I played for about 30 minutes so far. Controls are super funky and tough to get used to at first. I wish I could configure the controls so that the right stick moves you directionally instead of using x (on PS4 controller). Maybe they will change that. After a while I kind of got used to it enough to where I could finally start enjoying the game a bit instead of focusing so much on the weird controls. What are your thoughts? Stronsay Well-Known Member Aug 6, 2015 987 230 43 #6 Stronsay, Oct 2, 2020 I don’t have a controller but the screen can be fully configured in options menu, so was easy to set up for iPad. The way I see it; the whole point here is the character is not in complete control of her movement but being pulled in all directions by a sword with a mind of its own. It seems the controls are designed to convey that slightly drunken feel to the player. I imagine not everyone can handle it but kudos to the developer for trying something different. I kind of got that since at the beginning a little bit when something was said about nobody being able to wield the sword as well as the Queen. Now it's making sense and I can dig it. Feels like a complete Nintendo experience. Crazy cute (similar to Guildlings), with unique mechanics, and controls become intuitive pretty quickly. This game completely clicks with me and I cannot wait to make it slowly to the end. A keeper and a gem. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,000 113 #9 ste86uk, Oct 2, 2020 Played the first two levels and it’s nice I’ll definitely try some more. But I can’t help thinking why isn’t this just a duel stick game? Surely that would work much much better. Beautifully done, and the Nintendo comparison is spot on. I’m finding that it controls like a driving game! Rocco SE likes this. Micro Machines is a good reference point. It really just need to click, then you cannot blame the controls at all. orangecan Well-Known Member Aug 9, 2011 2,000 150 63 #15 orangecan, Oct 3, 2020 I’ve got a bit more used to the controls now, I still wish they were slightly less sensitive but I’m getting used to it and enjoying it a lot more. orangecan Well-Known Member Aug 9, 2011 2,000 150 63 #16 orangecan, Oct 3, 2020 Has anyone any idea where the mid level save points are please? First time I’ve had to quit a level (5) without finishing it and I assumed it would save mid level because one of the options is restart from checkpoint, but when I restarted it was from the beginning. I’m not sure exactly how far I’d got but I’d gone past a few places that, what I thought, were obvious checkpoint locations. I hadn’t got any orb things yet so I did wonder if that might trigger a checkpoint? Thanks orangecan Well-Known Member Aug 9, 2011 2,000 150 63 #17 orangecan, Oct 3, 2020 Ok well I’m still not sure where the save points are because I played it through, but the level I was talking about was Venomous Forest (not 5), and the saved game started me from the level beginning, but with the first ‘fight’ section completed. However, there was a bug, in that the thing to put my sword into to change the path had just disappeared! Previously you had to get a bomb, blow up a rock to get to the mechanism, which I’d done on my last game and progressed to the next part, but this time the rock and other thing weren’t there so I couldn’t do anything. I restarted the level from scratch, and all worked fine except that a chest that I’d looted the last time was empty and already opened... anyway, if anyone does know where it saved I’d still be grateful!
