Okay, here's what I did. I bought the campaign and the dogfighting pack. I find the game pretty fun, and these two will add hours to my offline playing time. But the real appeal is in the multiplayer mode. I bought a plane and I take it into multiplayer. If you, for some reason or another, really hate campaign, the most expensive this game can get for you is $2.99, the price of a Zero, one of the better planes. However, I find that the campaign adds a lot of variety to this game. The replayability of this game, even if you do buy the campaign and dogfighting + skirmish, approximates the replayability, quality and hence, value, of a lot of handheld system games. And let me reemphasize that multiplayer costs nothing, though I do suggest you buy a better plane because the P40 sucks. I've been owning them all day. Of course, skill is more important than the plane, but the plane helps a bit. Though, I WILL be extremely annoyed if they adopt a pay-per-play scheme for their multiplayer, however awesome it may be.
I was thinking about buying one of the packs, could you suggest me which is better between the 100 dogfights and the 10 missions+plane? thank's.
Well I'm enjoying the mission pack. It covers things like blowing up trains, bridges, sinking ships as well as shooting down planes. Plus I picked up the Spitfire. I'd imagine the dogfight pack would be planes, planes and more planes.
the "+plane" plane sucks. Really. It's not much better than the original. I'd say just buy a plane and go into multiplayer. Let me lay out the pros and cons: Campaign + plane pack: You've got 10 missions. They're not bad for replayability. Also, you'll get plenty of dogfighting action in multiplayer. However, the plane sucks. It isn't much better than the P40, the original plane. Even then, it's skill that's important; the plane only helps. Dogfight + skirmish: 100 dogfights is pretty cool, though it probably can get slightly repetitive. The skirmish is really cool though: You can have maximum 16 players at one time. That's twice as many as multiplayer! Now, the above options costs $4.99. Let me make some more recommendations. If you're ever going into multiplayer, I suggest you buy a plane. Although skill is the more important factor, and always is, the plane does help to a certain extent. Of course, if a complete noob bought a Zero, they'd still get nowhere (I own Zeroes on a regular basis). But the plane does contribute somewhat, and it's cool anyway. Even in campaign, dogfight or skirmish, a better performing plane just feels sweet. Now, the most expensive plane costs $2.99. The one I bought costs $1.99, and if you read the stats carefully, it's actually better. If your focus is multiplayer, you may even want to consider just buying a good plane, and forgoing the campaign, skirmish, and dogfight. I bought them coz I want a well rounded game, and so far it's proving to be a worthwhile deal, and also to encourage the developer not to adopt a pay-per-play approach to the multiplayer. Now, the choice is yours. I don't want to tell you want to choose, i want you to decide, but with all the information available.
corsairs is the best deal for multiplayer and the stats are even with the zero like sierra said the stats are near identical most people seem to go for the German planes for some reason
When SGN charges for Multiplayer, I hope it will be a single charge. I cannot afford to continually pump quarters into this in order to play Multiplayer. I'd pay a one-time fee of a couple bucks MAX for unlimited Multiplayer. .
Imagine how good this would be with on the ground missions in tanks and stuff. Then your talking premium games.
Awesome combat flight simulator! I'm playing this App most. Though I'm Japanese, Zero fighter seems to be too strong. It doesn't have bulletproof power so much. It was called "One Shot Lighter".
really? i find it easy to shoot it down then again i am flying against people who don't seem to understand there are two fire buttons or who to aim (point and shoot people point and shoot)
I agree about the Zero, though. It's armor was known to be very light. The Corsair is about right. I think the truth of the matter would be that the P-51 Mustang would have the best overall stats.
Shawn, the producer of FAST pointed me towards this thread, well anyway i heard the producer came here often. So i have a question, how long will online multiplayer be free, and how will we pay for it in the future?
I broke Top 10 this afternoon! Unfortunately, since the leaderboard is strictly number of kills, even a mediocre pilot can get to the top if s/he plays long enough. Kill ratio at the time was 4.45:1
