Does anyone know how slingplayer works? I heard you need a slingbox to watch tv. Is this true? if i dont have a slingbox can i buy the app when it comes out and will it work? i dont wanna waste $30 to find out i cant use it.
you have to have the slingbox. nothing more needs to be said besides that. if you buy it without one, don't expect it to work.
Not only do you need to buy a slingbox but you need to buy a NEW one. You hook it up to the outputs on your cablebox then plug the slingbox into your tv. The Slingbox then sends the tv signal to the interwebs. You can access it from anywhere with SlingPlayer for PC and Mac (free) and the mobile versions. The old ones will work but aren't "officially supported" in the iphone version also it's WiFi only even though all the other versions work over 3g
