    Cool, an iPad :)

I assume there is on iPad version for SoG and you're just playing it either small or resized, right? I bet if they came out with one that was for the iPad it could be really nice.

You know what else the iPad will be for gamers of accelerometer-using games? Weights! An exercise thing! Everyone will get much stronger arms!

Somebody should develop a way to hook up the iPhone or iPod to a flat screen tv!

I'm gonna re-roll, really re-roll like Sola. Gonna trade in my iPhone with the 3GS. Just can't bear with the sucky control and always have to play Ocean map. I've almost forgotten how other maps look like.

Reaching a certain rank in the high score is easier than maintaining it. It looks like one need to achieve 500 kills per day to be among top10. With my current slow Wifi/3G connection and bad control issue, I can only achieve 150 kills per hour, including breaks. So to achieve 500 kills per day will mean to spend 3hrs per day playing this game! Origami and NeLge probably need to spend just an hour to have 500 kills, maybe more.

So by trading in my iPhone will force me give up pursuing top10 and to play this game as and when I'm free and I can finally enjoy the game wihout control issue. Will still have Internet connection issue but at least it's down to one issue only which I have been bearing with it since the FAST days.

Already done: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1454. The trouble is, the iPhone has to be docked.

Regarding video out on iPhone/ iPod touch:

    Wait.

The real trouble is: This only gives video out from movies and photos. Not Apps. It'd be great if that changed in a software update, wouldn't it?

The good part is that you don't need the dock to get video to the TV; you need the Component AV cable or Composite AV Cable, which you still need even if you have that dock. It's the cable that takes video to the TV, and it plugs into the iPod/iPad/iPhone dock connector. I am not certain about the iPad.

I have the Composite AV cable for the Touch, and that's the way it works. I don't use any dock.

I know of no cable for HDMI, but that doesn't mean it's not out there.

    Here's the Composite A/V cable:

The Yellow is video, and red/white is right/left audio. The USB cable you see is included and plugs into the wall charger, which is also included and allows you to charge while you stream video to the TV. This is possible because the USB cable is integrated with the same dock connector that the A/V cables are using. There are 3rd party A/V cables, too, but maybe not ones that also let you charge.

The above is the lesser of the two; the Component AV cable carries a better signal, but I didn't have those inputs. They are Red, Green, and Blue in color. You should check your TV/DVD player for the best input and get the appropriate cable.

Well, that's a bummer. I think there must be some way for apps to use the video output, though, because you sometimes see what seems to be video capture from iPhone apps. I know someone who's an Apple developer, I'll see if he has any more info.

Nice Training, GN, thanks a lot.. it's always a pleasure to fly against you... ;)

I have to exercise the quick turns again. I never use them with noobs... and the mossie is not so easy to turn fast and after some damage I can only turn slow.. so I couldn't see you most of the time...

Have you been flying the p38?
Because of so many bullets I couldn't see you plane anyway...
but it was big like a monster.

But it's nice when you use a big plane, so the chance to spot you increases darmatically. (it' won't help anyway, lol)

Actually, this reminds me that I have thought SoG would be very good on Wii - like a much better version of Blazing Angels. I would assume that the multiplayer element could still be included.

    Great game, thank you Mr.Higgins.:)

When a big airplane receives damage, the turn is slow.

In this case, you must think about the success of bail out.

    And, I am always using P38. :)

would be nice to get more information from razvan... because somewhere must be defined where the stream of bullets ends... how far it can reach. Then maybe there is also a certain spread of the bullet stream, which will be bigger in far distance...
Is the bulletstream endless and unspread (weak) you should be able to fire and hit with every plane from far distance... I could hit planes in the spawn area rocketing from my spawn point. I hit them often. So it should be possible to hit them with canon or MG.
If it's endless it should be possible to shoot in your back, because the world is round. (is SoG flat?)

    but who knows? :p

Again, many questions to Razvan. What's the difference between cannon and MG? Did they implicate the different cannon positions at all?

Can you lose first olny one engine in the mossie or the p38? And after this the second?

    Hi tee-em,

this won't happen for a long time. Apple wants to drive their apps through their devices. Think about the ipad - I'd we were able to connect our touches or iPhones to a tv, it would defeat the purpose of the ipad

I do agree with you - it would be neat to see the output on a tv.
I think it also has to do with resolutions

ok... if you go there.. install SoG light and try it out. They should rearrange the controls that they are in reach of the thumb. If they just upsize everything its really hard to fly... Maybe SGN should provide different steering methods, like they do in racing games too. But then the game gets completely different to play.

EDIT: and try to make a pic... The resolution must be better than on a iphone.. Wonderful postcards... :)
