When our two oldest were young, the older daughter (18 months) tried to poke out her baby brother's eyes! She thought he was a doll and was amazed by the real moving eyes! You could not leave them in a room together which was real interesting when you needed the bathroom! Each stage had different challenges... I would rather have teenagers than babies at least you can reason with them... They say if you have not sorted the discipline issues with your kids by the time they are 7-years-old it is down hill all the away after that! So far so good

He might be good at RTW but he sucks at flight sims! He would rack my deaths up to 10,000 by the end of the day and not make a single kill!

That just sounds scary! Luckily my 17 month old is the littlest family member... otherwise I think we would all be in trouble! He's has sooooo much energy!
The only way to beat a 17 month old with lots of energy is to play them at their own game... You need a soft bouncy ball and play chase the ball and bring it back... If you make it fun they will go chase till they drop... Haha EDIT: Once we were waiting in a hotel for our room to be cleaned... My 8-yr-old daugher at the time said she was bored waiting... I said race to the top of the hotel (8 floors) and back 8 times... She did it and then wanted to keep going even when the room was clean... She slept well that night and so did the rest of the family... Kids are suckers, they will do anything if you make it into a game
That's some pretty good advice! Yeah I have figured that one out. My son right now is very independent. He wants to do everything himself, and I mean everything! He wants to brush his own teeth, feed himself... everything. This is really cool I think, but it really is presenting its own set of challenges. He's right now at that age where he can understand pretty much everything you say to him, but he can't speak in complete sentences and says a few words. Well today I discovered that he is now responding to "the voice" I'm doing really well today because of this... I might run the risk of wearing it out, because I have been using it to give me hugs and stuff... don't know how long this is going to last for me actually... yeah I probably shouldn't wear this out should I?
Yeah I actually just ran into her and she was in a Z 3. She didn't stick around long so I couldn't say how well she was doing.
On the communication thing we used sign language with our kids... It worked really well they could not say stuff but they could sign it! It kept the frustration levels down well and avoided a lot of tantrums! It also helped with their spoken language and vocabulary to develop too... We give our under fives two options in any situation... We never say would you like too. We say this or that. EG Option 1) put the red shirt on. Option 2) put the blue shirt on. They can cope with this and they feel like they have control. Like a good teacher who 'shouts' strategically rather than all the time. If you use the 'voice' too often then they will be saturated and the 'voice' will not work! Under 8s are pretty simple... they wanna have fun and know they are loved! Make the whole day fun and give simple choices and life will go easy. Let them get bored, don't show them love and make the choices to complex and you will be running around like a headless chicken all day long. When the hit around 8 they get a little more complex and social issues come into play....

I have chased them out of several games this week.
