I completely understand - when I first started playing I used rockets and can still feel that deep sly satisfaction from lobbing one in from afar and knocking someone out. It's like smack - you want to do it again and again, even when you know better! But like a cheap date, it leaves you empty and unfullfilled in the end. It lacks that up close and personal smack down of double guns. But the rocket sirens sing and call to you nonetheless ... Bukki

Agreed on own rooms. I do them a lot under just Bukki, but lately they seem to populate near instantly with P40s flying on straight lines or doing an endless loop in the same place. My own rooms haven't drawn in many top players for quite a while so then I go back to hopping game to game every 15 kills looking for recognizable names. Or Mozzies - I have a thing for targeting them for inexplicable reasons. Bukki

anyone else notice they took down the SOG facebook fan page. They say it's temporary, but I have to wonder why.
Weird they closed that page, i think new players may get the wrong impression from comments being made, I still say this is easily the best game on the iPhone-it's just that it used to be better, and the servers going down for 2 days or whatever it was coinciding with the games rise in the top25 free games!? A big error on their part which will no doubt has cost customers and good reviews which I would imagine are very beneficial to games success. 5 ratings will surely result in more and more popularity.(look at doodle jump&angry birds!) With a bit of common sense and listening to some of the things on here SGN could be onto even more of a winner!
Apparently they "updated" this app and according to the reviews it no longer lets you free memory, all it does now is tell you how much memory is being used and if you need to restart your ipod. Don't let this app update if it is working for you!
GG Mihre2! It looks like you joined the forum just in time. SGN deactivating their page is only going to drive every other good player from facebook here too. I'm just glad I no longer have to check both pages to keep up with everyone.
No doubt it is still the best app... like you said though some of the changes they made, didn't help it any. It used to be more on par with a console game, and I think we are so critical of it because they really raised the bar with it and we all have high expectations of it.
It sounds like it was a wonderful app at one time. I hate doing hard restarts on my ipod, because it takes mine more than five minutes to come back up.
[regarding the speculation that SGN took their Facebook page down because it was filled with complaints] SGN needs to hear the complaints and criticism. Revo built a great couple of games in FAST and SoG, but SGN just can't take the hand-off. They don't know what to do with the ball once they have it. They didn't study the playbook! Revo give's 'em the ball, and they run the wrong way, and score! (I'm thinking of some of the players on my kid's basketball team here... pass 'em the ball and they blow it.) They intend to have games randomly disappear when they aren't full and have the place populated with QuickRooms? Sometimes I need to leave and re-join I in order to balance out a game by getting on the side that has only ONE PLAYER on it -- but I can't because my game has DISAPEARED! My games fill up quickly, but after that as people leave no one enters to replace them... at those times I figure my game got "disappeared" by SGN and their right-on intentional lunacy. Yes, they are mad. Quite mad. I boycott QuickRooms, never enter them. I think SGN likes them, but I sure don't know why. I make my own or enter other people's games. QuickRooms are too impersonal. Online play needs more of a social aspect, and that's diminished by an auto-generated room. Plus, they aren't necessary when other games are up! Why have them when other games are up? They seem anti-customer. We who are the most hardcore with their games tell them what we think an they either dig in and don't budge or go the opposite way.
a few pages back, I think SOG mentioned something about refreshing the rooms puts extra loads on the servers so maybe their quickrooms is a way around more pilots creating rooms b/c the rooms are already created? Just a thought..
Hi All, Since I've recently been called out, there's no sense in lurking. I've been here on and off for a while enjoying the discussions. I'm a veteran from F.A.S.T., but stopped playing h2h when they came out with the BFM missiles - as that was an arms race I can't afford. After getting bored w/FAST missions & campaigns, I'd thought I'd check out SoG. I haven't looked back since. I'm not underage, far from it, just time-strapped. I love the game, love the forum, and love flying/with against you all. I definitely have been humbled by some of the expertise I've come across.
Sweet, I was right! Welcome to the forum. I've had so many good/challenging games with you, iooi and several others I wish would join TA as well. I've noticed that I tend to get annoyed when I'm dominated by an opponent I don't already know from here. NeLge or Sola can kill me 20 times in a row and it doesn't seem to bother me but when a stranger puts up a good fight I sometimes get really frustrated so I'm glad you've come onboard.
