lol sorry about that - I was honestly gunning towards iavre. I had to target you a few times b/c you were right in front of me, but I was actively after iavre and then the rocketers. my sensitivity is probably about 80%. I set it fairly high. wanted to make it challenging to fly around and at the same time, make it challenging to be more precise controlling the iphone. My view is nothing - I can't stand the others. I tried the 'tracking' one, but that is just crazy. I just want to fly and shoot. I find my greatest asset lately is watching the radar to see the direction of the planes. I find i'm locating planes attacking me or at least turning towards me alot sooner and hence not getting ambushed alot. I think that's the greatest thing I've got going for me lately. I'm doing more of the attacking, rather than the defensive attacking. I'm not too worried about kill rate. It's not really a tracked stat is it meaning it's up to us to figure it out? I looked at my kills vs deaths and yours, to give me an idea of how i'm progressing and i'm at 21% and you're at 26% if I calculated that right (in terms of kills to deaths). I'm having fun. I'm finding that with the Corsair, it's almost fatal to slow down during a turn b/c it's slower to get revved up again. until our wings cross paths again
U mean u earn big money by beta testing? Wow! The color is fixed. Different color on same plane means they are different in performance. Eg, green spitfire vs red spitfire. If u've not bought the mission pack which comes with the green spitfire, the green spitfire is about same spec as the P40, lousy plane. The developer said there will be grey mustang which I presume should be better than the white one. And the pink spitfire will have the firepower and armour at 5 stars each while the speed and handling remain the same. The black zero will have 5 stars for all the 4 specs. Ok. I'm just joking about the pink spitfire and black zero. But the grey mustang is true. But who knows, maybe there will these planes. In the early days of FAST, we are critizing on why there's B2. And someone joked about why not include the A10 and B52. And turns out SGN really include these planes in the latest version.
Not BIG money, but enough to buy all the apps I need/want outside of my review writing. Cool. I'll buy the Mission Pack 1, Dogfights, Corsair. Does the "Multiplayer Bundle" do anything? It seems like it only gives me bluetooth and local multiplayer...
U can skip the multiplayer bundle. U've already got the online play through wifi or 3G. Acutally I find the game is more interesting when u buy these 5 planes and experiment yourself to find the strength and weakness of them and see which suit u best: Zero, Corsair, Spitire red, BF109 and Temptest.
Cool of u to share your secrets of winning! My setting is at 50% and I just switched from the default view to nose view yesterday and find my kill rate improved. Kill rate is just my term to describe if others is racking up kill numbers faster or slower than me in the game, judging by the kill numbers in the list. We normally calculate the kill death ratio in number of kills per death. We called kdr in short. Eg my kdr should be like 4.8:1. The best kdr is Frumius at > 8:1. so how is your kdr like? I don't really bother much about kdr since players are getting better nowadays and more players love to kill me because it makes them feel good. So my kdr has dropped from my highest at 5.8:1 to current at 4.8:1. My top concern is killing rate because I want to generate more kills within the limited time I can have each day.
It's still free until now. I'm not sure when this will become chargeable. I also received that message each time I play online.
i'm close to a 4:1 kdr then. maybe just over that. the first few games were brutal until i started upgrading planes the iphone is charged up while I prep some files to run so i'll have time later
Stay away from the Tempest. It's a total brick. There's no advantage in having 20% more armor if you're getting hit 50% more often. Similarly, packing 20% more firepower is pointless if everyone else is out-turning you. Maybe there will be some ground attack scenario where its characteristics will prove useful. The red Spit is particulary elegant. Aesthetically, SoG offers nothing better than the experience of chasing one down. (I know I'm gonna pay for that comment sooner rather than later).
I think that years ago I had played a desktop game that had a tracking view that was cockpit based. It approximately compensated for the fact that you couldn't turn your head. It was sort of like a hybrid of the "Nothing" view and the tracking view. I'd love to see that in SoG.
btw, i wonder how many other ppl understand your nickname and i like the Tempest - hunting them down that is b/c they are super slow. i won't ever buy one.
Yeah, for just a little bit. I didn't feel like I could get all that into it because, yes I was feeling a bit self conscious. I only played for 5 min. tops. No I don't have 3G as I have an ipod touch. I really want an iphone, but I really, really don't want AT&T.
Keebler, I almost had reached that frag limit! I was only in that game for about 5 minutes, and at the end I only had to get two more kills. I could have done it but someone kept shooting at me! I'm really curious how you keep dominating me with those h2h runs! Once I had full health, I got my shot off way sooner than you, I was in a Spitfire with better armor than you had, and you still got me!!! How do you do that? On top of that I just read that you set your sensitivity to like 80% just to make things more challenging for yourself! I had a load of fun though! I can't think of anybody else with whom I always have such a good time playing the role of cannon fodder for!
teeheehee you still won that match though b/c you had the highest amount of kills - at least that's the way i looked at it. I did target you in hopes of slowing you down, but you were so close I'll admit that I did feel sorry .......for half a second or so lol btw, i checked my sensitivity and it's actually at 100%. I had loads of fun and it's getting fun when I see you folks in a game. I'll pick and choose when I target you folks. I felt bad for destroying Shern in one game, but he slid right in front of me when I was after someone else. I remember him from one game and I must have left a 'good' impression b/c i hopped into a game and he came at 4 or 5 times - he turned everytime my plane came back in. He got me twice, but i got him most of the time. Then he left me alone and I hunted him down just for coming at me. It was weird - I've never had a player come right at me so many times in a row - I know it was deliberate. Would love to know if I irritated him or maybe he's just after the Keebler. ttyl keebler
