Snails Reloaded released today by PDAmill.

It's a Worms alike game featuring 15 levels, 25 weapons and a two player hot-swap mode.

    Price: $2.99.

First impressions: the game is a nice port including great graphics, animations and a proper iPhone interface. The gameplay is the same if you have already played this game in another device. In resume it's a Worms alike game where you can pick a gun, move or jump your snail, aim and set the power (touch interface) and move/jump again after the shooting. The price is more than fair and you'll have a reasonable amount of levels to try. If you like the genre it's simply worth.

    Review (11Jan2009):

    PROS
    - Nice graphics
    - Several weapons
    - Easy touch controls

    CONS
    - Annoying music
    - Slow paced gameplay (less time to move/shoot and no time to runaway after to better balance it)
    - Face-to-face shots are kind of stimulated but it should be the other way around (long shots with power + wind consideration)
    - Boards have too many elements and small spaces to hide which contributes to the slow paced gameplay and face-to-face shooting

A nice game but with a wrong gameplay direction IMO. 3/5

On the PDAMills site it mentions you can make custom snail types and levels. Wonder if that includes the iphone version?

Well, I bought it. I have always loved the Worms series, so this was a no-brainer. It seems as full featured as the 360 Arcade version of Worms as well, which easily makes it worth the $3.

I just got done playing it a bit. My first impressions are that it is great. Three difficulty levels, tons of missions, and lots of replay value. The only possible negative I could find is that the frame rate can drop a bit, usually when it switches to the computer's turn while it is thinking. It doesn't detract from the gameplay though, so I would definitely recommend this game.

If you like worms, get Snails since it's a solid adaptation. If Worms does come out down the road, well the game only costed you $3 and I'm sure you would have gotten $3 worth of play time out of it by then. :)

Hi, I don't quite understand the video. Do you move yourself? Or do you just blow up the ground beneath your snail and fall? Is the game like that tank one where you shoot into the air and it has to land on the other tank?

Hopefully PdaMill can get back to porting the next Arvale now :)

Arrgh!!!!!!! Appsniper shows this as £10.99!! Even though it's £1.79!
