Ok. Im gonna be an outcast and put a bullseye on my back. I will be sticking with my Z3 and will adopt the Z3R tag. who wants to put up a list of Z3R and XZ3 players?

    Manueverability test !!

This is just to check the pitch rate for each plane by timing the time taken the plane take to complete 5 vertical loops. Maybe Rudel can do a better job in providing a more statistically and scientifically results.

Sorted by best timing to worst. I don't have the Hien-II in my hangar to do the test. numbers in bracket are the handling spec shown in market.

    1) Zero-III (5.0) 17.5sec
    2) Mustang-II (4.5) 19.8sec
    3) BF109-II (4.0) 19.9sec } surprise here
    4) Yak-3-I (4.5) 20.0sec
    5) Corsair-II (4.5) & FW-II (4.5) 21.0sec
    6) Mosquito-II (2.5) 22.2sec
    7) P38-L-I (4.0) 22.3sec
    8) Spitfire-II (4.0) 22.4sec

#2 to #5 are very close to each other and resemble 4.5 rating standard. So BF109-II should be 4.5 stars in handling. #6 to #8 are also very close together and resemble 4 stars rating in handling. So Mosquito-II should be 4.0 star.

    In short, manueverability best is Z3 > (P51 = BF109 = Yak3) > (Corsair = FW190) > (Mossie = P38 = Spitfire)

This is what I do when I'm really bored. I played a little over the weekend and this morning for the first time in about a week.

Bukki had just entered that game as I was leaving so that's why he doesn't have any kills yet.

@Techna: Good guess, buddy! You did run into me, I just wasn't in a Zero. :D

EDIT: "Sally" is Thomas, not me.

    Quite the pilot!

I'm sticking with the z3 for the fun of it. I will fly the Stang occasionally

I was flying with the SAB tag, probably with the BF and was chasing a Z3.

(With the BF it's hard to get a good one... the Z3 can chonch you out anytime, has a better firepower and armour and that's the worst: I can hit him as often as he hits me, but when my health is down on 20% he still is maybe on 50% or 60%.)

ok... I was chasing this Zero3, gave everything to get him down and: I got shot in the back.. and who was it? A I-don't-remember (xZ3) pilot. I hope he did get the zero3 instead of me.

If you really want to get them down: don't shoot your helpers in the back ;)

Next time: wait with killing me after the Zero3 is killed.:)

as long as you and I have the SAB tag on, nothing will happen ;)

not until now... he can be a pain in the a$$.. reallly.. :D
    [IMG]

he knows me or SAB, that is sure. So he will read this forum, I think... If I enter a room, he is attacking until I leave... and he is really good.:eek::eek:

EDIT: I probably said NICE!, because I knew it will be a nice pic ;)

  14. What is rear gunner???

And do you note that the rooms aré high??? The limit is 10, not 8 than before.

A man with a gun, sitting behind you, watching in the direction you came from. THe Bombers in the missions do have them, so they can shoot you when you are flying behind them.

A back rocket would do it too, or a big rope to throw out of the window, hoping you get his propeller.

Yes, they try it with 10 player rooms again. Last time they failed. :D

I tried to enter a room with 8 players in it. I got " failed to join room"
I never was in a room with more than 8 players.

Mosquito-II also flies faster than P38, it doesn't deserve the 2 stars shown in the plane stats.

Does anyone notices the loop rate feels slower when you have more planes in the room? Don't know if it's just me or everyone feels the same. perhaps iPad and iPhone4 player have slight advantage with faster CPU.

Oh! iPhone 4 spec for operating temperature is 32° to 95° F/0° to 35° C, can't use it in hot summer days?

  19. aha...... and do you want take a water glass? hahahhaahhaha!

LOL! I try it and make a looping. But tomorrow, now I´m charging the iphone.

looping.... inverted (the plane of course...).... I´ll call some Zeros to make more enjoy the "video".....

I would be happy to. But for any statistical test, I need access to the raw data, to have a look at the distributions.

What would be interesting is to do these tests with several dimensions (top speed, acceleration, pitch rate, yaw rate, etc.), then do that with other dimensions too (firepower, armor, etc.), then represent each plane as a vector in a highdimensional space.

I think that would show two things:
    A) The current planes are definitely not balanced.
    B) where the holes in the highly dimensional space are (so that sgn can balance it with new planes).

I would be happy to help.

As I've been saying for a while: Z3 is so ridiculously overpowered that you ought to be ashamed to fly one. Look what chonch can achieve in a P40...

For historical reasons, I'm flying the FW, but would like to have a Stuka.
