I can add to the chorus telling you to wait. I'm using a 3G, OS 3.01, and I've had no control or gameplay issues since the update, except maybe a few more lost connections and some overall choppiness in heavily populated rooms. I don't think upping the room size to 10 was a good thing.

The amount of memory you have in your phone makes no difference to gameplay, by the way -- the extra space in bigger phones all belongs to the iPod side, not the iPhone OS side.

I tried playing just now and my whacky control is still not fixed.

I was playing in a car service center that provide a free wifi. I checked the speed and it reads an average of 67kbps, faster than my home. For each plane I managed to have a good shot at, I was finishing them off much earlier than what I would normally felt in my home.

I tried that many times. You are referring to the calibration done during the game right?

That's SAB traditional treatment to fix any online gaming issue that can't be resolved by conventional means. It is invented by Frumius and I think there's a patent to it. Our experience tell us this do work sometimes.

But I have no tree stump around my place. So I can't try it to fix my control issue. :(

So the fastest wifi you have in Singapore is 67kbps? Is the whole country wired DSL or something? If you do decide to get a iphone, I would also say wait for the upgrade. Hopefully though SGN will have things straightened out soon.

I did tried but the cheapest one is $1999. And the shipment cost is also at the same price. I've also check my early termination penalty to change to another service provider and will cost $1100. Looks like I'll be stuck with my problem until the 4G comes which I can upgrade but still sticking to my current telco provider. :(

Where I live in Los Angeles I have 25 mb service it's not too much, like 34 a month or something like that. But I run a large iMac, macbook, 2 iPod Touchs and a vonage router and airport express wireless router off of it. So things can bog down but other wise a 1.5 gb movie can come down itunes in about 10 minutes or so depending on the traffic in my area.

No. With the same service provider and I went to region close to central part of my island, I'm getting at least 120kbps. I'm living at the edge of my island country. So I believe the 3G source is located somewhere in central part of the island. But still at region near my home my friend on another minor service provider, his iPhone can get ~110kbps. We think is due to less customers using its 3G. I've never tried playing with more than 70kbps so I can't be sure what should be the minimum speed to reach firing rate saturation.

So I can conclude that the control problem is only affecting iPhone 8GB. GN0000 said his is fixed after reinstall but his is 16GB.

That sounds pretty good! I live just outside of Charlotte NC and we have cable modem. We just get the lowest tier package and it runs at 7 Mbps x 512 Kbps. It's like 45.00 a month plus we have to pay $15.00 for basic cable which sucks as we have Directv. The local cable co has what they call a "grandfather clause" in affect meaning they are allowed to be a monopoly. No other cable or phone company is allowed to do business here, so we really have no other options for internet. Their HDTV lineup is very limited when compared to Directv and isn't all that much cheaper. It is kind of annoying when I drive just 5 minutes up the interstate and start seeing signs for like comcast or verizon for high speed at much cheaper rates than we can get.
