So... who can truly say this is a RDR clone? who has played it? ANYONE? Any western theme game from now on is a RDR clone? Is the future so sad? Ask Clint Eastwood what the hell is RDR and then we can talk.
Some info: - Crucificator explosions. - You can upgrade your weapons. - There are levels. - Demons too. - There is an achievement for killing animals. - One for outlaws too. - And one more for innocent civilians. - There's a scythe as weapon. - A Demon Thrower. - You can impale enemies - Shop for weapons. - Oregon as place. - Experience points pack (looks like IAP) - To finish, there is a Giant Werewolf. And this is a FREE+ series games (looks like for Gameloft's live name).
That may be true, but it's still pretty bad. And of course I don't expect a full RDR port ( well, maybe one day in the future ) but I would prefer to see something a little more original from them. The moment you try to copy an amazing game like RDR, you're gonna fail no if's or but's about it. it's that simple. I said it looked bad to ME. That's my opinion and my opinion only. who knows the game could surprise me and turn out good and then I'll gladly admit I was wrong, but I've picked up all of Gameloft's previous games and have be disappointed with them all. I did kinda enjoy Sacred Odyssey and even had a little fun with Backstab, but mostly they just fall flat in all areas that make a game fun to me. So yeah to me from what I've seen, the game does look pretty bad so far.
Gameloft make the best FPS' and they should stick to making those. Just because they get great reviews for their shooters doesn't mean they suddenly make fantastic games in general. I like their games, but FPS' are by far the best they make.
That's fair enough. What gets old is the knee-jerk reaction we often see in these Gameloft threads, particularly from folks who: 1) have no intention of playing action/console games on this platform; and 2) folks who hate Gameloft as a matter of principle (because of their lack of originality, because they "don't" update their games, or what have you). Frankly, I'd much rather keep these threads on the game at hand. You think it looks bad? Fine: what's bad about it? Compared to what? Other iOS action games? Something that's not available on any portable platform? I think that makes for much more intersting conversation than the (to my ears) lazy knee jerk reaction.
I dont get it.Its true that there are very few western themed games on the market and that RDR is arguably the best of them, but that doesnt make every western game that came afterwards a clone.I could call RDR a clone of Call of Juarez. But then everybody would boo me.Those two games have more in common that RDR and Six-Guns.The whole undead paranormal theme seems to be a major part of the plot. And thats what caught my attention.Otherwise it would be an average gameloft cash-cow.All that said I really hope that gameloft have put more work into this game, since almost all of their games are bland and boring.Dont know exactly how to say it,but their games lack "Soul".Only games from gameloft that I liked were MC2 and O&C.Obviously because of the multiplayer factor.Anyway I hope this game has some love put into it and turns out something really interesting.
Acheivements I remember seeing a list of achievements when news of this game first surfaced. Can someone find that list and post it in this thread please? I looked for it but can't find it. As far as the game goes, I think it looks great! I can't wait for it to come out. And someone said earlier that GL hasn't had a good game in awhile. I got stuck on Order & Chaos Online for a few months. I think GL does a good job of giving us what the big devs wont. AND THEY GIVE IT TO US FOR $6.99. QUITYERBITCHIN!!!!
Gameloft makes the best FPS/TPS action games on the iOS platform. No other company comes close. Games like 9mm, Shadow Guardian, NOVA 2, Rainbow Six, etc provide amgreat gaming experience. Bring on Six Guns!!
Lets be honest, even with all its flaws, Gameloft has made the most successful 3d mmorpg on iOS as well.
All I'm hoping is that the shooting mechanic is free aim and not lock-on. That's always a killer for me.
I can understand that, but I assure you that my comment was far from a knee-jerk reaction. I don't hate Gameloft at all. I think I'm more disappointed than anything, because I feel they have the potential to do much better. what's bad about it..well, from what I've seen I would say the animations, voice acting and god awful music. I'm also pretty sure the story will end up being pretty bad too as is the case with most of Gameloft's games lately. I disagree completely. This game is much more RDR like than RDR is compared to Call of Juarez which was a FPS if I'm not mistaken. I'm not saying it's a RDR clone just because it's a western game. it's pretty obvious that it's their attempt at a RDR like game. even some of the character designs look copied. as for the whole paranormal thing.. RDR Undead Nightmare already did that and I'm sure that's where they got that idea.
Yeah-you cant have alot of versatility when it comes to western themes, you know-the brooding hero, cocky mexicans, saloon owner. Its all taken from the old spaghetti westerns. The locations look similar because, lets face it-every old west town we've seen look the same! .I'm not denying that gameloft have intention to cash in on the RDR fame, but from what I see in the trailer its more than that. And you're saying that Undead Nightmare already did this-that DLC had only zombies and aside from the search for the zombie disease cure it was the same game-random encounters with bandits were replaced with zombies, graveyards were in place of hideouts. From what I've seen in the trailer there would be much more supernatural beasts and the whole thing will be an integral part of the plot.I just hope that Gameloft does a decent job and the story will be up to par.
