In order to play the game well you need sound. Your brain responds quickly to sound when you are in visual overload. As a newbie you should avoid h2h at first you will get killed by a veteran easily. Angle of Attack (AoA) is really important in any dog fight situation. You always want to fire at the zone ahead of the target, the perfect angle of attack is from above, above from the rear is better than above from infront (unless you are very skilled and above from infront will lead to a very quick kill at they fly into your crosshairs) When you attack someone a newbie will usually pull-up so be prepared to quickly follow them up. This is the worst thing to do first you make the area of attack larger, and secondly you lose speed and finally it is almost impossible to pull around the their six. If you are attacked you should either dive or turn 90 degrees and pull up, therefore making a hard left or right turn. The perfect killing position is on the persons rear (six). If you see someone resist the temptation of firing too early. Pull to just on their six then start firing cannons followed by MGs. Be ready for them to turn, a newbie will pull up, a veteran will make a sharp turn or dive and the back again to get on your six.
Interesting, cause now mines not crashing at the end of frag limit games like it was before. Also very strangely, I think my firepower has improved a bit... seems like I'm having an easier time and having to fire less rounds to bring a plane down... weird. Yes the effect I am seeing is subtle, no control issues, no real lagging or anything.... I don't know, its like the frame rate has been lowered or something. Perhaps I just need to reset my router......
Argh, I got 2 phonecalls and kicked out of that FFA room! we had some good potential for quite a fight in there! I tried to instigate a cancellation of cease fire as there were so many with a 'hasta la vista' but not sure if anyone understood! I was on orions tail at one point and didn't have the heart to start blasting away!
I suspect this "update" was just to change the stupid icon, from lite to regular. Now people are haveing problems all over again! Reset your ipod I guess dude.... uninstall the app, reinstall I guess. I'm leaving mine because I worked hard to unlock that 100 dogfight kills achievement dang it! I'll deal with a bit of choppy for a bit until they get us a version out with some true bug fixes!
Hehe! I appreciate that, cause no I didn't understand what 'hasta la vista' meant! Next time I will know, thats your code! I will reply the same Keebler, I knew that was you, I just accidentally shot you down is all as I thought I had speed past you trying to get that kill! Sorry buddy I know you thought, I didn't know it was you cause you kept hitting me with the "ouches" !
I wish they wouldn't have released this if all it was for was to change the icon. Great game BTW.. Chonch too!
Keebler=. Incognito?? Hmmmmmm..didn't see a booger on windshield??? Hmmmmm Who is using the name of CHUCK NORRIS in vain??? I hope he doesn't find out. He would shake a can of "whoop ass" and let it spew!
OK so I couldn't stand all this choppiness so I uninstalled SoG and tried reinstalling it from itunes. I changed my name to "reset test" however that didn't change my name in the game server. I'm worried that my scores now won't sync to the server anymore and I might have to change to something else... wait a minute, it did still show me in red as [SAB]Orion why didn't it so me as "reset test"? Oh well I am reinstalling the version with the light Icon off my computer to see if that fixes everything for me.
After the last major update the only weirdness I had was that I couldn't edit my player name or Room names. I had no crashes or control issues. To fix my naming problem, I deleted the app from the iPod and re-synced it from iTunes. Problem solved. But a new problem came up: all my in-game achievements -- #of Multiplayer Godlikes and Bailouts, for instance, were reset . Now I've downloaded the current 2.0.1 version. I hope it doesn't do anything bad to me! I won't know until I can get a hold of my son's iPod touch again (I play on his touch.)
You must have a very tolerant son to let you have his iPod touch enough to score 12,000 kills in SoG. Does his allowance depend on his generosity?
sometimes it takes some minutes to get the new name in the list... it takes longer than before... had some app crashes this afternoon too...
I've gotten frustrated with the choppiness and constant "failed to connect" screens so I bought the Yak and tested it out in skirmish mode. Anyway, it got me wondering who has been able to do the most consecutive loops under the bridge? I was able to do my first full loop of the bridge (going under, pulling up and completing the loop by going under again) but once I get under to complete the loop I usually have made a slight shift in direction and crash before completing the second loop. I'll try again in the Zero and see if the better handling will allow me to make enough quick adjustments to line myself up again. I was just curious if someone out there has a personal record of 3 or 10 or something ridiculous. If you haven't tried it yet you really should. Just go to skirmish mode and put the difficulty all the way down, that way the other planes won't bother you when you break away towards the bridge.
Yep, I lost all mine too. I reinstalled from itunes store the latest version as my ipod doens't seem to want to sync today. Now I'm still having the choppyness issue. I am kind of ticked that I lost that complete 100 dogfights achievement. That one was really tough and I was proud to have done it... I really wish I hadn't upgraded this morning
I got problems with the update.. I was standing for a while on wait.... then I had to leave the house and the wifi... As I checked it, It looked as if the update was made... but: If I look in game options/help/credit, I see version 2.0.0 Do you have 2.0.1 after the update? If I check updates it says all applications on newest level... Also in itunes I can't choose update...
