Friend rescues and VIPs should give stars. But points? That's quite an annoyance. You'd need to have a bunch of people go die in a level before you play, so you can save them. And a VIP's points would require waiting a day for a VIP to show up and hoping it shows up in the right level. Not fun at all. It actually does this...?! They said VIPs don't... A glitch?
Jesus, I can't believe I actually have to say it, but don't stars have a points value anyway? So if you get more stars, you get more points. And yes, they said that, but it doesn't happen. Give it a rest. It is what it is. Some will like it, some won't. This particular topic is getting rather tiresome now...
Of course I know that, but it's not that simple. Why should you have to do these crazy preparations of having people die in the stage for you and wait a day for a random stage to have the most points available? That's my point: It doesn't make sense, and it's really annoying to have to do this.
I too noticed a huge boost in score when I saved a VIP in level 5. I wasn't even trying that game and ended up with a personal high.
If anybody's adding, add me too. Right now I only have top players on my roster that I got to from the game center leader board. I'd like more people in my league. Weird it only lets you see top players and not ones around your own score.. I'm quizoidz in Game Center.
As far as I've been playing the game, you are able save your friends 'Once' in a stage where they lost their ship. Normally, you'd find a lot of friends to rescue at the part where you're fighting a difficult enemy boss (i.e. 7th and 8th stage). What I do to rescue them would be at the 'easy' or 'normal' mode and prolonging the boss fight (I try and avoid hitting the enemy boss and let my rockets do the work) until I see a ship that needs saving. Now, if you're not aiming for a higher score and just plan to complete the achievement, this is the way to do it. Otherwise, you can go with 'insane' mode. My recommendation would be stage 5, since there are a lot of ships to be fitted. You can also go with stages 7 and 8 for the end boss part. Feel free to add me as your friend for an additional ship to save. Remember, more friends = more ships to be fitted, and more stars for the additional score at the end. Btw, not entirely sure if saving friends from the tournament zone counts, I was able to complete mine by doing stages 1 - 8 only. Somehow, I didn't notice the achievement increase whenever I fitted ships from the tournament zone. So there you have it! Have fun and Good luck, Matey! Cheers!
Will you listen to yourself?... "CRAZY PREPARATIONS" You don't HAVE TO do any of this. You're not calling up your friends and asking them to die for you. You're just saving the ones who have died already. From your confusion I take it you are unaware of that fact of life, where you get more if you make an extra effort. If you are still confused about this, maybe someone else can explain it for you. I give up.
Crapple2011: Here's my current scores: 1: 1 273 500 2: 1 982 625 B1: 671 625 3: 3 253 500 4: 3 295 425 5: 4 014 000 6: 3 217 800 7: 4 181 325 8: 6 824 400 Im 99% sure that these scores are without saving any friends as according to GC I have only completed that mission to 20% which is 2 saves and I cant recall saving any when setting personal records. As for VIPs I havent saved a single one, tbh I dont remember even seeing one...
I don't know if it has been said before but I think the "No damage" medal on stage 8 is glitched. I've tried a lot to get it, and twice I was sure to get it but did not. My health was 100% till the end without health bonus. Maybe it has to do with the shield ? Anyway it would be really nice to have some kind of indicator in the pause menu for the medals (no damage, all enemies, all people)
It's not a glitch, mate! What you have to do to achieve this is equip your shield right after you destroy the first wave of guns on the final battle(The part where you hear him laughing). It's where he uses the two big cannons that emits electricity. Now, without your shield equipped, you will notice your screen turning red (which means, you just got damaged whilst life at 100%). It does not subtract anything to your life, but certainly nullifies the 'no damage' medal. I hope I was able to be of any assistance. Cheers and Good luck! @crapple2011 Thanks for the video! Got inspired, played through again today and finished it with 70% and all humans (yay me!). now i can grind my teeth on the 100% and untouched... :-/
I have been playing many times already, revisited earlier stages, but still i can't find the cards.. this is so frustrating.. you guys have any tips on finding the cards?
Try the 100% first, it's easier in my opinion. For the untouched medal I used a different strategy than shown in the video, basically ignoring all the waves of small planes that are no harm for you and hard to catch. Also I didn't use the mega bomb at the part with the 2 lasers on the side as keeping the mega bomb was more important for me than maybe getting a laser. I love the laser and mostly prefer it to the mega bomb as it's much stronger, but for staying untouched the mega bomb is more important as a defensive weapon. For staying untouched also I waited with the shield longer before the 2 fast shooting turrets, so I can take out the turrets with the laser also, to then be able to stay at the very bottom of the screen and hit the windmill as early as possible - this windmill is extremely dangerous btw as even the debris from it's explosion will damage you if you don't hit it as fast as possible and stay at the very bottom of the screen to stay out of the blast radius where the debris lands.
Thanks kakkaduan! What are the stats for the stage 8 result? I guess 100% enemies and 100% humans, but did you get all stars or stay untouched also? Here my current standings: 01: 1.273.500 02: 1.983.375 B1: 668.175 03: 3.241.500 04: 3.298.425 05: 4.005.750 06: 3.242.325 07: 4.178.550 08: 6.795.975 Total: 28.687.575 Also I certainly don't have any friends rescued in those results and I have never even seen a VIP. Also I have never seen stars appear when rescuing a friend, so dunno how this can impact the score if it gives no points and I see no stars.
IRL you might get more when you make an extra effort, there are no guarantees. I'm playing the game for fun, I don't need any real life imperfections in a game, they are annoying enough in real life, this does not need to be simulated. Also in real life I am certainly not getting rewarded if I don't show up for work for 2 days and then solve the problems that have only arisen because I didn't show up for 2 days
Does anyone know how far we can upgrade the weapons / health, etc? I had them all upgraded and then a few weeks later the wing cannons became an option to raise up through level 4. That got me wondering how that happened and if any of the other weapons or health would allow me to do that in the future. Not sure if that was just an upgrade or if I did something (like achievements) that triggered the better upgrade. Thanks!
You can upgrade all of the weapons up to level 3 except the for health and wing cannons which can be upgraded to level 4.
I'd love for these guys to create a side scrolling shmup. Something like Sine Mora but with out the ridiculous time mechanics and giant black borders.
