Chonch, Kuneho and Hobo, your all right on this subject. I do feel that sometimes I am a part of it also and I have myself complained about the juvenile acts committed on FB. I guess all I need is a mirror! If TA was more active I would stay here more often but there again, I am part of the problem and not the solution.

If that's so, your's is to a lesser extent. I'm mainly bothered by SAW seeing as they are constant perpetrators

I feel the same way and that's why I'm posting here and not FB. I haven't posted anything since Sunday night. I hadn't checked the page all weekend and decided to see what was going on while watching Football and the whole page was spammed with pics of either fat chicks or crying babies. It was so stupid I had to laugh. But I also felt a little embarrassed to be a part of the community.

I've noticed that the best players for either squad are those that seem to post the least. [MOB]Hitman and Mayhem only post to say GG! or to reply to someone else. For SAW you've got Ace Rimmer, Banchee and [SAW]ZALL who do the same and are really good sports and some of my favorite guys to play with and talk to. I think Zack is actually SAW's best but he's an anomaly because of his age. It seems like SoG squads actually have structure and activity similar to real life street gangs. The toughest members are the ones that don't have to say anything and the most vocal and active are usually the newest members who are in a rush to prove their loyalty and skill but usually end up just walking around flashing their guns and running their mouths.

I don't have any interest in moderating the FB page. I've never been offended by anything that's ever been posted but I know I'm in the minority. MrsMeck had a SAW member remove of photo of a nude obese woman he posted yesterday and I understand her frustration. It must be annoying for LittleMeck to play and not be able to fully participate in the community because of the posts of a select few on FB. But that's the reality of the Internet. I hope the kid can someday post on the SAB page with mom or dad looking over his shoulder after he has a good game.

If the SoG FB page wants to become MOB vs. SAW 24/7 that's fine. I'm just relieved those of us who feel the need to move on still have TA.

Amen to that Chonch. I can't help but feel DW is incompetent though. Granted he's on vacation but he said that any unruly behavior would be dealt with in a previous discussion some months ago. Well since then, nothing has changed. SAW went back to being represented by running mouths.

Shern is Shern, you take him with a grain of salt. He's like Puck in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" stirring things up. Most of us who know him, know not to take him too seriously. He used to get bored and critique the hell out of every little aspect of every single plane. This was great actually! He was pretty much the first guy to start to develop plane specific tactics. At this he was absolutely brilliant. Unfortunately at some point he got bored with it... or rather I think what happened is he got bored and pissed at the zero III being so dominate that he felt it created such an imbalance in the game. He then created that xzIII group... which then lead him to start to create all kinds of squads. At this point things started to go downhill IMOP. Now people have started to square off into this whole squad rivalry thing. Not to say that that's a bad thing, it's just that sometimes it gets taken way too seriously. I'm all for some friendly rivalry, I think that adds to the fun. It's all well and good until someone looses an eye! I have seen some squabbles lately between people that I have always liked on Facebook and have wondered "WTF?" Why are they so angry at each other? I really try not to judge, people have a right to do their own thing but this is just a game after all. We like to play it to blow off some steam and then talk about the GG's later. That's what I find fun anyway.

Do you mean my #5 ranking with more kills and deaths than McDonalds has served hamburgers? Yeah I quit playing on my ipod touch as after I upgraded it to iOS4 it became unplayable. I then bought a Droid X and have been playing SoG on that. Unfortunately there is a bug with the Droids in the high score list. For every kill I get, it counts as 90. Since then I have agreed to be SGN's ginny pig. They have been tracking my account trying to figure out what's going on and have reset me three times already. I make it back into the top 5 in like three days everytime.... I wish they would reset me again...

If you guys wanna play something different while waiting for the update this online tank game is pretty awesome! But it does have some minor glitches, but surely those will be fixed.

the controls are smooth, graphics are good. i also wish theres like a ranking system that way people will be more motivated to play, such as highest frag rates.

I've had nothing to do with bad pictures posted in FB and those mouthing in FB. What's wrong with u Chonch??? JUST WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU!!! I was about to post on FB saying where's Chonch I miss him. Then just so coincidently someone prompt me to read in TA. I'm shocked seeing Chonch posting. From missing someone to angry someone really drive me mad.

I totally disagree with what Chonch said. It's all nonsense. I expect an apology from Chonch.

My posts weren't in response to anything that's happened recently but that I see the rhetoric building up to the point it was during that tournament weekend when everyone had a freakout and then scrambled to take the moral high ground. A lot of that was exacerbated by Willie choosing an unfortunate way to introduce himself and the player named "BUMCRACK" being offended by Zack's posts. My annoyance then was related to people saying something to another player or squad but then when they would retort with a similar comment the user would feel as if a line had been crossed. It was like Kingpin punched Zack in the face and then when Zack punched him back he decided to call the police.

Right now there seems to be a trend where SAW is responding to MOB criticism by challenging them to h2h matches and most are met with a response like, "No, because you're a bad sport. Also, SAW sucks!"

I was in a room with [SC]Barceló a few weeks back and I was in a Z3 and he was in a Mustang and everyone else left the room except for a few P40's so I focused on Barceló in consecutive h2h's. After winning 5 or 6 straight I left the room because he kept letting out "Argh's" and I felt bad for having a plane advantage. I entered a TP room a few minutes later and realized I didn't have sound but stuck it out thinking it might come back after I respawn but it never did. I got lit up by DJ ChiTown three times in a row without hearing the rockets hit and Barceló was on his team and would shoot me after I bailed out. It was 2 vs. 1 as the other member of my team was a P40 going in circles. After three or four straight deaths I was able to get Barceló to bail out but when he did he pressed pause and went black so I couldn't find him on my radar so I got frustrated and left.

