Maybe he is going off the number of employees and the number of sales per day he gets? Hope that doesn't include people with multiple accounts on one device. Or people who share their itunes accounts with up to 5 people and they can install sky burger that way without paying...
Well yeah since you can do different nametags, a whole household can hold off on one copy of the game.
Every player slot on a device is considered a seperate "employee". Employees are only recorded after they have played for a minimum of 5 burgers. Each employee reports whether they are playing on a valid copy of the game.
Look out for our review on this sometime next week. First impressions, it's far far better than Scoops - if only because rather more skill is needed, and you're working to a goal. Love the order system and the names for the burgers. Great game as always!
wtf?! Are you serious? That's very, very sad, I didn't expect that so many people crack apps, especially those for 1 buck. ---- I didn't hesitate a second to buy this app, I just read "Ian Marsh", stopped reading the article und now don't regret buying this game at all. Just another excellent game which I'll probably play for (too many) hours!!
u hv no idea how popular are cracked apps and i dun blame ppl for jailbreaking and even cracking 99cents app Think about it, why start buying apps EVEN if its 99 cents when u can get it for free...like my roomate, his iphone is jailbroken so he never buys regardless of the price. 99 cents do add up just imagine if u actually purchase 100 songs from iTunes... It's only logical! plus i get to try the games before ill purchase it for myself!
Just wondering, how did you technically achieve this? How do they games phone home? This is fascinating
That's pretty fast for cracking a game and making it free of charge... Didn't this game just get released like a few days ago? Eh I don't really care about pirating movies, songs, and PC games, since I never buy those $29.99 DVDs and they already make much more than enough money on those, but pirating iPhone games when they only cost like $1-5 is a pretty silly thing to do.
Please stop admitting to piracy. I really don't want to have to start deleting posts and handing out infractions. Sky Burger is a great game, if you somehow can't afford one dollar to buy it to play on your iDevice which at minimum cost you over $200... Yes, the App Store has a vibrant piracy scene, it's unfortunate, but there's nothing we can do about Apple's weak DRM. As far as how developer's detect it- http://thwart-ipa-cracks.blogspot.com/2008/11/detection.html
There are many ways to check if an app is pirated, and they're well documented on the web if you search for them. The progress reports are what sends the data, its just calling a web script on a server. If the player opts out of the progress reports, I don't collect any data.
ian, any ideas what you may be adding to the game down the road.? i was thinking after you make it to c.e.o. and make lets say 75,000$, make a retirement stage and have your son or daughter start as a trainee, like a pass the business down the family sort of thing, so you start the ranks over but keep your money total. not sure if thats possible or if its a good idea, i was just thinking of ways to keep adding depth to the rank system.
Just bought the game, and have been playing for the last 2.27 hours Much better than I expected, unlike in scoops, this game creates that "just one more try" sensation. Nice work Nimblebit! However, I'm not sure why this was initially compared to Diner Dash, this is not a tm game at all. While I still really enjoy the game, it would have been nice to see some more tm like features.
