Oh yeah... I hate the stage 7 wall too. Pretty retarded to put a barrier on it until there are 100,000 people who have completed stage 6.

With how difficult the game gets, and how slow upgrade progress is at the start, i dont know if it even gets 20,000 people to complete stage 6.

thanks a lot for the reply:) just gotta upgrade my health more before I attempt the level again.

I have a killer crush on my iPad Retina. The game plays fine on my iphone 5 but my iPad Retina crushes every single time the game finished the tutorial level and you go into the main map. Reinstalling and updating the game didn't solve anything

Yeah, agree with the above members talking about the stage 7 barrier: as I already said before it's just plain absurd... (I bought all IAPs just to discover I can't play the Whole game... that really sucks and if I knew I'd never bought them)
Dear devs, do you think that when all those (95000 left!) players will reach stage 6 to make possible for me to play stage 7 I will be here patiently waiting to play it?
I'm playing at your game RIGHT NOW, but for the time the requirements to let me play stage 7 will be fulfilled, I'll be probably and hopefully be playing a new CAVE shmup, spreading the word about it...
Players and, most of all, SUPPORTERS, need much more respect.

I'm just curious, how effective is the "planes generator" IAP? I already bought star doubler and ads removal, because this game deserves it, but the most annoying part for me is to have just 10 planes and than I have to wait, which is ridiculous considering I'm expecting to play when I want not when the dev tells me I can, right? so if I buy this IAP, how decreased are the waiting times?
Reading the previous posts and complains about the stage 7 being blocked, are you achieved all the medals for previous stages? When I'm playing other games I never move forward if I don't have 3 stars for the level, a little bit stupid maybe, but I'm enjoying the challenge. In this case I'm stuck in stage 5 to achieve "stay untouched" on hard, so I didn't even try the stage 6 yet, but I understand your frustration;)
Anyway, this game is amazing, I love the polished visuals and sounds, the challenging gameplay is a must (it's still not that hard compared to R-Type on ZX Spectrum back in the days LOL), let's enjoy it;)

Any chance for an arcade mode where we can play the stages consecutively like in the original form?

And question: how many "levels" do each upgrade have? My main cannon now has a '3' in its graph.

That's the max. You just need to fill up the upgrade bar.

    Hi everyone!

Tomorrow we'll have a talk at the office and try to re-evaluate the numbers fro stage 7. Please don't think of it as a lack of rescpect - it's not meant to be so. We've invested a lot of work and resources to create Sky Force and with a F2P model it just needs to have a large user base. Perhaps we've been too optimistic about the launch but, as I've said, we will crunch the numbers again. Please give us some time to do that.

I'm happy to see some of you getting along with the upgrade timers, regardless of previous experiences with them. Yes, we could have added the installation price to the upgrade price but managing them is a sort of mini-game I've described earlier. With Plane Generator active (@macplash: 30 times speed increase) it's only up to you if it's still a timer or a slightly more expensive item.

@Bronxsta: Thanks for your elaborate post, I fully appreciate your point of view. As you've noticed the scope of iOS players is far beyond us, passionate gamers. Sky Force simply has to appeal to the most of them. But, hopefully, it doesn't mean that the rest should be unsattisfied. I strongly encourage you to try the Planes Generator. Not to get your 2 bucks, but for you to enjoy the game as you'd like to. If you try it, and are unhappy (or loose all your planes within that 30-40 minutes, without dying on purpose ;-) I'll gift you any iOS game you choose, say, up to 10 bucks :] Deal?

@OriginalDex: I'm really sorry to see you feel ripped. And to see this progress bar has ruined the great feelings you've had for the game thus far. Please, give us a little time to see how the situation evolves and evaluate the numbers vs. feelings.

    Best regards,
    Peter,
    Infinite Dreams.

@PeterID: Sorry bud, but from your words I understand that you're only going to REDUCE the number of players required to play stage 7... and that's NOT a good thing imho...
Simply put: do you think is right to buy a Ferrari just to discover you can't use it until other 100 persons buy one?! C'mon... it's not that hard to understand the frustration...
And, most of all, I'm really, really bothered right now by your constant attempts to sell us awful barriers and limitations for good things: c'mon, we're not that stupid yet, man.
A game that tells me when I can play with it is a good thing in your opinion?! Really?! Was this your dream as a player?
I would accept you saying "this is our strategy marketing, if you don't like it delete our game and go buy and play another one", rather than what I think are somewhat pathetic (no offence) attemps to justify all the mess you made with the freemium structure of this game...
So, once again: is this game potentially brilliant? Yes.
Am I happy and satisfied with this game (having also spent my money for IAPs)? Absolutely no.
Have you devs reached your purposes? I don't know, cos if your purpose was making players and supporters satisfied and happy with your game, you failed miserably.

