i'm loving COD, but i got the mac version. don't have an xbox and it ensures my kids won't see me playing that one. fantastic game. let me know if you get it...we'll hook up on that game. maybe use mikes to communicate and slaughter I'll be on later tonight maybe. i've barely played the few days. did buy bia2 and it's pretty good, but haven't played that really. been trying to finish alot of work. hey SAB Handy, GG out there tonight. I wasn't targeting you per say - just kept flying in front of me
If I get it you will be the first person I tell Sounds like a fun game, though I don't think I'll be getting it this month, I have a ton of late nights and weekends I have to work. I didn't realize that the PC and mac versions, would let you interact with Xbox live.. thats cool I'm going to get it eventually, just not sure when. I'm going to try and play a bit right now, hopefully I'll get an hour of playing time, before my wife makes me watch figure skating *groan* I don't know what other Olympic events they will be showing tonight... hopefully the aerials I should be around after 11:00PM EST as well. EDIT: Oh and there is another goose out today.. won't be me!
No, as I was telling Keebler, so far I haven't bought any Xbox 360 games for myself, but I am going to here soon I'll let you guys know when I do and then we'll all play Where is everyone tonight anywhoo???? I hope we aren't reading too much into that statement on SoG's facebook page, we don't know what they have in mind at this point after all....wait and see....
we're just worried is all. austin(the guy i mentioned) and i are trying to convince them not to go down the "Gear" road
No worry if the update comes with pay per win scheme. We can just create rooms named "No gears pls!!!" and I'm sure such rooms will be attractive to more players.
guys, the updates take time and it takes time at Apple's end. I've said this before, but they may be done and it's just at Apple's hands to finish the approval process. I have a friend who just developed a very cool app and it's been with Apple for a few weeks now. He's done everything possible, but now, it's out of his control. Personally, i'm not worried about it and will continue to fly and slay anything in my path You folks should too
we're worried about "Gear" not the updates arrival. and recently apples approval process has been pretty fast. anyway, it might be done and approved and SGN is just planning its release. as i mentioned before, devs have control over their apps and updates once its been approved
I think it importaint that we give SGN the benifit of doubt here. No one objects to the concept of "gear" per say, but none of us are going to be willing to condone a "pay to win" scenario. That would run counter to any sence of fair play what so ever. I thik though it's importaint to note that SGN is in fact blazing new ground with a brand new buisiness model that for the most part is untested. They are bound to make a few mistakes along the way, and I am willing to grant them a little paitince as they figure all this out. I do belive they should be rewarded for creating such a wonderful game and that's one of my main reasons for buying everything in the game possible. Still I think they need to consider carefully any system that requires people to keep spending dollar after dollar to just remain competitive. Pay to play is one thing, no reasonable person would expect anything less, but spend to win.... That would be unfair to a lot of people. I realize that blazing new trails is never easy, and I do sincerily wish the the folks over at SGN sucess. They have an amzing opportunity to set the bar and to be a wonderful example to other companies as they adapt to this new business model. That is why I do so hope that they consider carefully what they do here, as it will carry ramifications well beyond the realm of SOG. Ultimately the goal should be to encourage people to spend money, and to consider the fine line between that and the appearance of attempting to strongarm people into spending money. For one will bring sucsess while the other resentment and ultimately I belive failure.*
I just had 2 sets of easy 50 kills FFA workout using Spitfire. Spitfire will be my signature plane. I may use Hien, Corsair, Zero or BF, but Red spitfire will always be in my signature. It's the plane that I use to reach the gold medal, it's the plane of my childhood fantasy, and it's the plane made by the nation that found my country. So it's the plane that I felt most attached to. And it's the plane that Al Queada has just used to shoot me down a moment ago. And it seems to be his signature plane also. Mmmm...
My take on it: I'd pay for new things that I can keep: the ability to customize my plane's appearance, new planes, new missions Ability to save films and other such cool things. I would pay, in other words, for things that make the game more fun. But NO WAY am I paying for consumables that keeps running out (I know it's redundant). And it would be TERRIBLE if you had to keep buying consumables merely in order to be competitive. That would kill this game for me. Not only would it feel like a rip-off, but it would make for a lot of unbalanced playing. I wrote that in the FAST thread the other day, then member F.A.S.T 3G wrote after it wondering whether SGN would even read it, and shawnlopiccolo (of SGN) wrote immediately that he reads "everything!" Lol.
Yes and that's an important point. Its the consumables that kind of go over the line to me. I'm glad to hear that the folks over at SGN read everything, it sounds like they are open to constructive criticism. I would like to reiterate that I only express my concerns to be helpful and I am by no means crying sour grapes here. I honestly believe that they will do more business in the long run if they do everything they can to strike a balance between charging for new features and keeping the game fun for everyone. I love this game, I want it and the folks over at SGN to do well with it, and to continue to make improvements with the game that we can all enjoy
Sorry I missed you last night buddy, I looked for you, but it was kind of late So what does your friends app do, if he hasn't sworn you to secrecy that is
he did, but it should be out soon. i haven't seen an app like it yet. will keep you all posted. as for SOG and the forthcoming update, my concern will be what (if) any charges for online play will be. I have no idea, but I have a cap in my head that will stop me from playing this game. It's an interesting angle b/c I can certainly appreciate how they need to grow and maintain their revenue stream however, when you buy a game for any gaming platform, you usually get online play with it so there would be a cap. ie. I paid $65 for COD2. not cheap, but I can get alot of playtime out of it. Will be interesting to see how this develops. I like the current format - pay for planes and mission packs. I think that's the smartest way to go, along with perhaps a smaller fee for monthly online play. I'm wondering if anyone else is losing connection lots recently? I seem to be losing connection alot and it doesn't make sense b/c I have a strong internet connection. Also, unless i'm mistaken, cannons are the only weapon which is red and white right? I ask b/c a Hein came at me, shot me with a rocket*, then I was absolutely plastered by red and white ammunition. It didn't make sense to me. I don't think MGs are red/white are they? Very odd. and yes the * is b/c i made him pay dearly for that rocket attack...time and time again of course
other than the crappy green spitfire, what other planes does campaign unlock?cause i'm eyeing it right now, tempted to see if a plane is unlocked from it.
