@ chonch... Thank you thank you thank you :'D I can't believe how good the z3 Is omg it's epic I mean scary epic out of the last 5 games iv played I ended up at least in the top of the scores no wonder why so many people like this plane it's amazing ( and I was wrong about the price it was £1.19)
Dunno if it's any help, but when i'm approaching a few locked in close combat. Instead of targeting just one, i tend to try and spray them both or all. That way you weaken more than one for when you get in. Works especially well when the dogfight involves readers from here. ooops.
You need to use to use rudders and change your speed (this works best in a ZIII). One trick is to attack at full speed, then turn hard with rudder in the same direction and reduce speed. This will pull you around on their six no problem if they are a noob or newbie... This will not work on a veteran! With them keep your speed high and do some tight turns, trying to keep them from getting a lock on your six. Never pull-up in a DF and avoid furballs with more than 3 people, you will get shredded by all the loose cannon fire. If you have the skill do a low level DF on the ground especially if your weak and low health. This will stop your opponent getting onto your vulnerable underside. One thing also is the Cannons act like a shotgun when you are close up to someone, only when they are used on their own. If you use Cannons and MG the shotgun effect does not work so well? This has been rummored to be due to lag in the system... Would be interesting to know what happens in a LAN WiFi or with bluetooth?
I've written on this before, so I've just copied and pasted some of that earlier commentary and added some more. * First, learn to use the different views. Each has stronger and weaker points. The Help section in SoG explains those pretty well. I alternate between two. H2H is great but you're giving up as much as you're gaining. Learn how to offset your angle so that while you're aiming directly at them, they're aiming just off to the side. * I noticed a trend that I see with some noobs - and even one or two veterans who are flying aggressively - When they go h2h, they start firing from way too far away. As they approach, you get a pattern: long burst -- pause -- long burst -- pause -- etc. (I assume from them mashing the guns till they overheat). Furthermore, they tend to only re-aim in between bursts. If you time it right, you can actually jump off-center between each tracer burst, avoiding it entirely, and still keep the target directly ahead. When they're close enough, just center up and unload on 'em! This is a nice tactic if you're looking at a whole squadron behind the first guy.*
Newbie kills are harder to get these days and a few good players are around who are not on this forum... I will be flying as: "google toucharcade" for a while and see if we can pull some more people into this forum... I may also fly as: "connect @ facebook" to see if we can make connections through facebook too???
Yes that's good, the angle of attack (AoA) is always important and dislike H2H as you can loose a lot and not get so many 'godlikes' which I think boost your score??? You want to have an AoA which puts you on the overside or underside of the attacking plane... From the side is good also but harder to do and takes practice with rudders. You may want to try experimentation with H2H and DFs flying upsidedown or on your side to give a better AoA... I never let my cannons or mg overheat. I fire each one in short bursts alternatively to avoid overheat and system lag! I also only use Cannon in a close and personal DF.
I think Vanessa!!!! is in looooooooovvvee!!! She really seems to like me as there was a lot more communication on her part. We exchanged GG! after every round and she even let out a couple of WOW!'s. She left that crusty Yak in the hangar and found herself a hero while flying her Zero. She definitely didn't bail and my kills were somewhere in the 25+ range when it was time to bounce (I think she had around 20. We took turns beating up the third guy in the room). Though even after I clearly said Adios! she and the other player in the room didn't see any moral dilemma in chasing me to the edge of the map and putting me in Bail Out mode before I could exit. Not a big deal though. I think she recognized my name from here (I've been posting maybe a little too much) and stuck it out because she likes to read about herself. Just join and start posting Vanessa!!! We know you're reading this.
Trav, That was me (Briareus). I would have liked to name the room "Mosquitoes Rule, Zeroes Drool" but with the limits of room names, I couldn't. I tried to avoid you & go after the Zero, but wasn't doing so great. He was staying low which made it harder than usual. You were doing great, btw! Michael
Hey Chonch...these pics are from the other day. Sorry dude, but I think Vanessa is somewhat of a fluzzy. She hung around for a GG! with ? T-rex and Hazard...not to mention myself. VANESSA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry Briareus, that was me as Puff. When you initially said adios....I did 2 fly -byes and then you got shot down and I soon followed in flames. I think a rocketeer got us both. I noticed you hung around for a while after that and got me I think once or twice. I was trying to go after the rocketeer, but after I saw that you stayed and then engaged me...I started after you again. GG!
Wow, photographic evidence of the two of you enjoying yourselves in a threesome. Pretty harsh way to break the news. And now that Hazard's had a taste she's definitely damaged goods.
Briareus & SUK(Puff) great games guys. I just got my arse kicked by Vanessa in her Z3. I'm trying to ween myself off using rockets. Though my P-38 isn't much of a dog fighter. Once I start getting owned by Z3's I tend to drop back and lob rockets, or to try to get 'em h2h. I will have to purchase a z3 or a yak & get better with guns.
GG!! Bukki, Vanessa, T-rex and Randy. I was Puff in the mozzie. I thought I would park the Z3 and take the bus out and do some furball busting. Y'all smacked me pretty good but it is gratifying coming in from long range and aiming at the center of the chaos. Look for the pics tomorrow...I got some nice ones. Sorry Chonch...Vanessa is now up to four and five ways. Thanks for coming and staying Vanessa. GG!.
