Thanks for not thinking us too old! That's exactly what my eyes were doing to me the other day, I also gave myself a bad case of veritgo one night after playing to much. I've never had a video game give me vertigo before, but I haven't been this addicted to a video game for a long time. Oh I see your SAB otter! I've played against you a few times, and I remember them being quite fun!
I am enjoying strafing people with all guns ablaze! I think I do like the cannons better than the rockets now. Yes I watched the whole terminator thing. I was just kind of hanging out and trying to watch the carnage from a distance, as much as I could. It was kind of amusing!
Dang! And I don't receive any commision from SGN. I'm now also on Corsair. That's why I remove the plane type in my signature since I keep changing and I've all 10 planes in my hanger. Next update I believe it's the grey P51 that will become superior than Corsair.
Keebler, which plane did you get? The Corsair? I like the Corsair! There's never a reason for real life not to supersede a video game, particularly for us parents. By all means -- keep your child from choking! When we fly with other SABs we try not to shoot each other in FFA (free for all), nor if we're on opposite teams. When it's a team game and we find ourselves on opposing teams, we often try to leave and re-join with the hope of landing on the same team. There is nothing like knowing you have someone flying with you who can help clean a bogey off your tail from time to time, and for whom you can do the same. It's really fun. Too bad there's no communication, though. And it's never something you have to feel committed to staying with when real life calls. I have a kid who keeps me from playing, too, but for entirely different reasons. He has the iPod, and I don't! So when he wants it I'm out I need to get one myself, though he's really generous with it. He's 14, and was born when I was 30. His iPod touch is a 2nd gen, and my wife has a 1st gen, which I sometimes play on -- but I notice that its performance is a bit lower and I'm just a shade less effective. On my wife's iPod I'm Downstroyer. Keebler, Orion, I think it would be fun to have you guys join SAB. .
SAB group is totally not connected to the game in terms of system. It's get more challenging being a member because we don't kill one another in the game. So we can't just happy trigger at anyone. We have to check friend or foe first before firing.
OK then Frumius, you convinced me! I will go ahead then and take away the [O.F] (old fart) in front of my name and add [SAB] and join in the fun! I will either be [SAB]Orion7319, or just [SAB]Orion. Yes it does sound like you need to get yourself your own Ipod. I have heard that the 3G's are even faster than the 2G's. I can't compare as I only have ever owned the new 3G, but that's what I hear anyway. The only reason I even have one at all is we won it at my wife's companies Christmas party this year I do agree, that the Corsair is the best, its the only plane I fly now. I think the Zero is the second best and then after that I like the mustang, followed by the red spitfire. Does anyone know if the SoG upgrade will let you see your ranking? I'm curious where I'm at now as I just got kill #4,000 last night (not bad for a newb I suppose)
Is it really official already? h0130j03, the founder of SAB, has to give you access to our Touch Arcade Social group for it to be Officially official, which I'm sure can happen as soon as he knows what's happening here. I don't see you in the member list yet. I'll PM you both. [edit: PM sent]
Haha. When I first saw u, I thought it some SAB imposter. Then I remembered Orion, you. I thought great u have joined. Then I just went to SAB group to welcome u but find your name not in the list. Haha.
Zero was actually the best fighter plane in WW2. I just found out from the web. And it's also the best in SoG. The key strength is it can turn tight while moving fast, thus allowing u to find target easy while avoiding being hit. I just had a FFA game and I zoomed to 70 kills without realizing. I got so engross in killing planes one after another that I didn't check my kills. It's slight lower firepower does not slow down my killing rate. And flying the zero give me the smooth feeling in handling the plane. I'm gonna stick to Zero. It's more fun to fly in a plane that moves so quick and sharp. Keebler, I hope u like the Corsair, but don't ever try the Zero. I don't want u to become better than me.
Thanks! I jumped the gun I guess! I do have a question though, how do you get the nice screenshots from the ipod? I guess I'll use a camera. Where do I post that? In the meantime I will remove the [SAB] from my name so when you guys see "Orion7319" please don't kill me!
Shern, you know better than to believe everything you read on the web! The Zero was an unpleasant surprise for the Americans and the British in the first year of the war, but it was by no measure the best fighter in the war. Its high maneuverability was obtained at the expense of both speed and armor, and it was easily dominated by later allied planes. The best single-piston-engined fighters of the war by most accounts were the P-51D Mustang and the Focke-Wulf FW190D/TA152 (the so-called "long-nose" FW, which would be a great candidate to add to SoG in the next release).
OK I just figured out how to take a snapshot with the ipod. I got quite a scare though, as I held the buttons to long and then it reset and then froze on the ipod logo. I had to call Apple tech support, and they got me squared away. Apple's tech support is top notch let me say Anyway I'm just going to post my screen shot here for SAB Thanks
The FW190 in the game seems to be the A model. The FW190D was a later development, the TA152 the end of the line.
Yep! It's hard complete 100 dogfights isn't it! And yes I used rockets, reading this forum is what made me switch to the cannons. I found that the dogfight missions started to get difficult when it reached 80% difficulty. I didn't see how I could win that last 100th dogfight going head to head with them, so I figured out a strategy that works, though its still difficult to pull off (and no it doesn't involve trying to get them to crash). I could share it with the SAB folks I suppose once I get in officially
