Average: 111.5 kbps out of 7 measurements (windows7 which has the connection)
Average: 70 kbps out of 7 measurements (directly with my ipod)

I can play every multiplayer games i have, i also read rankings on SoG, but when i join internet games it hangs for a pair minutes and it says "failed to connect."
Im using "connectify" on my PC with windows7 and i never had a problem on multiplayer or browsing internet on my ipod touch

like I said the hack doesn't fail unless ur practically facing the other way round. and the numbers would be impossible to get even if he hacks as the stats are server sided. that's y they remain there even if u did reset ur own. and it's impossible he died five times more than he killed seeing as he often tops the charts in most games. that's my piece and so it's up to u guys to figure it out.

Thats another thing i remember. I've noticed once or twice. It reads 'Rocket Sniper has left' only to see him still in there. Kinda threw me that. Happened today.

hmmm can it b possible that his net is intermittent and that's what caused the score not to sync properly?

    Rocket sniper is a hacker

...or SGN is fixing the game. Either way.

I'm going to be gone about a week, so I apologize for dropping this news and not staying around to discuss it. I'll try to drop in now and then, but I can't promise anything.

After reading a few of these postings, I ran into Rocket Sniper (RS) tonight. Same story: plane after plane being brought down by his missiles. At first, I thought he must just be an incredible marksman, so I avoided his line of sight, and attacked him from the saddle, but he bugged out of the game pretty quickly afterwards.

On his last kill though, I watched and thought "That's weird, I don't think I even saw a missile, just BOOM!!"

So I started to investigate. I switched my view to "target view" and started going through the rooms, looking for Mr. RS, but also just watching other rocketeers. There's some good ones out there who do line up there shots and hit there marks, but each time you see that little string of white fly across the screen until it hits its target or misses.

I then changed my secondary to missiles and went into a room and tried them out. Nothing different, unwieldy as all hell, couldn't hit the ocean if I tried.

Finally - and I write this a few minutes after leaving the room - I run into RS again. I entered a room, quickly avoided his line of sight a few times, and just spent the rest of the time watching him as he killed 7 pilots in a matter of seconds. And sure enough, as I watch in "target view" I'm never saw any missiles. Even when I got closer, the most I could see was what resembled a short burst of fire. They were definitely missiles though.

So my conclusion is that he is indeed a hacker. Why SGN has allowed him to stay at his current position is unclear to me. His "hack" just might be that significant. But whatever you do, don't go h2h. If he enters a room, either leave the room, or kill him till he leaves. If he continues playing and SGN fails to do anything about him, that would leave me to believe they just aren't serious about their product.

nice find there mayhem. so does he hit with the missiles, do the missiles fire, or what. it can help to decipher whether it is truly a hack or just extreme lag on his part.

but now that i look at it, i find it more and more weird. u guys seem to give me the idea that all his kills come from rockets, which isnt rly the case. just now, i just saw him shoot using his mg at a target. he gets kills by getting in front of 2 planes chasing each other in a row, giving a quick burst from his mg, and killing 2, or 3 planes just like that. and mayhem, can u please clarify about what the burst of fire is? how does it look like? my conclusion is that his buggy net causes his rockets not to sync properly, but unless u can give greater details on how the burst of fire looks like, i cant rly make any comment.

soz for TRIPLE POSTING but i do recall something. quite a while back i noticed particular [sab] poser as u guys do recall, he had about 2674 kills on the list if i rmbed correctly, as he was somewhere near me. a while later he went off the list completely, and then reappeared right at the top of the list bout 1 wk later, under the name noob, which he soon changed to [sab] imposter. all of which were said to be ridiculously pro at rockets. if i am right, this [sab] poser is the same person as rocket sniper. whatever happened to his stats, i have no idea. and my other point is that bumcrack stated immediately that this guy as poser was ridiculously good at rockets just a while ago, but this guy was definitely on for more than 1 wk to rack up 2k+ kills, judging by his buggy internet and frequent disconnects as u guys are already familiar with. and the fact is, no one noticed. my point being it just doesnt make sense that he "started hacking", disappeared from the list after a few days and suddenly became a high profile person because he was #1. comments, anyone?

Good observation. I seriously wouldn't be suprised if Poser is actually Rocket Sniper. From what you guys are saying, it seriously sounds like a hack more than just a glitch. He still has a terrible KDR. :D:D

after close inspection, i cannot deny he is a ridiculously good marksman with rockets, as unlikely as this may be, without any hint of hacking. if only he posted his secret here. but his rocket trails are NOT SYNCING properly. occasionally i do see a trail here and there. but all i can say is the time between i see the burst u speak off and the time theres an explosion is no faster than a normal rocket. maybe someone else would want to confirm this. the aforementioned hack i discovered is a "zap". the moment u press the button, the guy dies BEFORE the projectile can even travel, and whether it is even aimed at him or not. on a very side note, i would like to point out that some people just have good prediction skills. look at fps games where theres bullet travel time like battlefield. and u can see people sniping out helicopter pilots without hacks even though they may be moving erratically. i rest my case. and am i the only one investigating this issue here? and no, the kdr is not the issue, its how his retardedly bad connection is screwing up his syncing with the server.

