i played Vanessa earlier tonight and she was nasty good. I held my own, but it ended up that we were gunning for each other time after time Fun times, but I had to exit b/c the hockey game was coming back on Hey, I"m CDN so priorities
I do not really hate the Zero, the plane, that much really(she is a damn beautiful bird) what I hate is what it represents in SOG. It is a super plane compare to anything else in the game. You Zero guys love it because it gives you an edge on any other plane out there. I play this games for fun and the test of skill. Now I know you will say, "Then why do not buy Zero". It's simple really. I do not want to buy the super plane of the month. I played SOG back when it was released and bought the corsair. Great plane but after owning the noobs and fighting against the same plane that I had felt this game was one plane game. I was right, it seems 2.0 just brought a new super plane that is way better than the last one. I bought both of my mustangs and my yak bacause I like the plane. I stoped flying the corsair and will not fly the Super Zero because it is thee plane right. I want balance and vairity. The Zero-III is icon right now of unbalance and the only way to fly. That is why I hate Zeros (Super Planes). P.S. my Witch Hunt post is part joke, part frusation at this only one plane is really great system.
Same here. I haven't played her recently because both games I've entered with her in the room she's immediately left (within 4 seconds). I don't know if she's avoiding me because I'm currently playing as Squishy, though I may have been Squishy when I played her over a week ago. She can certainly cause some damage in a h2h because she was in the Yak but get her in a dogfight and she's a pretty effortless kill. I'm sure she's a lurker on here since she (let's be honest, probably a he) seems to want to mix it up with those of you who constantly talk about her in posts. I did the same thing when I lurked and would go from room to room looking for any of you guys with the hope that you would then come on here and mention me.
I can understand not liking the Z-III because it's too perfect but I disagree with the part about "loving the Zero because it gives us an edge on any other plane". I play SoG in the hopes of running into the best pilots and the pinnacle of this game is to go h2h with a top pilot in the best plane and see if you're really as good as they are. I don't get any satisfaction out of shooting down P-40's in a single pass and lopsided rooms take only a few minutes to empty out. I would prefer if every plane had the exact same stats and you could just pick based on which was your favorite by appearance or national pride or whatever. I know other guys like the idea of mismatched planes that create an opposing strategy dynamic. Do you choose speed and maneuverability but no armor or would you rather have a flying tank that's armed to the teeth but can barely get out of its own way?
I don't really like the idea of top planes matched in everything except different shells. Still prefer every plane to have some differences so one need to adopt different techniques to master the plane. The market stats of Z3, Yak3, Mosquito are very well arranged and they can be equally matched but having different strength and weakness, if only the program codes is same ad what's shown in the market stats. If only.... Argh! I still can't figure out what's SGN up to.
I that is what I want. Every plane, except the P-40, should have it's trade offs and weakness, Zero should be an agle bird with great acceration but no way should it keep up with the mustang. Different planes will lead to different styles of flying. I hope SGN is listening. @Chonch You kind off proved my point about only one plane works philosophy. Only the Zero works in competive games. It should not be like that. The same plane with different look is still the same plane. Why do you want to do that? I find it much more satisfying to down zeros with a non zero plane it is much hard than is looks. Also does any one thing this game should have hardcore mode? That is when you have no assits just your gunsites and the sky.
Well I can say that she does like to play against people she recognizes. I killed her once when I was incognito and she left the game, then she wouldn't stick around in another game... so then I went and changed my name back to [SAB]Orion, and she would play against me and stick around. Lots of GG's and Nice's too! I like her whoever she is.. I can see too wanting to stick around only with people she thinks are going to be a challenge... think I'll just play as myself now Oh and I was in a game with you M@yh3m and I hit the "Audios" button by mistake, and then you said "Audios" and left I hate it when I do that!
That's what we had before, and I loved it. I will still fly the zero III only because on that rare occasion when I do run into a seasoned vet in one, I don't want to be at a disadvantage. Those types of games are just better when everyone is in the best plane.
Would it be even better that you could compete with any plane you wanted and still have enough plane to fly in those games? I mean why does the one plane have to be thee plane for competive flying. Oh well I will see you guys tomarrow. Good night.
I don't like having one plane be the competitive plane either, but unfortunately thats the way it is. Now I had just put my ZeroIII in the hangar and got out my BF.... and then Keebler shows up! Now I thought I did pretty well considering... he knows I did pretty well considering, but I know that both of us would have had more fun if I were just in that stupid zero III! I couldn't keep up with him in kills either, cause I felt like I was a snail trying to race cheetah to a kill! GG Keebler buddy! First time I have seen you in weeks and I wasn't dressed for the occasion! I do need a cigarette now though! Oh before you say anything about that, I ordered one of those e-cigs that won't kill me... should be here tomorrow... I hope it gives me the nicotine it needs, and it works for me. EDIT: They can't make a new batch of better planes fast enough for my liking. I hope they are listening as well. I did notice that some of the games were up for longer and I had more people enter games after it emptied, not quite there yet, but I do believe they are working on that.
Who's "Badness"? Is that someone from here? Just met him in a TP room and we were basically 1vs1 since our wingmen were all incompetent. He's one of the better players I've ever played against. I got a lot of "GG!" out of him after each go around. Seems like a good guy.
GG! Vanessa! Had a 50 kills match with her in Z3. She won by being the first to reach 50 kills but I'm not far behind at 46 kills in my Yak3. Think the kill ratio between me and her is 1:1. She not as good as Sola but certainly on par with most of us here. I am sure she is not one of us because she don't know about Chonch manuever. And i am pretty sure I'm popular because she kept coming for me at beginning despite I'm just Shern without SAB tag. Then our good friend, Al Quaeda, entered at late part of the game, and he's in Yak3. Once me and Vanessa are in hot embrace of each other in furball and both of us heavily smoked, Al came in and killed us both in single bust.
The Zero II used to be impossible to beat, then it was the Hein and then of late the ZIII... The Japanese planes have been the best dog fighting planes in SoG with the Hein as king of H2H for a while...
