wow.. unbelievable... : makes me lots of difficulties when I fly BF... how do you do this with a p40? It's one of the most beautiful planes in SoG, but so slow and so weak. cool.:):)

It's beef and it's good! I don't really need to know the details! I also ate way too much of it this past Fri night! Almost made myself sick actually!

Yes I do! Wow!!! I went up against him in a Hein I last night, I bet he's starting to wonder what's up with all the top 10's in there crappy planes! :) I think I shall start my evening with a p-40 I, followed by whatever whim i feel like next. The zero I is calling me tonight as well I think:)

Does one lose one's dogfights or planes?

You loose your dogfights and all your stats on your ipod, however your online score is unaffected as it is tied to your device. Your planes you will get back if you hit the restore purchases option. I think even if you have the BoB and you have unlocked them all already, don't quote me on that, though. So really aside from flying around unlocking the "10 mulitplayer kills" and stuff like that again, everything else is fine.

Is anyone here going by "Yo Mama" I just had a fun game with him, going mono e mono for a good long time! I was in a BF and he was in a zero III. Right before my battery died he started doing some veteran like moves rather than just letting me continue to try and have at him in H2H runs :) I'm thinking it was one of you guys, cause he had some of these veteran moves down pat that he was throwing at me there at the end :) I would have stayed longer but my battery died, GG Yo Mama, whoever you are :)

EDIT: I had to get the BF out cause you were slaughtering me in the p-40I when I was going H2H with you earlier :)

GN, I use the Hien because I will not get any better at this game using the Z3. It is more of a challenge flying against the best pilots here using something other then the best plane out there. Although my KDR rating takes a beating! The best part is when I do take the Z3 out for a spin I am all over the place. Kind of like ice skating for the first time. Thanks for the games!

I do think there is something to what you are saying... but consider this:

The Zero 3 is the most responsive, fastest, and has the quickest acceleration of any plane out there. The Zero III actually requires more raw flying skill than the others for the same reason that it requires more skill to drive a Ferrari than a Volkswagen bug from the Sixties. If you're used to a P-40, or even more extreme, if you're used to the Tempest and you get in a Zero III you'll be wobbling all over the place until you bring your own responses up to match its own performance capabilities.

Now turn your sensitivity to MAX. I ask you, flying which plane will build your skills faster: the Zero III at Max responsiveness, or the P-40? I believe it is the one that takes the greatest skill to fly that will improve your raw plane-handling skills the most.

However, and this goes back to your point, for someone who has become accustomed to the Zero III and is fully able to take advantage of its amazing handling and performance, it can be difficult to eke out a victory when one switches back to a significantly lesser plane. It will require a different set of skills to find ways to exploit the weaknesses of your enemies' superior planes when your plane simply doesn't have some of the moves one has become used to in the Zero III.

I think both points, Frumius & Thomas8294, are valid but for different reasons. I've started playing lesser planes, like the Hien, and find it challenging precisely because I've become the weaker adversary. It has forced me to look for tactics, patterns, or opportunities that minimize my own risk while maximizing the other guy's.

For instance, today I noticed a trend that I see with some noobs - and even one or two veterans who are flying aggressively - When they go h2h, they start firing from way too far away. As they approach, you get a pattern: long burst -- pause -- long burst -- pause -- etc. (I assume from them mashing the guns till they overheat). Furthermore, they tend to only re-aim in between bursts. If you time it right, you can actually jump off-center between each taser burst, avoiding it entirely, and still keep the target directly ahead. When they're close enough, just center up and unload on 'em! This is a nice tactic if you're looking at a whole squadron behind the first guy.

Does anyone else here approach the game in terms of strategy or do most players focus on flying skill and just mow their opponents down?

EDIT: Speaking of getting mowed down, this Vanessa has some bad@ss voodoo working for her. I stepped out in the Hien-I, got smacked around a bit. Figured it was the plane, so I went back out in the Yak-3

    . . . No, it was her, definitely her ;_;

Hey Orion, radar has picked up two unidentified bogies on the horizon that are closing fast 1) iPhone (132605) and 2) iPod touch (130566). Intelligence data strongly suggests iPhone is Sola..........as for the second?:)

Just remember to take it slow, and really be careful with taking off the back plate for the first time, as that is usually the hardest part. I would also suggest going ahead and getting a higher capacity battery while you are at it. Might as well get that out of the way if yours has some age to it.

I know... Keebler is about to become the center of a Sola sandwich! There is no way I could catch Sola I at this point. I have thought it over and I am just going to duck and cover! Eventually if not me and Keebler than someone else will overtake Sola I and he will only be in the top 10 once at that point :) It's all good! I am just amazed as is everyone I am sure, how quickly he has managed to get this far!

I rely on both.... when I'm feeling lazy and there aren't any challenging players around, I just rely on my skill. If I am in a tough match, I will bring my A game and bring out all my tricks :) So you have run into Vanessa too:) Yeah... she's a tough one!

True, but having mastered the zero III I found I got bored with it more quickly than other planes just cause it is so good. Also the whole server thing and I can't find anyone really. There is one good thing about the servers as they are now. Usually me and the other dominant player in a game (usually a skilled player in a zero III) is all that remains at the end, and so I get what I got last night, a mono e mono in a lesser plane against a really good player in a zero III. This guy "Yo Mama" I was actually thinking I could have had some fun with in my zero III. I held my own though in the BF and in taking these lesser planes out of the hangar, one thing I have learned is the zero III does have it's weaknesses. To me the most important thing I need in a plane is some decent maneuverability. Also I think that due to it's yaw not being the best, the zero III isn't necessarily the most maneuverable. The BF, Hein II and the Mustang II have much better yaw control and I think if they released versions of these planes that only changed the speed to match the zero III, then we could see a more balanced lineup of planes, like what we had before.

    Hi GN,

I have to admit I thought it was an imposter flying the P40. I held off chasing you in it because I wasn't sure.

    I guess it wasn't! :)