Later that day I posted a photo on FB with a screenshot from the earlier game that showed the app was displaying messages and scoring medals (Excellent's and Godlike's) in two different languages, English and French. The pic also showed my double kill which included killing Barceló and he must have taken it personally and asked if I always leave the room when I'm losing. I decided to refrain from mentioning his cheating during his bail out and just said that I had lost my audio and left. He wouldn't let it die and basically called me a coward. So I told him what time I'd be playing the next day, my timezone and my callsign and he said he'd be there but knew I'd avoid it. Anyway, the next day I played for the whole two hour block, made a room with his name in it and surprise surprise, he never showed. I decided to not post pointing out his absence and just let it be and he didn't mention anything either. I do notice that he never seems to play during the times I told him I play and I've never seen him in a game since.

I know this was a long story but it's stuff like this that makes me not like this game. Players you've never heard of calling you out and then never backing it up. And you being left to look like you ran away only because you decide not to bring it up on FB. I guess I get annoyed again when I see SAW and MOB guys doing the same thing because I know that at the end of the day, win or lose, it takes the real fun out of the game. In Barceló's other posts he seems like a nice guy and a good sport so I still can't tell if he was joking or not and that's another aspect of the banter that can get annoying. When it's done by new players you haven't gotten to know yet and you don't know their writing style. Comments can easily be taken the wrong way if they're made by people you don't really know on FB. Waldo was ripping into Sheriff pretty good only a day or two after the guy had been on FB and it was hard to tell if it was making him uncomfortable or not.

Wow, this has to be the longest post ever. Sorry for that and thanks for reading if you made it this far.

Like I said, I don't really mind the banter. I said before that sometimes it can even make me chuckle. But I see similar clouds forming in the sky and I've just decided to go inside rather than get caught in some trivial storm.

I never said you personally posted inappropriate pictures on FB. Those pics were posted by other users and I also said I didn't personally find them inappropriate. I realize though that there is a generally understood community standard and I was surprised that it was broken the other day.

My posts regarding you personally merely mentioned that I feel you seem to be a major catalyst in flaming the squad wars and that the nature of the overall posts change the more you're involved with the page. I think a lot of your posts are funny but you do seem to throw all your energy into everything being SAW vs. MOB and I don't think I'm alone in this. Others have mentioned this before on FB when you were ranking your members and claiming that certain players were unbeatable when they had been beaten before. That's all I said. I was about to post that you actually seem to be somewhat more restrained this time around perhaps now that your brother is involved with the community but I still stand by what I said earlier about how the rhetoric seems to escalate when you play and post versus the time periods when you're doing other things.

I'm not mad at you and you've always been one of my favorite players since I started playing. But I think your increasing boredom with the game and your impatience regarding updates sometimes makes you and a lot of others (myself included) a little punchy with our posts.

LOL!!! I go away a few days, come back and read this long thoughtful discussion, and then come to the end and see this comment from you Shern, true to form. I had to laugh, you're awesome just the way you are; don't ever change!

Yeah, the ongoings over at the fb page are pretty horrible. I find that the more closely I follow them, the less I enjoy playing the game. The number one rule with Internet trollz is you don't feed them, and that's all that seems to go on.

Agreed, it does seem as though most of the activity at the FB page is composed of trolling.

EDIT: I truly miss the old days of SoG, we're everyone had class and respected one another. All in all, a much more sophisticated community.

FYI, I'm currently working on helping to make FB a better place for everyone before I know of this discussion in here. I've sent PM to key persons from SAW and MOB on making FB a good place for everyone. Believe me, SAW has ceased all bad mouthings and bad pics from this moment onwards. And this is due to members of SAW are also sensing things are not right.

One thing left is Soprano posting of pics of him killing others. And he make a clear stand he'll keep doing it. I hope he stop. There are people who can take those things and those that can't. And revenge begets more revenge and this will bring in negative things into FB again.

@Chonch, I probably have misinterpreted your long message (as usual). Sorry. At least now I know why u've disappeared from FB.

    To all:
FB is good now. Please feel free to post there and enjoy the community there.

I apologize for my part in the recent events on FB. Both teams MOB/SAW are hypocrites when judging members in each others squads. Both teams ( MOB/SAW ) have a couple of mouth pieces that post inappropriate pics/comments on the main SOG page and I will do my part to tone that down on SAW's side.

Whoa?!? Is this true? Has anyone tested this? For the last couple of weeks, I've lost a ton of kills bcz as soon as my target goes bailout, he disappears. I figured it was the game server being hinky.
I usually end furballs in target view, so literally my view will switch to another player entirely and I won't be able to switch back to the guy in bailout. If this gets common, there won't be much point to me playing.

I'm 98% positive it's from hitting "pause" after you bail out. It only happens to players on bailout and it seems to be done consistently by some players. It could be an accident if it only happens once in awhile.

When I play sitting up on an airplane my thumbs can bump the pause button when I shake my iPod to bail out. When I play normally I play leaning on one arm and the weight of my device is on my fingers and my thumbs are far away from the screen when I shake to bail out. So I don't call out known players when it happens most of time because it could have been an accident or they only go blank for an instant. However, Barceló's move seemed intentional because of the circumstances and that he remained invisible until he respawned.

Hey Spartacus! I seem to find you in every room I've entered the past few days. I've been flying as either [SAB]Squishy or [SAB]Chesticles. You've attained "Ace" status in my book. I remember the days when you were in a P-38 throwing rockets.

I've been meaning to post about all the good games we've been having on FB but have been avoiding the page recently. You're always one of the guys I'd like to hear more from.