However, sorry in advance, I didn't mean to use harsh tones, but I've had enough reading things like "timers are good cos they are part of the gameplay" or "yeah, it's part of the fun having to wait other players to reach stage 7 to help you go through it".

Ok...I feel it is only right to chime in here after playing the game extensively.

Again, I personally don't have any problem with the timers. They are used to ill effect in a lot of games but here they give a sense of accomplishment when something actually does get upgraded...incrementally. By comparison, I still play Honor Bound and one research timer can be 10 days so...not bad on the wait time IMO. I sometimes feel that everyone wants to finish the games that they love in 1-2 days and I say...what is the fun in that? If you love the game and the effort put into engrossing yourself in a crafted environment...don't you want it to last a while? The progression here is a bit grindy but I am still finding the gameplay fun. On that note, I totally agree with previous comments that I would love to see a marathon option to make it through all stages on X number lives...

As for the lock on the 7th level...I am going to have to agree with the forum on this and want to see it go. I understand the intent by the Devs and I think we should all cut them some slack on this one. This mechanic has been used before. An example is Cytus which has been quite successful and is still waiting to be fully unlocked after a year or two. The mechanic is sound but IMO it is misplaced here. Maybe if there were double the levels or there was a special section that unlocks via this social mechanic, that would be great. It has no place in the main campaign however...this is where I agree with the forum.

I think we all agree that the game is pretty awesome, addicting and looks great. Because we can all see the potential, this forum has been quite active. I can't wait to see how and if it improves because I want to be playing this game long into the future. Here is for hope...

It's not a matter of wanting to finish the game quickly at all!

The game puts an artificial ceiling on the game, where we have to wait on timers for an upgrade we bought, which robs the player of the gratification of jumping back into the game to see if that upgrade will help clear a level one is struggling with.

This is a time honered mechanic that is found in most other great games of its kind, bar some recent iOS freemium games.

As for the reason timers is implemented at all, it's pretty obvious when there's an IAP option to buy 5000 stars for two bucks.

Have anyone cleared level five collecting all the stars?

I swear, I've picked up every single one, swerving from left to right to be sure I haven't missed any.
I've done this four times, each time sure that I've succeeded, but I don't get the medal.

I respect your opinion, but if someone want to finish the game in 1/2 days, without having fun (as you said), well it should be HIS/HER CHOICE, not someone else's... and, really, do you think the devs are so "warm-hearted" to adopt these kind of mechanics just to "lead" the impatient players towards a more "mature way" to enjoy the game? I personally don't think so... ;)

Are there any other weapons besides the pea shooter that you start off with?

    It's slow, inaccurate and weak.

The help suggests there are things like lasers but those seem to be 1 time uses.

Is it worth getting the coin magnet?

Or would the missiles be a better investment?

I don't understand all the hate here really. It's not like you are locked out of playing (except from stage 7 from what I hear but I didn't get that far yet). If you REALLY want to carry on past 10 planes or get an instant upgrade you can. If you are that good of a shmup player you can get those stars back with just 1 of your 10 planes anyway (with the star doubler).

Or just wait a whole 30 mins and have a little break, it's not such a big deal is it?

Either way it would be nice if everyone could stop shouting at the devs. They provided an awesome game for FREE... they need to make money somehow.

It's fair to let them know feelings on it of course, but I think they got the message now.

Stage 05 absolutely murders me:/:/ any tips on completing it? Playing on iPhone makes it very difficult navigating that stage cause you are covintng a big percentage of the screen with your thumb.:/ and the game doesn't even start on my iPad..

Try re-booting your iPad - it worked for me.
It's a memory issue. Despite Apple's best efforts, iOS doesn't always free RAM to make room for other apps.

With memory hungry games like this, it's always good practice to force-quit the game and re-booting the iPad/iPhone.

Let's hope Apple comes to their senses on the next generation of iDevices and doubles or even triples the amount of RAM on them.

My main advice is practice and go slow. If you move too fast, you risk running into things. Learn when the enemy will fire and lead the fire to where you want. This way, you can lead the fire away from obsticles that you'll dodge after the firing stops. Hope this helps a little.
