My mistake, I just edit my post. I think with horizontal scale will look like old games from 80s like Gradius (check it out on Google)
Level 2 on impossible + temp card for card drop active + card drop ship => 75%'ish chance for card drop
OMG someone go pick up my stupid wrecked body all over stage 7. I cannot for the life of me get into my groove. I have just lost 7-8 perm cards in a row. #
I've found Jay's carcass so many times and on so many levels he appeared on the main menu before you even get into the game. Lol Billy
I played a bit of 2014 today and got like 3 perm cards within 30 mins. I thought y'all said drops were rare? The PC version of 2014 is nice on my nice wide screen.
RNG - someone has to win the lottery - looks like you did. I have played days and days and days and days on the old 2014 and NEVER got a card. Even ID said they wanted the cards to be rare. But, I am glad for you.
Stupid question time! When starting a stage you get to load up 3 power ups. What exactly are they and what does putting more points into each do?
Damn, this game is good. Really enjoying the grind for stars. Outshines Air Attack even. Makes me feel about 10 years old, playing shooters like these. Only downside is the RSI...
This is where you buy the powerups for the level. They only last for that one level so be sure you use them. The one on the left is the shield. Makes you invulnerable for a short time. The middle one is the laser, shoots a powerful blast in a straight line, good for taking out a line of enemies or for zapping a powerful one. The one on the right is the bomb, kills all enemies and bullets that are within a certain radius. Very helpful for when you get in a sticky situation.
Thanks! The laser doesn't seem too useful as it doesn't last long enough. Bomb is so much better considering laser lasts only like 2-3 seconds and shoots in a thin line, and the bomb hits the whole screen.
How are some of you guys building up stars? I find that the most I can get in any given run is about 2400ish and I end up spending all of it on lasers, shields, and bombs which I find necessary to complete some of the later levels in harder difficulties. :-( I'm glad they're increasing the equipment caps, but I'm just not getting enough stars even with the 2x star in app payment option.
I restricted myself from buying powerups until I had everything maxed. Just cycle through each level until you find an objective you might be able to beat, and focus on that before moving on. Eventually you'll have tons of stars.
I used the same strategy. Built up the Magnet to max. Then moved on to my plane, then finally the goodies.
Level 7 on hard gets you about 2000 stars, and I only use 1 or 2 Shields and 1 laser to get through. I think you probably need to concentrate more on memorizing a level so you can anticipate fire power. Main Cannon being maxed first is whaI did and was very happy with that choice. I would not forget about the other stuff, bu I did about 3 main cannon to 1 of other things until it was maxed. The firepower makes a huge difference in not needing powerups, because stuff dies quickly, rather than relying on your dodging abilities.
Not true. The laser is really effective against single targets or sweeping the screen of helicopters. It is quite powerful maxed out and very useful for bosses. Of course, my favourite is activating the shield and using your ship as a ram, destroying helis and planes while collecting stars at the same time.
For me personally, Laser is the best single powerup in the game. Bomb's more powerful (damage+bullet cancelling) but it's very expensive. Lasers, when played right, can single-handedly take out a key turret, or a wave of smaller enemies with one sweep.
+1 to magnet first as well. And add lots of friends and do the video ad as often as possible. I finished upgrading everything almost a week ago and never spent a dime. The game is really generous if you are a little strategic and work hard enough. : )
