Hello; You can check the new app from realtech VR : SkyORB 3D. It's a swiss knife tool for astronomer, entirely in 3D, OpenGL ES 2.0 capable with shaders and normal map. It's free of charge, with a Premium version that can be unlocked with the In App Purchase. There is a planetarium, a star gazer view mode (with GPS and Digital Compass if available), Sun rise/set time, Moon rise/set time and phase, a search engine, a world map sun clock. We are developing this engine since 2002. It's quite complete. Check this out: This is entirely 3D realtime rendering of course : http://linktoapp.com/skyorb/ http://www.realtech-vr.com/skyorb/
Hi, Would you mind posting the price and size of the Premium version? Looks very nice and at the moment I am using another Astronomy app but this is tempting. If the price is right, I might consider it. David
Re: Price and Size The application is free of charge. The full version is included, you need to activate it by purchasing from the In App Store. Premium price is introduced to 2.99$ App size is <10MB and you can sync some database online (like the minor planets, current comets and satellite (ISS, and current space shuttle mission for example).
