Yes! Bought the minute I saw the release! Played the XBLA version, loved it, always wanted this on mobile, was popular on Windows phones, so happy it came out. If you love TBS games, you will love this one, plus same Devs who made the XBLA version.
Haven't tried it yet and I really wonder if this game can beat uniwar which is the best TBS game on IOS to my point of view.
The game looks really good, but I am sorry to say that their commercial is absolutely crap! I am happy that I bought the game before watching this commercial, otherwise I wouldn't have bought it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w27cA0YK674
As you'll see on Sanuku's video. The touch control/interface just shines with this game.. One of the best implementation imo..
Ah I've heard of this game! I do love my strategy games. Is it some kind of story mode or random maps? Doesn't seem like there's a lot of units according to the review which turns me off a bit :\ And wow is that commercial terrible. I feel like this game is targeted at middle schoolers now..
That's petty and ridiculous. The trailer is a satire / throwback / homage to awful video game commercials from the 80s-90s. Perhaps you're not old enough to know, but back then, this is how games were advertised to us. I laughed out loud first time I saw it.
saegemehl: we're looking into it! ste86uk: the turns aren't timed, so you have as long as you want to think about your turns.. multiplayer games can run anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes depending on how many players there are L.Lawliet: there is a single player campaign and multiplayer. iOS and Steam players can play against each other in multiplayer More info: http://skullsoftheshogun.com/?p=1293
Didn't see this on the main description but found it on your Facebook page, this is what sold me on it; "Skulls of the Shogun is a turn based strategy game featuring a 10-15 hour single player campaign, as well as 4-player local, networked, and asynchronous multiplayer." Looks great! ps. loved the commercial, total throwback to "old" nintendo/ sega game ads.
I am 33, so yes I am old enough to know about those old CM, but even if they are making fun of it, I don't think its good.
Wow... this game is... amazing. It plays really fluidly (though I do have problems stopping the dragging motion of characters and moving the screen - is there a better way to do this?) The game seems fairly long by looking at the map and seeing how the first level took me 12 minutes, and it was totally fun. The humor is awesome too. I don't play online so I can't give an opinion. I think some of the UI is cluttered, mainly on the menu and looking at details/stats. The font should probably be bigger and some of the buttons like "details" and "leaderboards" are too tiny. Even I have small fingers and it's hard to hit the exact button. Does anyone know what these emblems are? I'm confused. You randomly get some after battle and you can fuse to make better ones. But what's the purpose? @MrCharley: There are 27 achievements Who cares though when you'll be loving this game! Best game of the week. Looks like the exclusivity for this game on Windows phone came to an end - good for us! Go buy it now
Humm, game is crashing in first screen for me, rebooted iPad, kill all other apps, reinstalled game and still not working... On iPad 4, iOs 7.0.4
Btw, just a comment but I think the unit movement should've been "drag from unit" instead of "drag anywhere" in order to stop the accidental screen panning when controlling units.
I'm pretty sure the emblems are just a cool way to show your progress / achievements in the PVP, right? I don't think they do anything aside from look cool.
This game seems really good so far. I remember being interested when it first came out on XBLA, but it seems perfectly suited for touch screens!
