Funny. I've ran into "pig dog" a few times. Overall he's pretty green but he's steadily improving and he's a pretty good sport. I hope he hangs onto his call sign. I think it's just an English translation of a German insult: SchweinHund
GG Mash and Chitose! This is really sooooooo much fun than the stupid sniper game. First match after a long break from the game was with noobs and I hit 20 kills and all left. Then the room is filled again. This time all Zero3 and some Yak3! Wow! Is Mash Sola or Origami? I was in the Yak3. I wanted to take a snap shot of me having 20 kills while all Z3 are 0 but that would be deceiving.
Yes, that room was very tough. GG! Those furballs were so tight, I was killing people I wasn't aiming at and getting killed by people whom I didn't even see. I was disappointed in that KNIGHT. Seemed good but crashed everytime he got shot up a little.
Thanks. Wow! A compliment from my most 'feared' player. Think I will not be able to sleep tonight. I was killed by you many many times, as usual.
Yeah, he was definitely a good guy and showed a lot of potential that's only being limited by his plane. That's a good guess regarding his name. I don't know any German other than pleasantries and thought his name was a common term for tough, courageous hunting dogs in the southern US. They use Pit Bulls, American Bulldogs and Dogo Argentinos as "catch dogs" to grip wild boar and hold them in place enabling the hunter to safely run up and make a few select cuts and bleed the hog out. I'm not a hunter and the sport sounds pretty rough (the dogs get killed all the time) but it's infinitely more respectful and sporting than the guys that go on safari and kill elephants with $150,000 Holland & Holland double rifles just for the trophy. This was a long post and not at all relevant but deleting it seems wasteful so I'm posting it anyway.
GG Chonch- I would of liked to stay, but I had to get ready for work. You're definately as good as advertised. I was no match for you in my p-38-II. You took control of the leaderboard from me almost instantly.
Gang Bang just had a very enjoyable sea FFA sesh. Must have gone on at least half hour and filled up constantly when others left. avri1 was there entire duration, (SAB)Swiss piled in, PublicEnemy, Boomer, The Ghost and quite a few more i've forgotten. All up close and chaotic. Kill rate was pretty crazy as was life expectancy. Anyone else i missed out who was in there. Go going. I loved every second. And only 1 rocketeer showed up.
With you being new, anything other than the zero III is a waste of money. It's the best, by a longshot.
Thanks for the plane tips. I think I'll get the zero 3. Any other advice someone Can give me? I' m a little reluctant to play multi-player because I know I'll get clobbered badly for awhile. Thanks everyone for the help.
Keebler, were you using rockets a minute ago? If not then you've got an imposter. He was flying as TNA SkyNinJa so maybe it was just you messing around. It's just that I know how much you hate rocketeers.
It was appreciated nonetheless. I actually looked up the term afterwards, and it's pretty varied. It's used in the sense that you described it, especially in Australia where pig-hunting is pretty popular. It's also the name for a particular stance surfers use, and it's an insult in both German and out-of-date English. I found this pretty funny: You don't frighten us, English pig-dogs! Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person. I blow my nose at you, so-called Arthur-king, you and all your silly English kaniggets. - from Monty Python and The Holy Grail So either we have an avid outback pig hunter, a surfer, or a self-deprecating German w/a translator :-D
Found out today that you just cant "chonch" on Chonch. Man Chonch and m0squito had me so flustered I couldn't get it together. I was playing at lunch with a buddy (AceRimmer) that I am typically pretty evenly matched with, and even he was getting 4 kills to my one. I was almost happy that I had a phone call that bumped me out of the room for good there at the end. Grrrr! I usually do EVERYTHING better under pressure than when just goofing off too! Now THAT was funny!
Yes, some people will clobber you, all right. Pretty much anyone posting here will get you pretty easily at first. "At first" is the key phrase: don't give up just because you get clobbered. Just have fun and learn from it. Some tips, though: As you practice in single player (or online), practice doing wild maneuvers, speed changes, and quickly acquiring a target. I say practice these things because if you fly around leisurely on multiplayer you will be a very easy target. You will want to constantly change direction. Be fast, be quick. When practicing the maneuvers, use the Down button (for down throttle, and it lowers flaps) to turn more sharply. You do slow down doing this, so be aware of that. You don't want to end up flying for too long at really low speeds because you're then an easy target. If you get the Zero III, which is certainly the best dogfighter and the fastest plane (despite in-game star ratings), be aware that people may prioritize shooting you down since you have such a hot plane. You might give the Yak a whirl. Don't use rockets. You need to fly straight to use them most effectively, and then you're that big fat target again. Plus, they recharge slowly. INstead, use both machine guns to downstroy your enemies. The other thing about using rockets is that it makes most of us here on the board want to downstroy you repeatedly. When you are very damaged you will eventually get the "Bail Out" message; shake your phone to bail out and if no one kills you while you hang there for a few seconds, your score won't log a death for you. Remember not to get discouraged. Give yourself time to learn. Say GG! and NICE! a lot and people will think you're nice and fun. You can pick from a number of quick phrases like that by tapping the middle of the screen when you're flying. Come here and ask questions. We're pretty much all good pilots here, and friendly and willing to help. -
