Must...resist...call...of...toftt. Just kidding, I don't even have a SlingBox. And this is most likely not worth 30 bucks.

Anyone know what Slingbox works best with this? I've been waiting for this to come out to buy one. Anyone actually own one, or are you guys just complaining about the price for the sake of complaining even though you don't even have the hardware required to use the app?

    hod,
the pro and prohd work best with this app, the solo will work as well however they don't seem to be spitting out as good of quality as my pros.

that's not true, this app is pretty amazing. if you have a sling and an iphone, it's a must buy. the wifi restriction sucks, I hope to open up the code and see if that can't be changed easily.

Obviously AT&T were worried that it would eat up their bandwidth. 30$ seems a little steep for Wifi only...

It's not a must buy until 3G is available. WiFi is a dealbreaker.

For those who are jailbroken, you can get it to work on 3G.

This might be a dumb question but what exactly does
A slingbox do? Or what is it in general? I could probably google it but I thought you guys would give a straight forward answer from personal experience.

It lets you watch your television from anywhere. Meaning whatever channels you have access to from home, it can stream that video to whatever (in the case, the iPhone).

i agree $30 is quite expensive for the app store, but guys if the app is $30 and the slingbox itself is like $300, the tv quality must be amazing for the iPhone and work flawlessly. I agree it would be much better if it worked on 3g/edge, but it doesn't effect me cuz I don't have a slingbox. I wish I did. For now, my app is orblive. I highly recommend it. I'm in the process of searching for a compatible tv tuner for it.
