following the arrows only can be annoying and senseless, if the other players are skilled. It's better to get a plane in sight and chase it. pick one out.. (a smoking one is cool, because it's slow) get it down... When you circle by following the arrows try to make a breakout once... or fly weird curves with much rudderfor some time.. everything is turning, but you will be able to spot attackers or victims as well...
I was in a TP room in the red spitfire as I met oldjanx.. Had quite a lot problems with him. As I changed to the grey mustang I got him twice and he left... oldjanx was in a corsair, I hardly could see him as I was in the spitfire and he was shooting holes in my plane... Maybe my technique is not so brilliant, but I just couldn't do anything, he was at my six.
Ok. I am sticking to Spitfire. hehe. I did a set of 20 kills in Mustang and then a set of 20 kills in Spitfire. First set has GN-0000 entered but his kill rate is almost freeze. Then later I know why when I went h2h with him. And I'm a bit surprised a rocket came out of his plane (and killed me with rocket, Nice!). I reach 20 kills and he's still at 3 kills. He will probably stop using rocket after this. Anyway, I kill slower with the Mustang because I lost in h2h with Boshe and M both are in Red spitfire, and I have to avoid subsequent h2h, and this means losing huge number of kill opportunities. And I stop having the convenient of having an enemy backside right in front of me for me to wipe it with by MGs, without flying pass it. Second set I switch back to Spitfire and my killing rate restored beautifully. This time GN-0000 not around but replaced by Origami. I think he's at 7-9 kills when I entered. After I reached 20 kills, he's at 30kills. So the spitfire does improve my kill rate to be quite close to Origami, but not on par yet. Or may be he's not drinking today so he's quite slow today.
There's always a strength and weakness for each plane. Understanding fully on the strength and weakness of the plane will help alot. The weakness of spitfire is in dogfight 1v1 but it's strength is in h2h. So when using spitfire, never never try to do a continuous spin with a plane having 4.5 rating in handling. Fly haphazardly to confuse the enemy and then get out of the spin. To have good kills using spitfire, always go for targets that are going after other targets. That's another strength of spitfire with higher armor. It can withstand more hits while traveling slightly slower than others in order to hit the enemy that is shooting other enemy, without passing the first enemy. But if spitfire is in 1v1 with a better handling plane and the player is not a noob, quit from the match (come back when the room has more players). Spitfire will lose handsdown. So don't be silly, accept the defeat and quit the match to preserve your kdr. In summary, Spitfire excel in 1) TP rooms where there are many h2h opportunties; 2) shooting down targets that are going after other targets, particulary in FFA room. But Spitfire sucks in 1) 1v1 dogfight
i tried the Spit, new Mustang and Hein in FFAs today. For ME, the Hein is the way to go. I was killing at an insane rate, but it could just be how I play. I was turning on a dime whereas the Spit was slower and the new mustang just marginally slower. regardless, still fun
I was hoping I hadn't run you off! Sorry about shooting you down like that right when you came into the room. I often do that to people I like, just as my way of saying hello! The key to avoiding chasing arrows is don't! Break out of the pack fly evasively for a while, then turn and attack the pack again. Simple as that!
You know I am honestly glad that Canada won that game. I know that Hockey is ingrained into you guys, and I figured there would be pandemonium in the streets had Canada won. I really did enjoy the game, it was very exciting. I have to be honest though and confess that I don't know the first thing there is to know about it. I agree it would be nice if Hockey was more popular here.. as well as soccer. I can't know why hockey resonates so well with Canadians, but I can clue you in as to why it doesn't here... at least in my area of the country. We don't have hockey here, plain and simple. There is one large ice skating ring in our area that I am aware of and I'm not even sure if they have a kids hockey league or anything. I have strapped on a pair of ice skates only three times in my life... it is so unnatural for me to glide across a sheet of ice with a pair of knives strapped to my feet. I'll admit I found it really fun though! We do have the Carolina Hurricanes, but I think their fan base consists mostly of Northerners who have relocated here. Still though, my interest is peaked, and I will probably try and watch more hockey games then I do!
The new grey Mustang is a total beast. It has great speed and acceleration, handles as well as the Hein, but the clincher is that it has a really, really low stall speed. I was getting on peoples sixes all day with slow turns and hard accel. The guns seem more potent than the Hein as well.
Scruff, that was fun flying with you a few min ago. Aye, I love the new Mustang! Thanks, Lance and Razvan!
hey guys Assassins Creed 2 multiplayer is out for free in the first 48 hours! it's relevant cause if you guys need a breather from all these all-out dogfights, then you can play AC2 multi. you know, for those times when you wanna be sneaky
Very true, it's a con I noticed too; you can try and counter by braking whilst turning or banking. Takes a little practice before you get a feel though. But on the pro side; the grey mustang can accelerate pretty damn hard I think! You can turn pretty hard, even at insane high speeds; oh how many people crashed onto the ground when I plunged towards the ground with them chasing me, only pull up at last moment! (can't say I didn't kiss the ground once or twice, but mostly close calls! Feels great though! ) Climb as high as you can and then power dive into a swarm and the poor ol' birdies won't know what hit 'em!
Mosquito, My old chum, how you doing. Apologies for the delay I haven't been on all w/e. I linked the sig to an upload host. .
I happened to catch a re-run of 'Saving Private Ryan' over the weekend. In one of the final scenes, showed a P51 "tank buster" doing it's thing. Looks just as good in real life as it does in the game .
