Heh, what was missing was the sound of my plane blowing up! Thanks, Thomas, it was a great game. I felt good about hanging with y'all while it lasted. And thanks for reminding me about Slm! I've been flying with so many different names lately I plum forgot about ole Slm-PKNS. I'll have to reintroduce him to the SoG later.

    Later.

GG! That was a lot of fun. I probably spend as much time in rocket rooms, especially my "rocket school" room or rocket city, as I do anything else. The frantic pace of a tough FFA wears on my eyes and thumbs - I like the slow jockeying for position with the rockets. You and Foo have gotten really good with them. I also enjoy the low flying antics thru the town. It helps keep things fresh.

My next rocket goal is to find Keebler in a room, lob a rocket at him across the room, and then say "Gotcha!". He will then give me a richly deserved beat down, but I'll be laughing too hard to notice.

    GG Orion!

Orion, fun game just now teaming up against the two SAW players. Yesterday I was on fire, but I'm afraid tonight you caught me at the bottom of my performance wave, but great fun even as your weak wingman. We will have to try that again!

lol. you are very brave.. :D you could always lead him away from your spawn point. you'll probably get kill once, but you'll be able to lob more rocket across the room after you re-spawn. :) Deep down, I do think Keebler would love to shoot rockets, 1 shot 1 kill like in his FB picture. I am sure he kill that deer with 1 single shot. :D For me, I still need to master shooting the target at a 90 degrees angle whenever I had the opportunity.
    :)

Welcome to the SoG thread of TA! Yep, this is the best game for the the iTouch/phone. I would recommend spending a buck or two and getting one of the other planes as the P-40 will get cut to ribbons very quickly. Also, SoG has Face Book page where most of us meet, drop on by.

Speaking of teaming up, I always thought of myself as a free flying sort of player but I found during my brief stint as a SAWZ fighter I enjoyed having some company in a room. I realize you're mostly all signed up with one group or another (or three) but if you find yourself in a room with me and wanting to team up just give me a holler. Is there a standard "team up" message? Or do I just wait to see if you don't kill me more than twice? :D

There are a couple ways to do this

1.) give an "ouch" x 3 and if you get a response of "nice" x 3 then you can considered teamed up.

2.) fly passed them without firing a couple times and make it obvious you are not firing on them...If they return the favor you can consider yourself teamed

    Hi Smokin'Joe,
Glad to know u're having a good time here. Clinton Foster met a Hak[SAW] in the sky and this reminds me of you. You're always free to tag with SAW. Just to give you a heads up on what's going on in SAW. We are going to start a ranking system. From 2nd Lt to 1st Lt to Captain to Major and so on and so forth until Ace and then to Meister which is the highest rank. To attain a promotion, a SAW member must win a number of private FFA by being the first to reach 20 kills. The FB group page has the officer list which we can type in the rank to facilitate this ranking.

The founders of SAW which is 3 persons will start with Captain, the next 4th to 12th will start as 1st Lt and the 13th to 20th member will be 2nd Lt. Subsequent new members will start as no rank. This is to recognize the early members of SAW. Currently we have 22 members. Need a total of 15 wining matches to achieve the highest rank. The rank is nothing more than to recognize players with good skills.

If you're coming back, u'll be starting as 1st Lt and not as new comer. There's no time commitment required in FB and SAW. And the rank is of course not important but something for fun and have a goal for everyone.

Shern, I like that system alot. I think its a cool way to try and rank your own members while keeping your older members sharp as they would not want to have some noobie out rank them! It is a cool idea.

Banchee just become the 1st SAW members to be promoted from 1st Lt to Captain!

Here's the detail of SAW ranking system:

The SAW FB group page can allow us to have ranks. We will organize many private FFA matches in SoG with rules on when can start shooting and limit at 20 kills. This FFA match will include all FB players. It's hard to have frequent FFA match with just SAW players.
If a SAW member win the private FFA by being the first to reach 20 kills and has screen shot to prove, he get a promotion and this will be reflected in the SAW FB group page. Other public FFA matches are not counted because only the private FFA has everyone start the game together and always comprise of top tough players.
Here's the ranking order and the number of winning match required to move up the rank:
    - No rank
    - 2nd Lieutenant (win 1 private match): 1 match total
    - 1st Lieutenant (win 1 private match): 2 match total
    - Captain (win 1 private match): 3
    - Major (win 2 private match): 5
    - Lieutenant Colonel (win 2 private match): 7
    - Colonel (win 2 private match): 9
    - Ace (win 3 private match): 12
    - Meister (win 3 private match): 15

So need to win total 15 matches to achieve the highest rank.

The 3 founders of SAW will start as Captain. The 4th player to 12th player will start as 1st Lt and the 13th player to 20th player will start as 2nd Lt. This is to recognize the early members. 21st to subsequent players will start as no rank.

    Current SAW Officers list:
    Desmond Saw 2nd Lieutenant
    Ace Rimmer Saw Captain
    Zack Westfall 1st Lieutenant
    Tomas Byers 1st Lieutenant
    Jason Watson 1st Lieutenant
    SawBeast Burns 1st Lieutenant
    Aaron Josiah Sanchez 1st Lieutenant
    Spartacus Saw 1st Lieutenant
    Banchee Red Captain
    Shern Sawblade Captain
    Richard Stevens 1st Lieutenant
    Waldo Saw Pepper Captain
    Ian Fidel 1st Lieutenant

I like that system, Shern! And your kind offer of reinstatement. I have to admit it's a little lonely in the SoG now.:( Also, the FB time commitment thing was huge, as we discussed. If you're cool with an absentee member, count me back in. Plus I'm digging the cool new SAW emblem! Do we get T-shirts?:)

I'm so happy to hear that. Weeping with tears of joy now at my desk.
In terms of everyone's life priorities, SoG FB and SAW rank last. Always. Absentees are acceptable, even for long terms!

    So I'll re-instate u as 1st Lt Smokin'Joe! Still use the HAK[SAW] callsign?

What's your FB name? I couldn't find you. Can you send a friend request to Saw Squadronx?

Great! Yeah, HAK[SAW] works. By the way, I can still check the SoG Wall at FB. Just so you know I'm not completely out of touch with current events.;)

You need the FB account in order to join the SAW FB group so that your name can appear in the officer list.
