I'm now at 49th ranking! I'm now highly motivated to move up in ranking aggressively, to move from 40 smtg to 30 smtg to 20 smtg and then to top10 and I can finally be with VNSA in top10, and it will be happily ever after!

    Gg Swiss!

Quick question for you - was I warping at all?

I blew up my other router and borrowed a friends older one and the 3 games I was in, more than 1 plane was warping which makes me think the old router isn't performing as well :(

I've noticed some warping/lagging in the games I've been in (not with you) and my new connection is almost three times faster than my old one so maybe it's a server issue or something. If you need a new router I just got the new Valet M10 from Cisco for about $90 and it's pretty amazing.

Chonch, do you like the Valet? I was actually just looking at them. With summer upon us here my kids want to be able to use thier laptops outside on the deck about 50ft from our current router and it struggles to get the signal out there. Any thoughts woud be great! Thanks.
By the way, I hope your move went well!

I've only had it for 48 hours but I just checked the range using my iPod Touch and I can walk about 70 ft. away (out my door and 50 ft. down the hallway) and my iPod is still reading 2 bars and Safari works just as fast as when I'm in the same room. Depending on the hardware you and your family are using you might have different results. I'm using an old Macbook Pro from 2006 and my girlfriend is using a new Macbook and she can pick up about 20% more networks in our building on her airport than I can on mine when we're right next to each other. So if your kids might be using older, hand-me-down laptops maybe the router isn't the issue and the money would be better spent on upgrading wireless cards or other hardware.

Unlike the Linksys models from Cisco the Valet and Valet Plus (M10 and M20, respectively) come with Connection Setup Keys that are USB flash drives instead of the CD-ROMs that didn't work for Macs. The setup is supposed to be flawless and you should be able to just plug the ethernet cable from your modem into the router and insert the USB setup key into your computer and the router literally does all the work. However, this did not happen for me.

After watching the connection wizard go through the basic setup stages it suddenly stopped and told us that the router could not complete the setup and to call this phone number and Cisco will finish everything up for us. My girlfriend called and they first said that maybe we could just try a different computer because my Macbook Pro isn't the most up-to-date but it was our only option because my girlfriend's newer Macbook had just started going through a kernel panic on every startup so that wouldn't work as a backup. So using my laptop the tech person actually took over control of my desktop using a shared network and changed the necessary info to make the router work. It might sound like a nightmare but the whole process took about 20 minutes and is apparently very rare. We were never put on hold at any point and the tech support person was incredibly knowledgeable so it worked out fine.

I think the Valets come with a bunch of additional features like parental controls and separate network keys for your family and then for guests, or for your kids if you set up the parental controls. Since I didn't use the normal connection setup I don't really have a ton of info or experience using any of these features. They obviously have all the basic features you would expect from a modern router like easy printing and shared folders, stuff like that. My only concern is that since I don't really need all those features I probably bought something more advanced than I really needed but I'm just in full frugal-mode while setting up my new place, buying furniture, etc. In your case spending $90-130 shouldn't be an issue if it keeps the kids quiet :). I would definitely recommend it. It's powerful, not too expensive and, while least important, I think it looks really pretty if it has to be visible in your entertainment system or on a small table or whatever. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions just ask :).

GN! What an EPIC battle my friend! Here i was all sad because I'm been re-doing my office so yesterday left little time to play SOG. Then I see and realize that Vanessa will soon pass me when I was trying hard to catch Hazard and NeLge (who stopped playing :(

BUT then, you and I meet and go h2h. That was so much fun! I will NOT forget that game anytime soon. Thanks for sticking around! My battery was just about dead so the timing was perfect. That game made me realize why I enjoy SOG so much!!!!

quick question for you: do you use more cannons than machine guns? there were a few times you hit me and my health went down so fast I was shocked because I didn't expect it.

    Awesome game!!!!!

This was a pretty good game. The only drawback was that it needed one more veteran to become truly memorable as it's always eye for an eye when a free-for-all becomes a three-for-all. I got the "20% Battery Life" notification about 2 minutes in which added another element of excitement but it lasted. Vanessa left soon after the first screenshot was taken and then Sola and I went at it a little longer then I left before my battery died. GG!

    Intense h2h battle.
My KDR was 1:1 or the under.
However, it was very fun time. :):)

I use cannons and machine guns and only the same is used roughly. :)

Ah sweet childhood memories:) Thanks to you one thing lead to another and I ended up spending half an hour watching Leo Wanker sketches when I could have spent my time more productively playing SoG:D.........there are just so many hours in a day:(

Chonch, thanks for the rundown. It does help. Especially since we have two Mac's here and 5 pc's. One of my daughters is heading to VCU in Virginia for graphic arts and that is the only computer they want them to have. I really do appreciate it!