As I posted a few days back, the first time this started happening was when he was 'noob' and came in my KillNeLge rooms, and comfortably outscored everyone except me, I couldn't believe a rocket user was capable, even with any of the vets in a room when you have to be aware which one is Sola etc, I had to know where he was, but even from the other side of the map I'd be in a df and get nailed! unbelievable!

Sola great game! I like the new name :) and the 'Kill SoLge' rooms! Sorry I had to leave, BigBob was impressive with his rockets, respect for sticking it out in a KillNeLge room with me and Sola!

it happens though. not sure why, but his *hypothetically* crap net may be a reason. and i noticed how pple die like 1 sec after they get "hit" by his mg rounds. edit-hypothetically is a more appropriate word than supposedly lolz. and until he comes down and CONFIRMS THIS, we can only keep speculating. i also see no reason why a hacker, if he is one in the first place, would constantly go into vet rooms and expose himself. completely does not make sense. even the noobest person knows who are vets and what the rooms are called. clearly this is more complicated than it seems, whatever is happening. evidence seems to point both ways. crap net evidence=disconnects, non syncing rocket trails, laggy bullets, abnormally high score but with really bad kdr. hacker evidence=certain occasions where he snipes pple halfway across the map with an all-too-well-placed rocket and his high score. honestly it would not make sense that a hacker, if possible, would want to place himself in the limelight by somehow forcing the server to register his kills as a few million, propelling him to the top of the list in an instant, and then continue/start hacking or what appears to be hacking.

    Well said m@yh3m!

I emailed SGN about this the other day (heard nothing so far - I don't suppose I'll get a straight answer anyway as SGN seem to deal in cryptic messaging ). Their Facebook page states they are looking into it (thanks to Shern for raising it again there).

It obvious something is not right - the insanely high score, kills and deaths are outrageous. Its just not possible to get those numbers! And bear in mind all this happened overnight Saturday/Sunday ;)

It does appear to be a hack of some sort be that messing with the internal code or something which is credible given his 'easy' rocket kills and from what shadow discovered. The server side 'glitch' theory is compelling too. Either way it needs to be addressed immediately - its gone on way too long already in my opinion. Remove this dude from #1 spot, investigate how it happened after the event, you have his UDID... its pretty simple SGN :D

I busted my proverbial balls to get in the Top 10 as have everyone else and it just makes a mockery of the effort involved. Hence I haven't played since Sunday and probably won't bother anymore. Its just one thing after another: hackers, server downtime, app crashes, jerky map issues, slow or no direct action on behalf of the developers... its all going decidedly downhill :(

Its a shame but this has tainted the game for me and I'm sure for quite a few others. Its still an epic, absolute classic game but theres always one plank (or two if you include zetor) that spoils it for everyone else, then again SGN has done a fair job of doing that themselves since SoG 2.0 came out ;)

listen here guys, i would like u to treat his high score and his rocket kills as two separate events. they may not be connected. short of hacking their database, there is NO WAY he can cause this score. that is undisputably a server glitch. its his rocket kills that is the issue. it has yet to be determined what causes that, whether its a hack or connection issues.

    GG!! And I'm sorry

You left the game before achieving a flag in a 3th game.

I was shot down by a rocket in h2h with you many times by the outfield. I got excited and was not fun.
And I surely think that you were not fun.
I put a game away, and I should have recognized that rocketter(BIGBOB) as grand rocketter.
    I reflect.
Anyway, the game with you is fun!!!!

    And SUK GG!!

wait a sec. did u say sat/sunday? weekends? which also happen to be the BUSIEST and most taxing days of sgn servers? we forgot about that! rmb how the server crashed spectacularly during the competition wkend? maybe it happened on a smaller scale to this guy. ur on to something here MIA! Coupled with a bad net connection, that can potentially screw up what is sent between him and their servers.

Well, I noticed it Sunday am - agreed its a potential line of enquiry.

And although it would seem highly improbable that he could access the SoG database to enhance his score ('enhance' probably not the best choice of word as his KDR sucks big time ;)) we cannot rule out that device level code changes may have had some influence on this (ie corrupted data being transmitted back and forth to server).

Even if he's the greatest rocketeer ever to appear in SoG (which I doubt) the whole saga is still extremely 'fishy' and needs sorting pronto!
