You can get them again and again.

I actually like them, just because on the off chance that you get a card during a run that one is active, the card you get probably has to be a permanent card (at least that is my theory).

The problem is I shouldn't have to wait for those upgrades. I have levels I'm trying to beat and need the upgrades for. I've purchased all of the IAP plus many packages of stars. If I didn't make a single purchase and was totally free then I could understand the timers. However that is not my case. I shouldn't have to go grind while I wait. Even the TA review reflects this thinking.

Don't get me wrong. I've been supporting Infinite Dreams since 2004 and I love this game. But if I don't agree with something I say it. That's all. What level do you find best for grinding? So far with my upgrades the best I can do is barely beat level 3 on hard and I get between 1500 to 1700 stars.

I was able to complete all the cards. Card number 24 is a bit of a cop out. And to think that the last card in Sky Force 2014 was a very cool Night Camouflage plane, which is relagated to a card collecting plane with low health in this game. Lol

I now have 7 planes completed in this game. The only two planes missing are the ones in the upper and lower right, just like what was posted in the screenshot.

For some odd reason though, I am no longer getting parts for those two planes. Do I need to do a specific task?

Lv3 on insane... +/- 2700 stars per run. I buy 2 shields at the start of each run which is at -250 stars, giving me a net of around 2450 earned per run.

    Billy,

If you can manage to be able to consistently get through any of the levels on insane, you will get more than 2000 star. I think that easy level 7 netted me about 2500 stars. But those increased levels at harder difficulties can get pretty intense.

I never minded the grind. Look at it this way: Replay levels with the intent of constantly improving your score. Have a goal in mind when picking a level and/or difficulty. Go for that and try to finish in one piece. The stars will come.

Seems like the permanent card drop rate has increased; so far I've got 8. And only 2 ships left to unlock.

On a side note, I absolutely despise those super fast, rocket launching tanks!

I guess some cards have multipliers? Are card drops duplicated? I have got 3 card drop increase cards, no indication if this is multiplied?

PeterID mentioned ships parts are sent to friends? Has anyone got any ship parts from me on ships they dont have? I have got lots of stars from people, but never any ships parts.

As anotherkellydown says, its a grind, but a fun grind. I dont mind the grind as long as i am getting the occasional card drop or ship part. Its not as much fun for me when the drop rates are horrible (SF2014). This one seems to be more reasonable, although the card drop ship seems to do nothing. I get as many card drops with the heavy ship as with the card drop ship. Although I like the different looks of them all.

Does anyone know what the Lucky shield card does? I just got it but have no idea what it does. There's no description. I searched the thread and didn't see any response to someone else asking.

Random shield generation when you're about to get it.

It randomly shields you when you would have otherwise been hit.

I have that card but am not sure. I think there's a chance of a shield kicking in when needed, even if you don't have one? Thought someone posited that earlier. (Edit: you guys beat me to it # )

Speaking of. How much are people using (i.e. buying) manual abilities before a run? I've tried it a couple times but it drives be NUTS how the shield will kick in if I remove my finger from the screen for even half a second (usually to readjust because of relative position creep)! So I don't end up having them when I'd really need them (boss). Really frustrating. I think the workaround is to take my finger off much longer.

Lucky Shield is just that. PeterID did address it early in the thread.

If you get hit, sometimes you will get automatic shielding. Saved my butt a number of times using those weak ships.

I always remove my finger for a second or 2 to see what powerups I want to use. Unless the bullets are hitting you, the slow down generally allows you to think about what you want. More frequently I figure I can dodge, only to die ( really a nightmare when holding a card or ship piece - why didnt I just use a shield?).

I virtually never buy anything at the beginning of a run. However, I have a startup shield card, and have cards that let me access lasers and megabombs in the level. You collect those powerups just like people having to let the colored circle fill then the powerup pops out.

The EMP is much more reasonable than in SF2014. I can actually get through the level without getting hit. The EMP in SF2014 was very fast and very difficult to dogde. This one keeps one on their toes, but able to maintain with focus.

Final boss is great!!! Long battle, toe curling. I shudder to think about hard and insanity.

Thanks everyone. I really searched every page and didn't see Peters response. I apologize.

On another note I JUST got another card that extends the rescue rope! Now THAT is awesome!

I can't wait to get more cards lol

It seems I'm happier finding permanent cards (which are way rarer it seems) than I am actual ship parts :)

Agreed! Only have 3 permanent cards thus far and am on level 7.
