lol thanks. I've been working on that strategy b/c I've figured out that if you can avoid the first one, you can do enough damage then get in close for the kill for which they are screwed b/c they don't have cannons....but you do :)

I was a bit surprised by your rockets and they got me the first few times well b/c I hadn't remembered you using them. I said a very big ah..Sh*t! the first time b/c it really caught me off guard :) I didn't see the rocket until the last second! :)

yes... i like my args as a sign of frustration :)

GG though. now back to work :)

Well I would have felt better if I had gotten that fifth one!:) I mean come on if I had actually managed to have pulled that one off.... that would have been classic don't you think! :) I did notice that you also did that to me a few times as well (or were you really aiming at me and just missed.... nahh, your to good to miss!) I actually did the first couple just to let you know I was in the game and that I could have gotten you but I didn't.... so please don't tear me to shreds today!!!!! The first time you took away a kill from me, I knew you understood and I wasn't going to have to play all uber paranoid the entire game! Thanks I do appreciate it, and that was one of the funnest games I have played to date :) All I can say about your last match is poor, poor DonJulian! :) Some of those frag matches can be really fun, especially when you join in late and then catch up and pass everyone to win the whole thing.... I bet that's irritating to people :D

Let me tell you Shern on at least two occasions, Keebler managed to run off all the other players in the game, leaving just him and I to go mono e mono. I was left thinking to myself "Oh crap!..alright then looks like I'm going to be going down in a blaze of glory a few times here until someone else joins in". So that pretty much left me staring him down nose to nose... so I punched the throttle and went right at him... what else could I do? So here we are both blazing ahead at each other full speed and I knew that which ever one of us had the fastest reflexes and got the shot off first the other was goin down! So I go into my barrel roll (in situations like this when you've got all your chips on the table... barrel rolls are dramatically called for by the way) set all guns ablaze and......"Keebler killed orion7319" shortly followed by "Keebler bailed out". Well I'd say it happened this way about 9 times out of 10. I was joking the other day about judging his reflexes by how many ARGG's he can get out in a single second... well, yeah this proves the guy is fast! He's got me beat on the reaction time I'd say by at least a fraction of a second... and that fraction of a second makes all the difference in the world!

Being the father of two boys I can tell you that each child will go at his own pace. I can't remember how old my stepson was when he stated brushing his teeth, but I remember potty training him took a while (joy oh joy) This is in contrast to my youngest who is just one. He is so independent he feels he has to do everything himself including brushing his teeth. He gets really mad when we try and do it for him. Some kids you just have to reassure and work with more than others, but each child will pick things up when they are good and ready.

When I'm down to 1 MG state, I'll look for planes to do h2h. I prefer planes to do h2h with another and is flying to my direction. I can see his stream of bullets. I will fly into the stream and quickly veered away to absorb some bullets to make me into bailing state. Or if the plane is targeting at me, I will intentionaly absorb some bullets and move away. 50% of the time I managed to bail out without loss.

i'm starting to do the same thing. i also notice that as soon as the bail out comes on, if I point my nose to the ground and bail right away - no one gets the kill most times. i do like hanging in there until the last second though.

i take pride in managing to shoot down anything with just machine guns.

For that match, is Keebler on Spitfire or Corsair? If he's on Spitfire and u're on Corsair, asuming both of u are same skilled, Corsair will lose for certain. Spitfire has the extra armor to absorb more hits and Corsair front diameter is huge.

Is this game better than F.A.S.T.? I like the WWII theme much better, but is the gameplay and quality of this title a step up from F.A.S.T.?

Donner, most of our Sgarrista Air Brigade came over from F.A.S.T. We loved F.A.S.T., had 6 or so of us in the Top Ten consistently (including myself and Shern here in the forum), but I/we feel that it's basically gone pay-per-win with the "Super Missiles" (my term) and such that you have to buy. You can buy packs of "Super Missiles," for $.99 or whatever, but they run out. You buy more so you can whup up on those who can't shell out constantly. Then they run out. You buy more so you can whup up on those who can't shell out constantly. Then they run out. You buy more so you can whup up on those who can't shell out constantly.... ... .. . <---NO!

I don't like that, and I haven't touched F.A.S.T. since that started happening.

In SoG you can purchase various planes that have a variety of strengths. These do give you an advantage over someone who only has the stock (free) P-40, but you don't have to keep purchasing. The P-40 owner can surely pony up $.99 for a Corsair, my favorite plane, and then he's on a level playing field. You don't have to pay-pay-pay-pay-pay endlessly for consumable upgrades in order to make you competitive.

Plus, the SoG gameplay is more fun for me. I love having 7 other players in the sky with me.

    Frumius,

I finally got to play in a game with you! That was the first one I was really an official SAB. I have to say though, it's going to take a little getting used to for me to look before I shoot in those FFA games! I think I dinged you with my cannon once as I saw your plane, took a shot, and then I read your name! Sorry bout that!

I'd be very sad if the next coming update for SoG has something like this:
    Gears:
    - Heat seeking rockets x10 $0.99
    - MG upgrage to increase firepower by 0.5 stars $2.99 (permanent for all your planes)
    - 100 rounds of heavy cannon $1.99 (1 shot 30% damage)
    - Armor upgrade $1.99 (increase armor by 0.5 star for all your planes)

    Hello!
It's a pleasure finally being here among people who despise missles (and those who use them in WWII air-to-air combat) and who want a sliding throttle. I had registered about a week ago & some sort of glitch prevented me from posting.

I did have a couple of questions about damage modelling:
From the standpoint of the attacker: Is there any effect of range on the damage inflicted? Similarly, does it matter where on the target plane you hit? I've tried to go back to the low-level dogfights to see. As far as I can tell, the answer is no, but I'd love to hear the observations of others.

From the standpoint of the attackee: What exactly happens to you when you are hit? When you are just about to buy the farm you loose all armament; just before that you lose your cannons but not your MG. I'v seen references to a loss of speed, but am not so sure, and I have not noted any effect on maneuverability. Again, I'd love to hear the observations of others.

Looking forward to fun frenzied furballs!
