Sorry you guys are jonesing for some SoG! At least the weather here is sooooo nice today! It's 75 degrees, with a nice breeze blowing... a perfect spring day! My wife and I loaded the little one into his bike trailer and spent about two hours riding bikes though out all the close by neighborhoods. Knowing the servers are down is kind nice in a way to be honest... I can just enjoy the wonderful day without the temptation to hop online. I do hope it's back up by tonight though......

Wish the server went down while I was still #20 lol Thing is I'm now worrying the server will come back online once I'm tucked up in bed only for you and Sola to extend your tally BTW nice work last night you pegged me back some Shame how things turned out today - I was hoping to get a big points haul this morning, top out at 100k, then consolidate this afternoon/evening... ah well, the good lady wife has plans for me tonight (TV unfortunately lol). Still not working so I'm calling it a day... lets hope things are back to normal soon hey?
I really hope that after being down on a weekend and for this long, we really see some improvements when they go back online... like no more crashes, and a Mustang II that's as fast as the zero III
Yeah, it's going on 24 hours now. I'm definitely expecting some new planes or some other serious new features. I'd really like a ranking system that's based on skill rather than just the kills=points system they have now. Where once you reach 1000 kills your kdr becomes a factor as well as number of kills in one continuous game, or kills against other high-ranked players. This would prevent players from doing "drive-by" style dogfighting where one would enter a room, make two or three quick kills and then exit once their health gets low. I would still want to retain the current ranking system but have both side-by-side. I just think the current system puts too much emphasis on how much you play rather than purely on how well you play. I think most of us would agree that for the guys in the Top 10 it's about 90/10 for skill/playing time where for a lot of guys in the Top 500 it's really more like 50/50 or even 30/70.
they could at least offer some different rankings... I'm sure it's pretty easy to do if you want. Daily highscores local highscores FFA/TP/DTB scores and so on...
It's an interesting thought, but i don't know how the coding for this would work. I would think it's not easy to start adding in player's ranks to be taken into account for in-game scoring. For one, there are too many player and for another, rankings can change quickly which is why there's probably a delay in your scores updating. I respectively disagree about your thoughts that the current system focuses on how much you play b/c i think if someone sucks, it won't matter how much they play Along with that is the idea that the more you play, the more someone (theoretically of course), gets better. I can see where your ideas come from b/c you are, as you said, obsessed about your KDR - nothing wrong with that. I was too before, but now that I've become better (which you are already), I don't worry about it. I let my wings slice the air and my weapons slice the planes and the rest takes care of itself. I personally don't think they need to change the scoring system. I mean, maybe they could add daily scores and such, but that would probably mean more cost to the developers and thus, down to us. I think the emphasis on the game should be continued gameplay enhancements in the form of new planes; the tweaking of the current planes criteria (ie. proper speed, armour and weapons) and maybe a few new maps or missions. this does suck, but my Montreal Canadiens are on vs the Washington Capitals so it's hockey watching for me! I know of you might not like the sport, but if you're in NA and can find it on TV, give it a whirl. Every game of the playoffs is purely insane...hard hitting...every goal counts, every save is huge. So much parody in the league finally, that ALL the games are close. I know the NCAA basketball tourney is fun, but no sport championship series has it better than the NHL playoffs (maybe not the regular season, but the playoffs are insane!!!!)
Keebler, I spent the last 20 years in Maine with several family friends playing for UMaine Hockey and also doing some Junior Hockey in Canada so I agree with you. I am a Penguins fan myself. Have been since the early 80's. there is almost nothing like playoff hockey! Goodluck tonight.
Guys, the server is still UP.....for FAST! I downloaded the FAST free and later upgrade to a fully paid one in my new iphone. And because I've the SoG BoB version, i got 200 BFM missiles for free! And another 10 free BFM missiles for forgot what reason. So I have 210 BFM misslies. Watch out Sola, Origami, NeLge, etc etc because I got 210 BFM missiles loaded in my Zero3. Muahahahaha! OK, back to serious stuff (but i really have 210 BFM missiles for free). Twolf has lost his no1 position to this guy called sabrex (smtg like this). While we all have migrated to SoG, the FAST is still very active with players and games. The top100 certainly has changed a lot since the last time I checked few months ago. And my local ranking revealed that my countrymen are more into FAST than SoG. Maybe they down the SoG server and put in the advertistement on FAST in our SoG app, to get all of us back to FAST???

My iphone 3GS = [SAB]Shadowhawk-Z I will not tell u what's the last name I used that I've been asking u guys to guess but so far no one has guessed it right, and is mainly because I am seldom being seen online by players here.
I tried playing FAST online in 1v1 vs 1300 rating player. I only have F14 and F4. But when i play, I totally forgot where's the throttle and firing button! At least I found the flare and release one before quitting the game. I have to start on tutorial and trainings.
Chonch, As an "average" player (top 500) I agree with you that there is too much emphasis on how much you play rather than how well you play. For example, I can only play about 1/2 hour per day & am probably stuck where I am (in the rankings) unless I magically get a lot better. Would like to see some way that I can "advance" without just increasing my hours playing. Granted, the more I play the better I get so it is still possible to inch up in the rankings. When I look at the scores of the top 10, it seems like the *only* way to get there & hold your position is through sheer hours (and of course some amazing skills). Is #1 really better than #2? Or has he just put in hundreds more hours? Just my thoughts .... Michael (Briareus)
I think we all have mistaken what the top10 list is about. The menu say "High scores", not high skill. The app has yet to be able to rank players by skills which I think it's quite impossible. The current top10 is just top10 highest scores. So do whatever it take to meet the objective, which is about scores rather than skill.
