Have you gone back and read all the comments for 2014? The hate for level 5 is legendary. Don't worry this to shall pass. You will over come this great difficulty in time.
I've been really enjoying the game up to level 5 then I seriously considered how better to spend my free time. I'm going to persevere and try the alternate control method as suggested. Maybe collect a few more cards to hit that special ability hinted at. To be honest it's getting a bit repetitive and grindy for me so not sure how long it's going to last. I may restrict myself to short sessions to keep it fresh. It's kept me off Hearthstone so it has some redeeming qualities.
I never could pass level 5 in Skyforce 2014. However after many retries I made it through level 5 in reloaded and so far have 3 stars. It's not as hard as that level 5 in 2014. Just keep at it my friend. Billy
Level 5 hate is so strange to me. It seems like the easiest level by far. I think I played twice on normal to get all the trophies and once on hard to do the same. Insane is another story though. Perhaps now that I have the ironclad I can get everything on insane.
Actually, now that I have fully upgraded my ship and have most cards, I think the Ambulance ship is the best, which speeds up picking up crew. I find that at the harder levels, you are most vulnerable when you have to stay stationary waiting to pick those damn crew up (well...leashed). With the Ambulance ship,I can destroy the threats first and then go quickly back to pick crew up. Seems to work really well so far. Let me know what you think.
If gunning for highest scores, you should NEVER get hit, which means the drawback in the hp loss is negligible. In insane, you wont be strong enough to burst down and prevent enemies from shooting. Bullets will be everywhere. Sound familiar? Yeah, it's almost bullet hell in insane. Almost. Anyone comfortable with bullet hell games should know that speed comes first. Also, when a speed ship can destroy a turret in 5 seconds, take note that the power ship can destroy it in 4.5 seconds. That 0.5 seconds of difference is almost negligible because you have to factor in weaving in and out to avoid enemy bullets. That, and speed can reposition you quicker back to hitting your target.
Yeah ive been playing with this one earlier too. Seems to be really good in insane. It's pretty good at what it does, but doesnt do anything outside of that. I still preferred the speed one as it's more of a jack-of-all-trades than being really good at something like the Ambulance ship.
Best ships for each achievement: Iron Clad: This ship has an large amount of HP. I find it does well for rescue 100% and 100% kill. *Rescue: you can afford to take some damage while stationary and rescuing. *Kill 100%: it allows more breathing room to get in the fray to ensure enemy ships do not escape. Limp Berserker: This ship has max fire rate at the start. I find it great for the No Damage and 100% kill. *100% kill: it's great because it has such high damage, just buy a few shields to offset the weakness. *No Damage: it's perfect because you can purposely let regular ships pass you by if it's not safe to pursue and not worry about getting their "weapon upgrade" because you're already max. Also because you have max firepower, killing the boss faster will help with not getting hit. I mostly use Iron Clad for 100% kill and Enemy Rescue and Limp Berserker for No Damage. I'm only missing 8 bubbles, 4 on Lv 5 insane and 4 on Lv 8 insane.
Ugh I really don't like stage 5. I've done it like 20 times over and have consistently gotten only 98-99% stars. I can't find what I'm missing. Considering that this is the stage I like the least I just want to get it over with but I cannot figure out how to do it. I got the magnet temporal boost and have upgraded my magnet almost 10 times since I started that particular stage. Still can't get that last medal.
@L.Lawliet - Don't give up, you will get it eventually I think a lot of stages/medals have that 'no way, this is impossible' feel to them, but determination and naturally getting better as you play is key to success here. Plus upgrades... I'm having a similar problem to 2014, a fully upgraded ship and still not enough skill to get the 'insane' medals on later levels. If anyone wants some (average) competition. Thanks for the encouragement! (And everyone else that replied) I added you Though I've finally beat the level, getting 99% stars 5 times in a row after however long that level is, is very discouraging.. Not sure how I can get better at it besides continually buying magnet upgrades JUST for that level and neglecting all the other upgrades which I prefer. Honestly not sure why they put this level in the game if people didn't like the 2014 level very much Is it like a level you put in to kinda laugh at gamers and say "oh well too bad you must suck!" I honestly think that 100% star medal should be removed at this point and replaced with 90% stars.
Wait until you get the temporal card that fully activates the magnet. That's how I got 100% stars...without it no way!
I got it earlier. Still 99% T_T I wanted to slap this game so bad. I'm almost at 1 full magnet bar so Maybe I need it at two full bars or something. I'm guessing there's ONE tiny star at the edge of the screen somewhere that I can't see while I'm busy dodging.
Same story for me too, til i eventually got 100%. Took a few tries... Im sure yours will hit 100% too.
I was missing it too. It's right in the beginning on the edge left side of the screen, if you are not there fast enough-it moves over the edge too fast.
