I tried the game on airplane mode (no internet). when you are dead you can continue either by spending blue gems or watching videos (adds I assume). i will try the game on newer devices in order to see if the micro lags are due to my old ipad.... Thanks on this find yall! I have tried hard difficulty & it'z way generous with gems & you are able to keep your gem counter locked for your advanced weapons. The videos seem to pay out more as well. These Bosses are sick! I really like the pause shop. The hard difficulty helps here too on collecting more gems earlier to spend on your choice of perks for your fly thru. I have unlocked four ships so far being fond of Cold Sword with a spinning saw as my advanced weapon. I wish the Dev would visit bcuz i am seriously having fun Yo! No idea how I didn't stumble across this one sooner, but I decided to give it a shot today. I kind of expected it to be another throw-away shmup that I'd play for about 2-3 minutes and then exit and delete. However.... this is an AWESOME endless shmup!!!! I didn't notice the upgrade/power-up purchase screen for the first few games and was wondering how in the hell I was going to ever be able to play with the more powerful ships, but then I accidentally hit the pause screen and there they were-6 little upgrades that completely changed the game for me! =D Anyway, I'm really diggin this, and am VERY glad to have come across it while browsing the AppStore. I'm pretty surprised it's free AND has no IAPs. The ads all seem to be opt-in, and are used for free gems and continues - though, with the 100,000 gems you get the first time you boot up the game and are asked to write a review (you don't have to actually leave one, just hit 'ok' and close the AppStore when it pops up) is pretty insane with continues costing 100 for the first, 350 for the 2nd and 600 for the 3rd - I've never watched an ad to use a continue, and I don't think I'll ever have to. The only complaint I've got is that the enemy's projectiles can be kind of difficult to see around waves 10-15, when the action picks up a bit, and are really difficult to see once you hit wave 25 or so. It'd be awesome if they were brightened up to stand out more. But other than that, this game is frick'n fantastic. macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #7 macplash, Sep 14, 2019 @syntheticvoid I personally love these accidental stumbles on older games I missed during their launch. Sure, it sucks for the developer, but it feels right and oddly satisfying for me. I’ll gladly take a break from Sky Force and give this one a proper try. It combines shmup and pixel art, what could possibly go wrong, right? syntheticvoid likes this. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
