The big question: Is it better than the long existing other Skype clients in the shop (fring, Nimbuzz, IM+ for Skype, Truphone)? Is there any advantage of the official client? The Skype functionality of Truphone works perfectly for me, so I wonder why this official client should be something to be excited about.
I knew my in-ear Apple headphones with in-line remote would come in handy one day. This works pretty well on my Touch. Haven't tried any other clients so I can't compare.
This is kinda dumb, but the one thing I use truphone most for is to find my phone phone. I always loose that damn thing and now I can just call it from the ipod. Works like a charm
Haha! I've been around pal. Posting in the dev forum mostly, but the odd post in the others here and there too. Thanks for the compliment. Back on topic, do any of the other clients allow you to view webcam video?
Hrm. Downloaded it and installed it but it crashes on my phone, possibly because it's jailbroken. It's a random crash. Before it crashes I'm able to make calls via WiFi. I am in Canada btw (where you cannot download this app on the store). If any canadians get this running via jailbroken phone let me know. Edit: Read comments from several users on different websites and it seems everyone using a jailbroken device is experiencing the crashes Maybe a new version will correct this.
For those with an iPhone, can't you get the $30 unlimited out calling in the U.S. and essentially have unlimited anytime minutes with this even without WiFi for $2.50 a month?
This has been free for a long time, I don't see what the big hype is about. I mean yeah it's about time they add Landscape mode, but it's nothing new.
Just register a US or Chinese iTunes account. So simple. I don't think anyone actually follows Apple's and copyright "rules" these days. Sooner or later they're gonna realize restricting certain apps from appearing in certain stores just means people are gonna register multiple accounts and download them anyways.
