I guess I love this game so much that I don't consider it a grind. Just played a lot because I like it so much. Personally, I love the sense of progression you get from upgrading your ship and trying for all the medals. I honestly don't see where the frustration is coming from, unless some people just wanna blast through the game and be done with it.
Speaking solely for myself, playing approximately 500+ times over 8 levels (first 4 levels on 2 difficulties each) and not seeing a single card is frustrating. Getting to level 5 and realizing that I am miles away from being able to merely survive, let alone do well with the gear I have earned grinding the first 4 levels for weeks is frustrating. Upgrading an item 10-15 times and not noticing any appreciable difference is frustrating. I don't "suck at games," I don't want to "blast through in a day and move on," I merely want to feel some sense of progression and the satisfaction that comes from getting better and stronger at a task, and it was tough with this game. Part of what makes the game fun is the progression and the upgrades. I don't have the "skillz" to be really good at the hard levels, so collecting cards was a way to have some goals to continue to make the game a challenge and I like games that I can collect things - whether it is upgrades, or cards, or whatever. So, when the ship upgrades are done, and I reach a level that I can't really get beyond as far as levels or score, then collecting cards makes the game fun - except there are no cards to collect... they never show up.. well I guess 1 card in 3 weeks of playing for about 2 hours a day is not never... just seems like it.. Oh, DBC, thanks for your post. You put it well.
I'm pretty sure there's actually an effect for each upgrade bar. Also, later levels give a lot more stars. Cards certainly have a bad drop rate.
Got a cr Ard on lvl 1 and another on lvl 6 the last couple of times I played, both nightmare difficulty. So, any news reg. the winter levels? Cheers, leo
So are the chances to get a card related in any way to difficulty level??? I haven't seen a card for 2 months playing 6 on hard, I went on 4 nightmare and the same day there was a card, but I died right after and it was sooooooo frustrating I stopped playing since that
I think the card drops vary on your level and how upgraded your ship is. Plus the difficulties unlocked. Im still missing around half the cards and they have stopped showing up as much. Btw pls add me on gamecentre for tournaments, it's my user name just above. Thanks.
Unfortunately that hasn't always been the case with me. I'll leave the game "open" in the background for a couple of days and get nothing. On another note, I just got my last card today! Never looked so good in black. Ha ha!
I think you are probably playing lvl5 wrong, your gear doesn't really matter for that one (unless youare going straight for the achievement on that level)
Any cards showing up or are they still too valuable to distribute to more casual players ? Maybe if no one plays the card drops will be higher? No more buying ID games, shame really.
I was hoping someone could help me with keeping my iPad and iPhone sync'd for this game. My ipad cannot keep up with the iPhone. I would try leaving it on all night to catch up but that still does not help. I have plugged them both into my computer and sync'd them but that still does not help. I am logged into Game Center on both devices too. Anyone else had this problem? Thanks!
