While the presentation is simply fantastic here (though it may not be to everyone's taste), the underlying puzzle game is equally excellent. I have been following this game on Steam for a long time but I decided I would enjoy it better on my iPad and I have not been disappointed. Highly recommended!
Just a quick tip, and I'm not saying I'm the first to notice. When you have the bonus kill screen after you hit the meter in the red, if you tap on the screen after it's hit you get extra coins. (Run along sentence, sorry)
You're the first to post this! I did not know this but will definitely tap away moving forward! Man this game is freaking brilliant. If it had icloud, would be perfect. With no icloud, it's 99.5% perfection! Lol
This game got 5 stars and it deserves it, but what makes this 2 stars better then Red's Kingdom is beyond me, I really like them both, in one way they are very similar but in atmosphere they are completely different, to me both games are Game of the Year material, but let's just say I am Dutch.
Completely agree with this. I love both games but was honestly shocked to see Red's Kingdom get three stars and this get five when they have similar gameplay. The B-movie slasher atmosphere or this makes it fun while the Zelda inspired open world of Red's Kingdom makes it special. Both are 5-star games IMO (with a slight edge going to RK if I had to choose).
Agree too, i've just bought slayaway camp because it was a five star game, and i can't understand why it is so superior to red's Kingdom. It's pretty the same way to move, same way of thinking to find the solution. Visually i prefer red's kingdom, but this one is pretty funny too. The atmosphere in this one looks great, but it's so intense in red's kingdom, i don't know which i prefer. Soundtrack is much better in red's kingdom, in my point of view. I'm glad to own both, these are great games!
The review for reds kingdom specifically states why the reviewer didn't care for the game. According to the review, there's no rewind button when you get stuck, amongst other things. I'm not saying I agree or disagree with this logic, but if you read both reviews, it's clear why they feel one is five stars and one is three. I usually give up early on puzzle games because I'm terrible at them, but Slayaway camp's presentation, theme, music and dark comedy keep me coming back. So I guess I would give this 4.5 only because there doesn't appear to be much replay value.
Hey thanks for the heads up. I probably wouldn't have checked that email account for a while. Did you scroll down the email to where they relisted the previous three killer kodes? Yep, you get three more killers. Pretty sweet!
Horses for courses I guess - I agreed completely with both review scores and the reasons given, I've struggled massively to get into Reds kingdom (and deleted it), whereas Im utterly addicted to this.
