I just realised I'm choosing spitfire instead of planes with 4.5 handling is based on same principle as why I choose EF-2 over F22. In F22 I tend to over turn and miss the enemy when I turn at tightest angle. So either I have to turn at smaller angle or to slow down my turn when I feel the enemy is about to appear in front of me. In EF-2, I just turn at it's tightest angle and there's no need to reduce the angle and I never over shoot the enemy. F22 has 10stars while EF2 has 8stars in manueverability. So it's the same for me in SoG.
Yes, he's starting to get a little annoying! ... but only cause his evasion tactics aren't bad. I find myself talking to my Seafire, saying - "We're getting aggrivated" .
That's what I like to see... Commitment. It's not all about the top spec and the best virtual hardware, It's about what works for you/what you like and sticking to it, whether it have 2 or even 1 star for ratings .
GG out there Origami, Hazzard and NeLge. sorry I had to run. the kids need to get to school soon. priorities
In about 2hrs from now we are going to start the daily training FFA among Touch Arcade members. It will be just one match occuring everyday at about same time. Do come to this forum first to check if anyone set up the room. Anyone can setup the room. Just need to notify everyone in here. Details: Game type: FFA private Game name: ta Flag limit: 20 Time limit: nil Map: any map Time: 4pm (GMT+0) West USA - 8am (before going to work?) East USA - 11am (lunch time?) Swiss - 5pm (just after work?) Asia - 12am Japan - 1am Rules: No firing at anyone until there are at least 6 players AND someone shouted "Hasta la vista!" to start the game. This is not to show who is the best. It's purely for training purpose to pit ourselves against the bests, and a good training ground to evaluate any new tactics. If anyone is at bottom few positions there's nothing embarresing about this because this is a daily events, so you may be the top in one of the days eventually when u evaluate what could have room for improvements. Those who consistently in top positions in the match are encouraged to share how they did it so that everyone can learn and beat other players not from TA or 2ch. 2ch members are welcome to join when they see the notification.
+1 to you! But problem with me is I tends to get bored after using the same plane over and over again. So expect me to switch to other planes in few days time. But my signature will always remain as Red Spitfire. I still think the Hien is slightly harder to be hit than the Mustang, but Mustang do turn slightly faster than the Hien.
I prefer white hien.Majority of my kills are from that plane. However i also tend to overturn.Anyway will check out red spitfire if it ever drops to $1.
my advice is to just buy the red spit. i know it's $2.99 or whatever, but given the large amount of online gameplay, i believe it's well worth it. look at it as giving back to the game producers. have fun, keebler
Buy all the planes to support the running of SoG servers so that online will remain free. I bought all the planes and all the bundles including the bluetooth bundle which I never use. Some of the planes I bought i didn't even tried once.
Aye! GG Skywolf! Next time we meet I may be in a different plane... Shern, interesting that you minimize use of your rudder. I utilize all the controlls equally, but most of all i'm constantly on the throttle or brake. I find that throttle and brakes affect every aspect of the plane's handling and manueverability...
If u can't turn accurately when turning at max angle and tends to overturn, and so need to slow down or reduce the turn angle, you will end up turning as fast as spitfire and might a well use the spitfire with the extra bit of armor. But if u can turn accurately without overturning using Hien or Mustang and turning at max angle or tightest turn, then u will be among the top aces. This require much practice. But if u're like me born with slower reflexes, using spitfire will help in the game quite significantly.
i second this! i use my rudder ALOT and the throttle equally. i think it's been key to getting on the 6 of planes and also, to keep them in line when attacking a plane which is attacking another plane. I remember reading plenty of WW2 biographies by pilots - chuck yeager and Saburo Sakai specifically. each mentioned using the rudder to skid their plane slightly sideways to 'walk' or 'rake' their fire over an enemy plane. This provide for higher accuracy of their aiming, as well as best usage of their ammunition considering unlike SOG, theirs wasn't unlimited i use this technique all the time.
I minimize, but not zero out, the use of rudder. I still use them to fine tune my aim. For speed, I use the accelerator most often to maintain high speed as I never like traveling too slowly as this will make me easy target. And sometimes when in a spin I will brake to out turn the enemy, but that's when my radar is not showing other enemy in the vicinity. However in spitfire, I will avoid spinning with planes having better handling, as much as I will avoid doing h2h with a non smoking spitfire or a tempest and is not noob.
But how do u use rudder/throttle at the same time as firing? U can do that in real life: legs control the ruddle, right hand control the stick while your thumb or fingers on the trigger, left hand control the throttle. In SoG, u only got 2 thumbs to control everything. After adjusting your aim using ruddle and throttle and move back to MG buttons, the target has shifted it's position out of your aim. This is the problem I'm facing.
it's a combination of weapons/rudder with the thumbs. small taps of both. using the rudder should only be small taps and you're right back to the weapons. my thumbs are ALWAYS moving back and forth b/n the 2. the only time my thumbs are on the weapons completely is when i'm lined right up on someone. using the throttle does require more effort, but i find when i need the throttle is usually when i don't need to fire weapons b/c i can't find my target or i'm trying to get into position. it takes more finesse and your kdr might suck at first, but once you master it, you'll be just fine. put it this way: you listened to me wrt sensitivity so try this one as well. trust me. it works
Thanks a lot!! You are always so open in sharing how u play the game so well. I'll put some pracitice and see how it goes.
Hehe! This was Keebler's written in white tactic! I have not really been able to quite master this one yet Keebler, but what I did learn from it is to start doing this at a distance with just the MG's. I was surprised as to how far they can actually shoot! I actually started doing my own variant of this one because I can't seem to make my thumbs be in two places at once. What I do is start into a barrel roll, and kinda make the plane wobble just a bit in a circular motion or in a left right or up and down motion while I'm in it. I figured this would have the same affect as Keebler's rake tactic. It seems to do something for me that's for sure!
it's all coordination Orion. just a matter of moving those thumbs. the smokes are slowing you down i'm reading to hop in shern. create that FFA game and it's game on
Yeah I'm planning on trying to make another attempt to quit here soon for my kids sake. I actually quit for a year once but fell off the bandwagon OK trying to find that game now! EDIT: ta lowercase right?
I finally deciphered Keebler's white-type: Heh, these guys will believe anything! If they buy into all this "tactics" stuff I'm handing them they'll be sitting ducks! My Kill Ratio and Kill Rate are gonna be flyin' now! Who0T! I'm pretty sure that was what he said. I'm waiting for an update to my InvisiblePost (version b.1) translation software. Notice that it still leaves the type in white!
