Glad it's working for you Bytebrain. Here's the way I got it for anyone wondering... Also, destroying the turrets will often yield a laser which will make taking them out much easier. Make sure to use them - you can't take them with you after the level is over
I used Anotherkellydown's advice to make it through. I'll quote him: That did the trick after a few attempts. It's actually hardest in the beginning of the stage, as there's not much space. After a while the stage opens up a bit, and gives you more room to maneuver and avoid the EMP. It's hard not to hit stray bullets, but many of the towers in the beginning releases health when shot. Later on, lasers is released very often. Another thing that I believe is important on this level is to not keep your finger on or even close to the ship, it's harder to see the EMP and bullets because your hand is obstructing the view. I keep my finger a good two centimeters below the ship, it helps immensely. Bear in mind though, keep your ship as high on the screen as you can, so you don't suddenly find that your finger is moving on the bezel on the iPad and your ship isn't moving, which can happen in the beginning of the stage where there's less wiggle room. I'm assuming most people play the game on the iPad, I've tried it on my iPhone, but for me, it's all but impossible to see the small bullets from tanks and some towers on that little screen, and my finger obscure so much of the screen that it's not as enjoyable as on the iPad at all. But hey, I'm 46, and my eyes aren't what they once were.. EDIT Ha, here I was quoting Anotherkellydown, and while writing this lengthy post, he beat me to it. ^^
I finally made it through level 5 on Hard. Tonnk Montana is right, it's not impossible at all. I just made it harder for myself, as I wanted to complete all the objectives in one go, which made it much harder than if I just wanted to survive the level. I didn't get all four objectives, but I got all the stars, (70% and 100%), and rescued all the people. I didn't made it unscathed though, so I'll have to take a couple of runs to complete that one. When I make it, I've got to Insane Difficulty on all the levels. And last I looked, we were 55% from unlocking level 7. Great!
a trick I've noticed is that the EMP can't turn on a dime, so if you get almost close enough for it to hit you it will try to circle around, but it does so in a circle that you can exploit. I've tried getting it into a sort of sideways figure-eight pattern by moving back and forth, but I haven't been able to juggle that and dodge bullets so far.
This video makes no sense as Stage 5 doesn't allow you to buy power-ups and I don't even see an EMP pulse following you at all. Very confused here.
The EMP appears a few times. Look at around 1:00, 1:20, 1:45 and 2:25. But yeah, it is pretty weird how it's not visible most of the time, and also how they have an unlimited supply of shields even before picking up any in the level. Seems like someone's figured out how to hack the game.
Hey guys, thanks for adding me in the game center. But now there are questions ... First: since I have ingame friends now, after completing a level a list with the names of said friends shows up, and behind of some of them is a golden star with a number, and you can click it and a cash like sound is to hear. Have I just earned stars? Or have I payed them? :O Second: What is this tournament actually? How does it work?
Guys I just barely finished Stage 5 without getting hit by the EMP but no Achievemebt unlocked for me. What happened? A bug?!
@Sdomermpc you are cheating! Why do you have 20 lives? Why shield, laser and mega bomb are unlimited? It Is simple You hack the game!
I have 20 lives and I didn't hack anything. I know I started the game with 10, and I'm not sure when it increased. It might have been when I bought the plane generator IAP, or maybe it's due to some in-game milestone. Regarding not always being able to see the EMP, in his last post he claimed if we watch the video in full width we'd see it. There is no option to do so on youtube, but maybe his capture software cut off the edges of the video. The thing that definitely still seems fishy to me is how many shields he has. I see him getting lots of laser powerups when he takes out the lasers, but I don't think I see him picking up shields ever, yet the shields are always full. Just to be clear, I don't think there's anything wrong with people hacking a single-player game to make it easier if that's what they find fun. I wouldn't personally find that fun, but whatever floats your boat... I just don't want this confusing people by being passed off as a "walkthrough" if it's not actually possible to do that without hacking the game.
I'm not sure why I have it, because I didn't notice right away when it changed. I just know that when I bought the game I had 10 lives, and then at some point later I noticed I had 20. I don't know if it had to do with the IAPs or my game progress. I've purchased the ad remover, plane generator, and star doubler IAPs. And I've attached a screenshot showing my game progress. Notice it says 20/20 in the start button. Edit: sorry, for some reason I thought your post was a question, but I just realized you're stating that is the case. Question answered then.
He has definitely hacked the game. Don't believe this 'walkthrough'. On Stage 5 you can't buy shields, lasers or bombs. You only get them by destroying crates and towers, yet he/she has a full compliment of everything at the start and they never get used up. Stage 5 on Insane is possible...but it is hard. I posted a screenshot of 'rescue all crew' which is by far the hardest medal to get...to give you hope. It can be done (it took me two weeks of coming back to it but...you get a lot of stars in the process). Good luck!!
Hmm, I don't have the 360p and 480p options in my browser, just 144p and 240p. In any case, those shouldn't change the aspect ratio or what we can see, just the quality of the video.
