I went to Tulane so I've probably seen too much of it. I'm moving there to be with my college sweetheart and I also have a job lined up at Tulane's Law School that, while not paying much, will allow me to get my MBA for free. I'm getting anxious about it but everything will be fine once I get down there. I'm sure I'll still play but just for the competition. This high score stuff turns play into work.
Sounds like you have a bright future ahead of you in New Orleans Moving is always a PITA, but it's worth it If you can get a free education that's great! I don't even like thinking about all my wifes student loans. You are quite right about the high score stuff beginning to feel like work after a while. I kept staying up untill 2 or 3:00AM to do it as I have a hard time finding playing time before 11:00PM. Being sleep deprived and feeling like a zombe just wasn't worth it to me to keep going higher. I'm quite content to work on improving my skill level so I am at least competive with the best I live for the challenging mono e monos now! If I can get into a handful of those a day, I'm quite happy!

I have the BoB version too but I don't play with that version though because it has never been updated. So it doesn't surpise me that you are getting that bug with it.

BIGBOB's name is BIGBOB[can] or something like that. I think I've seen him with it as [CAN]BIGBOB a little while back too. Was he one of the players you saw? If BIGBOB is in a group then maybe I need to finally put in my request to join SAB. What do you need from me in terms of screenshots or anything else? I'll fax you my birth certificate if you need it. I just hate BIGBOB so much.

Everyone here likes you they just don't know you yet. You've got to understand that some of these guys have been playing this game for over six months. So if a new guy registers for the forum and then says, "Hey, you know that club all of you are in because you're such good pilots and friends online? Well, let me join it too! I'm really good!" they probably aren't going to rush to bring him into the group. One of the reasons I never put in a request to join SAB when I first started playing was that I realized that it was way more than just being able to rack up kills in a room. It's the fact that the members really know one another. I always felt like I was too new, that I hadn't played enough, that just because I think I'm pretty good doesn't mean that I'm as good as the other guys in the group. There's no one who currently posts on this forum that isn't liked by everyone else on it. There have been players that have been universally hated and collectively pushed away. Read through the first 100 pages of this thread and look for the posts of a guy named D8WithDeath. EVERYONE hated that guy. You're doing really well and you've improved a lot with your participation level and your knowledge of the community standards. Your posts have become a lot more relevant and you've learned how to use the different features to aide your posts like quoting and editing. Now you just have to keep it up and be patient I guess.
