Could that be USAEdaWg? It's definitely a patriotic name. Now, for you guys that have updated to OS4, is it something I should avoid doing now or are the benefits worth it? I don't play SoG much anymore and the possibility of multitasking is almost too tempting. I can't tell you how many times I've needed to use the calculator or checked a text message but avoided it so I didn't have to close another app.
I'm in the same boat as you except that I'm currently on T-Mobile and do have the option to jailbreak one if I wanted to. I just feel that jailbreaking a new AT&T iPhone that I didn't buy at an unlocked price would be stealing since AT&T heavily subsidizes the phones at over 50% of the actual cost. If you already honored a 2-year contract and then choose to jailbreak then that seems fine but I don't think I'd go to the effort to do that for a 3Gs when the iPhone4 is in existence. I've survived this long without one and I'm actually not a phone status person at all. My old motorola died a few months ago and instead of extending my contract to get a free replacement I chose to go to Best Buy and purchase a cheapo prepaid phone for $15 and slide my sim card in it. I've got about 6 weeks to go before my current contract is up. The new data plan restrictions are a little worrisome but aside from SoG I really don't use that much if you were to count texting apps and email/internet use. I could almost survive on the 2G a month plan. So many places have wifi that 3G usage should drop. Wifi at home, wifi at work, wifi at so-and-so's house. How much data usage will there be in the car, at the park, beach, airport? If I can be sure that Verizon or another carrier won't get the iPhone within a year I'll be taking the plunge in August.
put it this way. Had i known it would mess up SoG, i would not have installed it. I got a 8GB phone with over 6GB spare. But then maybe it's a good thing that i don't play it so much now. I'm never gonna reach Top10, but happy to get into the top 100. I'm suffering the same iOS4 problems as Orion. My iphone is just a glorified games console with email, video and music production apps. Calculator i rarely use, forget i got one and still use pen & paper. Multitasking is a word i picked up from you yanks about 3 years ago. I now say the drummer from 'Snuff' is multitasking cos he's lead singer and drummer. Unless you want SoG jerky and you may appear warpy to others and i've seen other players disappear only to reappear behind me cos maybe they are 3G users to who have upgraded. Think wisely and will a SoG update appear soon cos it's taken a lot of the enjoyment i had from it and reduced me to take it or leave it. Even Call of Duty:ZombiesII doesn't load anymore. Oh and what Thomas said earlier i totally agree. We're all here cos of THE GAME but we have a laugh and some friendly banter. We're all grown up and can take it on the chin. I say i hate the English, but i don't really. I just like winding them up. I wouldn't let something stupid like football ruin things. Even the xenophobes at work i don't hate. I just laugh at them and wind them up more. I'm not the slightest bit patriotic to my country or my government. I couldn't care less if the queen suddenly died. A burning flag wouldn't bother me (hell i even threw a friends Welsh one on a fire at Glastonbury once and told him it must have been some South Africans as a Rugby match was looming). But i don't frown or criticize anybody whose thinks otherwise (unless you got a swaztica on you're forehead, are a bully, beat women or murder innocents). I got friends from all walks of life. My Bro-in-law is in the RAF. Totally f**king racist as is my sister unless you play football for England. Tho i once had her chatting to the trombonist from the Mighty Mighty Bosstones as she plays cornet. So i kinda mellowed her out there. I don't hate them. Pity them, yes. I got friends who are racist, muslim, locked up in prison for life, hippies (although i frown on hippies), christians, hardcore christians fire & brimstone from Africa who frown on me. You name a minority, an ethnical group, religious, atheist, policemen, armed forces, shoplifters, squatters, anarchists i know loads (including Michael Gondry's brother who i stay with in Paris lol) Don't always agree with each other but are all still mates. I might not be patriotic but i would fight for those i love and care about. But yeah, we all get along regardless of whom we are or believe. THE GAME brings us together and THE GAME will conquer all as differences are pushed aside and we share our passion of THE GAME and get to know each other and understand others way of lifes. Hi all, glad to be here. WOW.. so many posts 40+ since I've posted my first message yesterday. I suppose this is the place aces like you come to unwind after the battle. GGs to many of you. I've bumpped into Lamariont, TnA SkyNinJa, Mosquito (Lt. Tanaka?), and Sola in the past week or so, but I haven't seen Chonch, Origami, and Bumcrack for a while. Seems like w00per is attacting people hungry to eat me alive. There was a TP game where the other team has 4 players in yak, p40, z3 and Fokker. my team is only me z3 and anothe in p40. The 3 players in high performance planes focus their firepower on me and not the one in p40. I had to leave in a hurry since I am back to the spawn point, so I didn't have time to note down the names. The call sign I've played today seems to be harmless. Nobody take me seriously. Mustang-II vs Yak-3-I I just has quite extensive flight alternating between P51 and Yak3. I am pretty sure the Mustang-II is a tad better in manuerabiltiy than Yak3. The P51 moves smoothly almost like Z3. The Yak3 felt a bit sluggish in turning. I actually perform better in P51 than in Yak3 as I can correct my aims quicker and smoother. All is needed is to avoid h2h with veterans and P51 is almost a perfect plane for me. Speed: Yak3 is slighly faster than P51 Armor: Yak3 is slightly harder than P51 Firepower damage: Yak3 is slightly higher than P51 Firepower range: Both seems to do well in long range firing. Handling: P51 is slightly better. Looks: P51 is much better looking than Yak3. Edit: In terms of how fast I can rack up kills in FFA room filled with noobs, here is my ranking of the planes which do best for me: Z3 > P51 > Yak3 > P38 > Mosquito > BF > Corsair > Spitfire
