Hi badmanj, Just buy the game and recite the above prayer every night and the elf can't hurt you. (Keebler- the elfninja- likes to use Jedi mind tricks and ninja tactics to scare his opponents. That stuff doesn't work on the followers of CHUCK NORRIS)
Thanks for the whuppin! That my Z3 behind the two of you. Not a good spot to be! You made the whuppin very civil!
Hey, Tom, welcome aboard. Boy, what do you know! You show up here and there's a picture with you in it!
Did you remember to observe the mossie code? I've gone back to the z3 for while (after a few too many traumatic encounters yesterday) but will still take the mossie out as often as I can. You'll know which one I'm using from my name. SGN might never fix the spec issues completely to avoid a backlash from buyers used to their planes being able to do certain things (like hyperdrive in the Z3). However, I hope that they might at least tweak the firepower of the planes to make them perform as advertised. On the longer range of the mossie I'm not 100% sure it really does. What I find is that it's a very steady firing platform. The fact it doesn't close range as fast as a z3 also means you have more time to shread targets ahead of you. Anyways I love the plane and if it's firepower is fixed to be 5 stars and the z3's readjusted back to 4.5 stars like it's supposed to, than I might switch over permanently.
Hey Jamie, Join us, most rooms are full of newbies so you will not suffer too much. If you are in a room with me and do OUCH! a few times after I have fragged you, I will leave you alone...
GG Orion!!! That was fun. I'll grill some Zero while you grill some steak. Welcome to the forum Thomas! GG!
Among the top planes, only the P38-L-I game performance is aligned completely to what the spec says, on speed, armor, firepower and handling. The Z3 is not aligned on it's firepower and speed higher than the spec. The Yak is not aligned on it's firepower lower than the spec. The Mosquito is not aligned in everything except armor. It's speed and handling are higher than spec but firepower less than spec.
Oh no way! That's too cool! You were a tough opponent! I don't think Handy realizes this, but I shot you down a few times as you were right on his six about to take him out! I had a lot of fun with you in that game! Anyone who sticks around to face off against two SAB's gets my respect! Great Game and welcome to the forums!
I started a game and the first player entered is a Z3 vet. He knows not to engage in h2h with a P38. So he managed to get into furball with me without being smoked up. I know I will lose because this is no noob in Z3. I try to circle randomly and to survive as long as I can. Then help came. Another Z3 vet entered and I felt relieved. Looking at radar, the second Z3 is heading to the first Z3. I cannot try to do h2h with the 2nd Z3 because I'll be sandwiched between the 2 Z3 firing path. So I continue to fly randomly until he entered into furball. Then I start to target either of them. Then the first Z3 was killed since he already received some damage from me in the initial run. The 2nd Z3 was also damaged by the first Z3. I managed to killed the 2nd Z3 as he's not ready yet to engage me in dogfight. So in the beginning of the FFA match, it's 2 Z3 down with the P38 still standing.
GG! Lav//erd!!! Very interesting and effective mozzie busting technique. If you haven't tried the mosquito or the capt america, I recommend them both. See you next time...
Well we have the SAB ROE so as long as we both have the SAB in the name we don't shoot each other down I have taken everything out today from the Zero III to the Tempest! I hear you on the traumatic experiences in them Yes I don't think that SGN can really downgrade anything at this point and not have a backlash, I think though that they can upgrade some planes. I'm not sure what it is exactly about the Mosquito and its firepower but I do think it does concentrates its rounds. How much more distance that might give them, I can't say. All I know for sure is that they seem more accurate to me. I think we can assume with a fair amount of certainty that it will have a lot more firepower as Razvan thinks that it should! It will be really cool once it does
I can only imagine! Lav//erd is one fellow you don't want to find yourself squaring off against in a Mosquito!
In real life (and in SoG), the Mosquito and the P-38 have nose-mounted armament, while most single-engined fighters have their armament wholly or partly in the wings. Nose-mounted guns fire along the fuselage axis and are therefore aimed correctly for targets at any range, but wing-mounted guns have to be "harmonized", i.e. aimed slightly inward of dead ahead so that their fire converges on a notional target some distance ahead of the plane. If the gun model in SoG is accurate, then the positions of the guns on the different planes should translate, as some here have noted, into more effective long-range fire for those with nose-mounted guns, and more "shotgun" type fire for those with wing-mounted guns. Below is a quick check on the gun locations in the game. It would be pretty remarkable for SGN to build in this level of detail, but it is consistent with what some are describing. Plane MG/Cannon -------------------- p-38, mosquito nose/nose Zero, Hien nose/wing bf109, p40, yak inner wing/outer wing Spitfire, Tempest, Mustang, Corsair wing/wing
GN-0000, Are u on vacation? Your score havnt been moving for past 2-3 days. U're suppose to meet the quota of 500 kills per day. If u're still not meeting your quota, u'll be fired! Jk
As far as positoning they got it right. In terms of effect I have my doubts and don't think they have given the mossie or p38 any extra range or damage effect (Razvan please enlighten us). What's a fact is that the mossie's fire power factor is 1.22 (5 stars rating) and the z3's is much higher at 1.42 (with a lower 4.5 stars rating). But after some rough experimenting I agree with Shern and acknowledge the mossie's handling and speed is better than it should be based on number of stars and more or less on par with the p38. So it balances out in the end but with the z3 who knows what's going on?
When there's only one Z3 in the FFA room, the P38 in the room is nothing but a large piece of steak for the Z3 to munch. But when there's more than one Z3 in the room, the P38 become the Nemesis to all the Z3 in the room. Muahahahaha! That's why now I'm not complaining about Yak3 firepower anymore. I got the P38 to deal with Z3.
