I will now most likely look out for opportunities to be involved in the beta testing phase of upcoming apps I am interested in; if only I'd discovered this in time to become a tester for Harbor Master! I also totally agree with your thoughts on the comparison between larger development companies versus smaller development teams. I know how 'attached' I occasionally get to apps I feel are beautifully conceived and executed, or one's where I can see the potential for improvement (and I'm just the end user!). I can certainly appreciate how a smaller design/development team must feel when 'their baby' is released into the big wide world of the App Store, and then to realize it's full potential through updates as feedback is received by those who embrace it. Keep up the fine work you guys and all the best for the launch of Harbor Master.
