I believe that is this game's "you haven't played in a while, come play with me!" annoying notification. You are the missing agent. Ha ha. Nothing special happened when I started the game from that notification so that must be what it is. I commented on this earlier. It really is a pointless annoying notification. Imagine all your games doing that. And if you turn off notifications for this app you won't get any real notifications from it, so that won't work.
I can't get to the hard level of stage 7. I had tried many times. It always said "chain lost" at the part where I had to shoot the big plane after the many small planes. I am pretty sure I destroyed it. I am always stuck at 99% of enemy destroyed because of this. Also, I remember seeing a post where someone commented about not able to get the medal for staying untouch at level 6 insane mode. I have the same issue. It says 100% untouch with 5000 points but the medal did not show up. I am wondering if others are seeing the same issues.
This is not your typical annoying notification. When you see the VIP next to a level it means that one of the guys you can rescue will be special. He will be green instead of red, he will have a distinct smiley face in his caption, and if you rescue him he will drop a lot of stars. He drops more stars on higher difficulties. It seems that he is usually replaces one of the last men that you can rescue in the level. Finally the level will continue to show VIP until: 1. You rescue the VIP. 2. Your tablets time passes midnight. Every day new day on your tablet, the game will put either a VIP on a random stage, or give you a 50% discount on a random upgrade (only good for 1 upgrade). If you adjust your tablets date by 1 day and keep switching between the game you can get lots of discount and VIP levels this way. Happy grinding!
I didn't notice anything on the level select... Do these require connecting to the Internet? But then why would changing the date work? So why haven't I been receiving either of those notifications daily? Are they only if I actually don't play for long enough?
You do not need to be online for the discounts or the VIP levels to show up. I played this game exclusively offline after purchasing the star doubler and ship count upgrades. I have noticed a few interesting things: A few times when changing the date of the tablet, I did not receive a discount or VIP level. This may be because a level was selected for VIP that I did not have unlocked or possibly an upgrade discount was selected on an upgrade I had already maxed out. I have never seen a VIP on a level I had not had at least 4 medals on. I had Level 1-7 unlocked, however only 4+ medals on level 1-5. I only saw VIP on level 1-5, this may or may not be a coincidence. There are no ads in offline mode. You can use the date/time on your device to instantly complete upgrade timers or refill your ship timers. Advice: If you're grinding stars, I'd suggest switching the game date/time until you see VIP and then complete that level. The extra stars from the VIP really add up. If you fail the level without rescuing the VIP, he will still be there. Play on the highest difficulty possible for that level to maximize your star gain. Some upgrades can become very costly at higher levels, so it can be worth it to switch back and forth between the devices date/time and the game to look for those 50% upgrade discounts on desired upgrades. Doing this can save you thousands of stars in exchange for just seconds of your time.
I am on Level 7 insane now. I can't even comprehend how I am going to get 100% kills, but I will have fun trying.
That's a strange bug. I tried the date change trick and it worked for me. It is the first time I have seen a VIP in a level before or the symbol on the map. I have received the notifications but nothing ever appeared before. I hope a bug fix update comes out soon.
Love this game. I noticed some of my "friends" show up in large circles and are able to get rescued while others, including myself, show up in smaller circles and are unable to get rescued. Is there any logic behind this? Also, when you complete a level, occasionally I can get stars from my friends. Is the amount and availability random or is there some science behind it? Just trying to figure this game out. Thx
I got the missing agent/VIP notification recently. Nothing on the stage select. I've gotten to stage 7. I have all four medals for stages 1-6 on Normal. Also I'm pretty sure I've received discount notifications without a discount before. Another missing agent notification, nothing on the stage select...
Once a friend has been saved once they turn into a small circle. Also, if you for before you clear the stage, they don't count as a rescue for GC as you have obviously gone down in a furry ball of death. Whether you get stars or points when picking them up is random, just like crates.
You get stars from your friends based on how many runs they have done since the last time you played. Basically, the more they play, the more stars you get (max 100).
I suspect you are playing on IOS? I don't think the notifications work properly and need a fix. It doesn't really change much other than keep you from getting the GC achievement and slightly better high scores.
Yeah I keep getting these notifications too only to find noting, even if you're connected. How do you get others to join you. Also I can understand a couple of the iaps but if you want no ads just turn off your wifi! You don't need it to play a solo game.
