It's kinda interesting because in a historical way the zeros shouldnt have as much armor as they have at all.
Lav//erde, GG! That was fun! I brought my buzz-saw to the party... I'm really starting to like it more and more! EDIT: And who the heck is Chestecles, in the zero III? That had to be somebody from here! lol
Lav//erde knows when I'm going to do it too and is always right there with a few far reaching bullets to get the easy kill.
I think this escape tactic cannot work against someone from this forum using Z3. He will be expecting u to use this tactic and increase his speed getting ready for u to flee. I forgot whom I played against but he always get me when I sped off. I've also shot down some Z3 trying to use this tactic but u've to be in Z3 in order to pursue the smoking Z3.
The SoG Zeros do follow the history: Zero-I is A6M2 which had little armor in history. According to Cometti's report, the green Zero is the plane with least armor in SoG inventory. Zero-II is A6M6. History said pilot protection was included in this version. Zero-III is Ki-100 dubbed as the Super Zero in history. Analyst said no Allied plane can outperform this fighter, which is same as in SoG.
ahhh. yeah the episode I was watching was speaking of the hellcat being actually better the zero and that the zero was no longer the clear leader. But in the episode they are talking about the A6M6 for the comparison. I'm sure the people over at SGN and revo have done their homework. hehe
My new name is [SAB]SHERO. I will be using this name for long term. Don't know what it meant but just saw this name in a new song released from a Chinese pop singer group called S.H.E. I thought the name is quite similar to shern, just swap the n with a O. And sounds cool.
You have used so many names so far......but for some reason I really like this one too. pronounced....shearo not sheero....how are you pronouncing it? It's funny it reminds me of a Thomas the train movie I bought for my 3 year old son called "hero of the rails" there is a japanese train in the movie and his name is hero....
From Wikipedia: Specifications Ki-100-1a/b Goshikisen Max Speed: 580 km/h (362 mph) Cruise Speed 400 km/h (249 mph) Specifications P-51D Mustang Max Speed:703 km/h (437 mph) Cruise Speed: 580 km/h (362 mph) Look at that! The P-51 Mustang cruised at the "Super Zero's" max speed. 'Nuff said. I want my Mustang to perform like the awesome beast it was, and the Zero... likewise
GG! Orion7319!! your performance in that plane was amazing Your are the perfect example that the zero is not always effective good game!! I know right?? Chestecles and P09 don't remember his name, excellent players!!
Ringer was also in that game and he Is also another great player I think! I enjoy playing against him Thanks buddy I think there are two planes right now that when used correctly can match up against the zero III. The p-38 and the Mosquito. I like the Mosquito better because for some reason I can manuver around in it better than in the p-38. Honestly a lot of it is understainding the tendancies of pilots in a zero III. Origami I'm sure knows what I am talking about! At any rate I am happier now that I know that there is something I can use other than the zero III. Oddly enough, it makes using the zero III now seem not quite as "wrong" to me now! Still though we do need some more equilly adept dogfighter planes to balance things out more!
I am so with you on that one my friend! We need a new "super mustang"! EDIT: I am salivating at just the thought of it! Hehe
Hello Orion7319, I am a average-poor player (2 deaths per kill) but I love the Mosquito. There's something about it's lumbering style that I really like. Would you care to share publicly any strategies for "Mosquito success"? I would like to stick to the plane but have serious trouble in dogfights. I doubt anyone's top 10 ranking will be in jeapordy from your advice! Michael
The P51D is the Mustang in the game, at least by appearance. Earlier Mustangs did not have the bubble canopy. The Zero III is a gamer's fantasy. If it were historically faithful, it would be highly maneuverable (as it is), lightly armed and armored, and quick to accelerate but not especially fast. There was no "Super Zero" that could go head to head with US planes like the Hellcat after 1943, though the later Zero models always remained dangerous in the hands of a good pilot. The Ki-100 - best of the Japanese fighters at the end of the war - was not a Zero at all - it was a development of the Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien with a radial engine that gave it a superficial resemblance to the Zero. The Ki-100 was also a Japanese Army plane while the Zero was always a Navy plane. I hope none of you is trying to learn aviation history from the game!
Well honestly your going to have to avoid the dogfights as much as possible. Stay out of the furball (when planes are all in a cluster) if you can. If you find yourself in one try and evade your way out of it and then turn and reengage from a distance. The Mosquitos cannons and mg's have very excellent range and are very powerful. Take advantage of that.... learn to aim well. Try and force people into head to head match ups, in a game of chicken you will win everytime (well against most players... I don't like to loose h2h when I am in a zero III and when it's obvious I'm going to go down, I will hit the throttle and try and ram the other guy for the draw). Don't be afraid of p-40's rockets. If you get hit by one in the mosquito and you are at full health, you will only drop to half health due to it's armor. If a good player in a zero had managed to go mono e mono with you in a dogfight, just accept the fact that you are pretty much screwed, but stick around anyway and keep fighting as that is really the only way you can learn and get better! Hope this helps
